Chapter 47
Chapter 47: Goal Achieved x Water Divination x System Panel?
“Monster!”
Biscuit stiffly uttered the two words as she looked at Luo Lin in front of her.
Luo Lin: “…”
Could she stop saying that already?
Biscuit looked at Luo Lin, expressing that she really didn’t feel like talking.
Three days—just three days! And he had completed her week-long plan of maintaining Ren for half an hour!
And this was with her intervention. If she hadn’t stepped in… Biscuit thought back to what she had witnessed over the past three days.
The first day, after ten rounds of Ren practice, Luo Lin’s duration increased from one minute to two minutes—genius level.
The second day, after another ten rounds, his Ren duration jumped from two minutes to eight minutes. Wasn’t that a bit too fast?
The third day, today, he completed ten more rounds of Ren, but unlike the previous days, today’s training stretched into the late night, almost until dawn.
And his Ren duration had increased from eight minutes to half an hour. What kind of monster is he?
Biscuit couldn’t help but think, if she hadn’t limited him to ten rounds of Ren per day, he probably would have hit her target of thirty minutes by the end of the first night!
One day… thirty minutes of Ren!
Even though she had been shocked so many times, Biscuit still couldn’t help but feel amazed.
To think that a normal Nen user would take about a month just to extend their Ren duration by ten minutes.
Even though Luo Lin was in his rapid growth period as a Nen user, rapid growth didn’t mean he could fly!
At this rate, wouldn’t it be long before he caught up to her decades of Nen training?
Biscuit couldn’t help but feel a little sour inside.
But the worst part was, after teaching Luo Lin for several days, she felt no sense of accomplishment at all.
It was like a master artisan finally finding a perfect gemstone, excitedly preparing to carve a beautiful piece of jewelry, only for the stone’s rough surface to fall away on its own, revealing a nearly flawless gem that only needed a little polishing to shine brilliantly.
Though she had gained a rare treasure, for a gem hunter, the process was supposed to be where the joy came from. But now, she was left with none.
Feeling a bit disheartened, Biscuit turned to leave.
Seeing Biscuit’s dejected expression, Luo Lin was taken aback.
Though he wasn’t fully aware of it, Luo Lin knew that his progress over the past few days had been abnormal.
In fact…
Every time he saw Biscuit’s shocked face, he felt a small sense of satisfaction.
But this time…
Could it be that he had gone too far and now she wanted to leave?
“Biscuit, where are you going?” Luo Lin quickly called out.
“Going to sleep!” Biscuit paused and replied.
She could clearly hear the urgency in Luo Lin’s voice and had already guessed what he was thinking, but she wouldn’t let him underestimate her!
It was just a little blow, and if she couldn’t handle this, what had she been doing for decades?
Besides…
Even if she didn’t feel much involvement, how could a gem hunter pass up a rare treasure that was right in front of her?
“It’s getting late. After you finish this round of training, go to bed early. Tomorrow, we’ll begin the real lessons.” Biscuit said before leaving Luo Lin’s tent.
Hearing this, Luo Lin breathed a sigh of relief.
Although he had successfully awakened his Nen, missing out on such an excellent teacher like Biscuit would’ve been a great loss.
Until he fully mastered his abilities, Luo Lin had no intention of letting go of Biscuit as his mentor.
…
The next morning.
Even though he had gone to bed late the previous night, Luo Lin woke up early without needing Biscuit to call him. He washed up and then joined her in their meditation spot to clear his mind.
An hour later, their meditation ended.
Luo Lin and Biscuit opened their eyes simultaneously.
“Biscuit, I’ll go prepare breakfast now!” Luo Lin said as he stood up, ready to return to the camp.
Although his cooking skills were mediocre, with all the tools he had bought in the city, making a simple breakfast was no problem.
“Wait.” Biscuit stopped him.
“Breakfast can wait. First, let’s conduct a test!” Biscuit stood up and picked up a glass cup from the other side of the boulder.
“A test… could it be?” Luo Lin froze for a moment, but then quickly realized what was happening.
It was the water divination test!
Luo Lin couldn’t help but laugh to himself.
The past few days had been so intense that even though he had awakened his Nen three days ago, he had completely forgotten about such an important step.
By this point, Biscuit had already filled the glass cup with water from the nearby stream and had placed a leaf on top.
“Since we’re officially starting Nen training today, we need to test your Nen category first. Do I need to explain the categories to you?” Biscuit asked.
“No need.” Luo Lin shook his head.
He was very familiar with the six major categories of Nen.
He also knew exactly how the results of the water divination test corresponded to the categories.
An increase in water volume indicated an Enhancement-type user; a change in water color indicated an Emission-type user; a change in water taste indicated a Transmutation-type user;
movement of the leaf meant Manipulation-type; the appearance of crystals meant Conjuration-type;
and anything else would indicate the Specialization-type.
Seeing Luo Lin’s refusal, Biscuit wasn’t surprised.
After spending the past few days with him, she already knew that her disciple had a lot of knowledge about Nen.
“In that case, let’s begin the test!”
“The Water Divination test is how we, in the Heart Stream, determine our Nen type.” Biscuit explained as she placed the glass cup in front of Luo Lin.
“Place your hands on either side of the glass and release your aura. Based on the reaction in the cup, we’ll be able to determine your Nen category.”
Luo Lin, without hesitation, crouched down and placed his hands on either side of the glass, releasing his Nen.
A large amount of Nen flowed from his palms, enveloping the glass cup.
In the next moment, the water in the cup began to shimmer with light, and soon, the shimmering light solidified into…
“Screens?” Biscuit, standing nearby, saw this and was momentarily puzzled.
But she quickly brushed it off, as anything outside the usual reactions indicated a Specialization-type user.
And the reactions of Specialization-types were always strange, so there was nothing unusual about this.
“Looks like you’re a Specialization-type!” Biscuit remarked.
But Luo Lin, who was staring at the “screens” forming in the glass, was in a daze.
Maybe to Biscuit, they looked like computer screens, but to Luo Lin…
They were clearly system panels!
