Chapter 250 40% Protocol Threshold
"You stupid, Fox! This is what you get for ruining my plan and taking that brawn ghost with you!" The witch pulled Lee Seng in as Ritsuka and Keng weakly watched Lee Seng.
"Lee…!" Keng croaked.
"No…" Ritsuka's eyes were growing heavy. Something was telling him to just rest.
"I'll devour you first!" The witch pointed at Lee Seng. She brought him closer. His lifeless eyes were looking at Ritsuka. As he slowly passed Ritsuka, something caught Ritsuka's attention. The lifeless eyes seemed to twinkle.
'What was that…?' Ritsuka thought. 'Was it my… imagination?' Lee Seng 's body moved straight to the Witch as she began to put her hands on Lee Seng.
"He's too perfect to eat! AH, how I wish I could do more than devour you!" The witch's lust seemed to ooze out. She licked her lips and moved her head straight for Lee Seng's lips. She began to put her lips together to kiss him when Lee Seng's lifeless eyes sparkled again. She pulled away, confused. "What was that…?"
His eyes twinkled, again. She watched them continue to twinkle. His sapphire and ruby eyes glowed bright yet had dark energy within them. They were reminding her of something in her life when she was alive.
"The cosmos…?" She whispered. Lee Seng's lifeless eyes breathed life and that's when the sea of hair erupted into tiny pieces. Lee Seng gasped for air as he body immediately began to heal.
'Shit, I gained consciousness?' Lee Seng thought. He managed to whip his head at Ritsuka and then to Keng. He watched Keng slam into the ground, splintering it. Ritsuka tried his best to land, but met the floor with a loud thud as Angerfang scattered away from him. Lee seng indeed onto the ground on his knees and looked at his hands.
"Lee…" Ritsuka weakly let out. "You're…" Lee Seng looked at Ritsuka and smiled. His healing was faster than he ever imagined and as he assessed the situation the Witch and the Protocol screamed.
"No!" They both screamed.
"You were under my control!" The Protocol shouted.
"That much decay should've left you dead!" The Witch shouted. They both pointed bony fingers at him. Lee Seng felt the skintight suit recognize him and he let out a small smile.
"What can I say?" Lee Seng lifted his head upwards. "I'm full of surprises." The fox mask appeared on his face and before the Witch could even react, he was gone.
"Where did you go?" The Witch's eyes looked left and right. The air around her distorted slightly and she threw her hands up to meet a hard punch. She screamed as she was sent backwards.
"Your instincts are way better than that musclebrain ghost I fought." Lee Seng complimented her. "He just caught me at a bad time." The Witch pulled backwards as her hair began to regrow. The Fox Spirit in front of her was different from the others she had fought and feasted on. This one had a strange energy that told her he was and wasn't a Fox Spirit.
"What are you, Fox Spirit?" She craned her neck to the side. "You're not like the rest of them. Overconfident and stupid." Lee Seng hovered in the air as he folded his arms together.
"I'm a Fox Spirit, yeah, but I am… was? I dunno, human too." He answered. He hadn't, ever, thought about if he was still human. He still felt the same even after al lthe chances so he didn't second guess anything.
"A human Fox Spirit?" The Witch smiled. "That's why you're different! I've never had one of you before!" Her hair lashed forward. Lee Seng lifted his hand and watched as gravity forced the hair to the sides. The hair flew to his left and right as he made sure not to allow it to move anywhere below him.
The Withc reeled her hair back, trying to get another hit on him from behind. The Dark Matter burst from his back and collided with the hair, instantly devouring it all.
"I guess I can still use my Fox abilities with the Dark Matter suit." Lee Seng checked a theory off of his list in his mind. "I wonder what else I can do in this form. Can I even sustain it? It faded last time after no use."
"What're you mumbling about over there?" The Witch moved forward for the first time. Her ethereal green eeys burned with anger as she slashed at Lee Seng. Lee Seng easily dodged the attack and watched as the Witch's grin grew wider. He was met with green liquid. It slammed into him, pushing him out of the air and the broken cabin and into one of the decayed trees.
The tree shattered on impact as Lee Seng bounced off the ground and groaned.
"To think your mind is clear at 40% of the Protocol." The Protocol woman stood over him. "Why do you resist it so well?" Lee Seng's skin boiled as he rose. The green liquid ate at him but his energy had saved him from the brunt of the damage.
"Shut up." Lee Seng rose onto his feet. His eyes met her as he turned, slightly, to look at her. The mask hid his grin, but she looked at him with distaste. "I don't have time for you." He brushed her off as the Witch released blasts of green liquids at him. Lee Seng lifted his left hand and watched as Dark Matter and gold energy flew out. The energy began to eat at the green liquids, shielding himself from the rain of burning liquid.
Lee Seng pulled the energy back and blasted off of the ground. The ground cracked as he raised his left hand. The katana hummed and flew straight for him. The katana landed in his hand and he slashed at the Witch, watching Dark Matter and gold energy fly out of the blade.
'Gravity-infused Dark Matter and Savior energy strike… That's a mouthful.' Lee Seng thought as he continued to barrage the Witch with attacks. The Witch managed to keep up with his speed and release more burning liquids at him. Their attacks flew off to the side, landing and creating more destruction around them.
Florabelle watched, mouth agape. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. The wiry ghost woman, whom she thought nothing of while she was trapped in the goo trap, was way stronger than she let on.
'I guess that means I was right.' Florabelle thought. 'Now it's time to see if my instincts were right. When there's an opening, I can see if I can help him… Though, at the rate its going, I'm not sure if that's smart.'
Lee Seng pulled the katana back and smiled. He was having the time of his life. The Dark Matter suit had boosted his abilities and merged both halves into a single piece. He felt whole.
"Devour." He swung the katan forward and watched as the Witch summoned the thick green liquid to protect her. The sword pulled the liquid in as Lee Seng moved for another strike. The katana connected with the Witch's ethereal body as gold and Dark matter energy pulled her into the sword. She cried in pain as she ripped herself from the sword.
'That katana!' The witch grunted as she made distance. 'It sapped me! It sapped me!' She raised both of her hands up and snarled.
"If poisons won't work on you, then maybe this will! Icy Breath!" The Witch threw her hands forward as icy winds ripped from her hands. A cone of freezing cold air flew straight for Lee Seng as he began to slash wildly in front of him. The icy energy pulled into the sword and replenished his energy. The icy wind managed to fly past him, stinging part of his arm and freezing his muscles.
Lee Seng grunted as he pushed himself back, gripping at his shoulder.
'Her abilities are just as fast as her, maybe faster. I thought I could easily devour all of that but I guess I can't. What else could I do…?' Lee Seng wondered. His eyes wandered over to his allies. Keng was unconscious while Ritsuka was slowly making his way somewhere. 'What is he doing…?'
"Your speed won't save you from my attacks, Human!" The Witch pointed her bony finger at him. "I'll make sure to enjoy every bit of you!" The air around her distorted and icicles formed. They shot past her and flew straight for Lee Seng. Lee Seng's energy shifted into a more golden color.
Golden fox-fires erupted around him, shooting out at the icicles. The icicles flew straight through the flames, taking Lee Seng by surprise and piercing his body as he slashed to block the incoming damage. Icicles embedded themselves into his chest, legs and arms as he continued to ignore the pain.
The Dark Matter suit extended out to the icicles and pulled them inwards, releasing his restricted movements. His body burned as it tried to keep up with his injuries.
'This eats so much Dark Matter. I'll have to end this soon.' He thought as his eyes moved back to Keng and Ritsuka. 'Can I pull Keng back into me? Does that work?' He extended his hand but nothing happened. 'Maybe I'm too far…. I'm more worried about the Witch going for those two. What do I do now?'
