AI Doctor : From Slave to Beast King

Chapter 131: A stubborn brat

"Sorry to tell you," Damien placed the fork in his hand on the table harshly before saying to Henry, "I haven't given up anything. Acupuncture is one of the branches of treatment and can help me in saving a lot of lives."

What was the matter with this kid? Does he really have to go against him at every possible turn? Damien thought that he had proven himself by joining the guild and spreading his fame far and wide.

But it seems like no matter what he does, Henry will somehow find a way to oppose him. .net

Maybe he doesn't even want to trust him.

The thought alone was unsettling because nothing was more annoying and hurtful than a person doubting the skills of a doctor.

"That's some bold words from someone who is just playing around," Henry scoffed and this time around Damien could no longer stop himself.

He banged his fists on the table and snapped, "What's your problem? Why do you have to go against me all the damn time?"

"I did something wrong? Fine. I am trying to change, aren't I? At least I am trying to do something to help mother. Instead of sitting and crying like a child who doesn't know any better."

"I am not crying!" Henry's voice rose to a shrill shriek as he glared at his brother.

"You are doing a darn good show of it," sneered Damien. "I have been polite with you because I thought that you were a child and sooner and later you will learn and accept that I am only trying to help our mother."

"But now I seem to have understood that no matter what I do or how I try to convince you nothing will change because you are blind! You only see what you want to and refuse to accept that you are wrong."

Damien stood up from the chair and glared at Henry, "I don't care if you stick to your principles that you adhere to and believe to be correct. But don't try to push them on me."

He knew that the reason Henry was having a hard time accepting him was not only because of his hatred towards his predecessor but also because he refused to accept Damien's skills as 'official'.

"Dami, calm down," Lady Cecil raised her hand and tried to stop the quarrel from happening. She wanted her family to be closely knit, they already had a bunch of people against them, so they did not need to turn against one another as well.

Damien glanced at Lady Cecil and Priscilla who were looking at him. Their eyes were filled with worry and fear.

Realising that he had lost his temper, Damien ran his fingers through his hair. He pushed the chair with a screeching sound and said, "I am done with my dinner."

Lady Cecil wanted to stop him but Wistoria stopped her. She rose to her feet and said to Lady Cecil, "He must be feeling frustrated with the lack of respect and support. Please don't worry, I will go and talk with him."

She then turned to look at Henry who was sitting in the chair, looking mutinous and then said to him, "Henry, I know that you have some complaints regarding your brother. But so does he. The only difference is that your brother is willing to move forward and you, on the other hand, are still not willing to take a step forward."

With a gentle push, she stepped to one side and added in a subtle voice, "Don't keep on clinging onto the past so tightly that you will lose all the opportunities to make up for the lost time."

After she was done speaking, Wistoria headed out of the dining room.

Henry watched her leave and clenched his fists in his lap angrily.

Was he really wrong? But how could anyone trust that man who had once tried to kill them?

What if this was another one of his ploys to get rid of their mother and their family?

Wistoria wasn't sure where Damien went, she simply whiffed the trace of his scent and followed it until it took her to the training area where she found Damien swinging his sword with the Ironclaw Eagle nipping at the dummy as it attacked it with its beak.

She heaved a sigh of relief before walking over to where he was training.

"Would you like to go down to the training areas? I think you will find it helpful if you see actual combat in the training areas," Wistoria did not say anything about what took place in the dining room, instead she looked at him and offered to help him.

Damien raised his head and looked at her before saying, "You will let me see it?"

"Why not? I think that it will help you come up with a way to find your own strengths," Wistoria stated with a smile. "Master Godric did ask me to help you with this matter."

Damien nodded. Since Wistoria was willing to lend him a helping hand, he might as well take it.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Taking a look at the training grounds might also help him with the anger that was bursting inside of him.

Wistoria led him out of the training grounds where he usually practised with Xavier, to the field which was far from where he practised.

"Isn't it quite far?" Damien casually remarked while walking.

"The training grounds where you practise is for the anomalies, those who can not control their elemental beast power, practise there," Wistoria replied and Damien couldn't help but frown.

Anomalies? Then was Xavier an anomaly?

Before he could question Wistoria, the two of them arrived at the training grounds where the guards of the Wolfe family were training unarmed combat techniques as they changed into their beast form.

Or at least they were trying to do so.

Damien noticed that the guards were having a hard time changing into their beast form while focusing on the fight.
