Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 2337  Authorities

Chapter 2337  Authorities

Pearl landed on a shield and slammed the weight and momentum of himself and his spear onto it. The shield warped under the attack, and the man behind it was pushed backward as a result of it.

He flung himself toward a woman on the ground, the same woman who seemed to be in charge of attacking him tonight. She was one of the many caught in the Qi-restricting pulse and thus didn't have a way to defend herself just yet.

So when Pearl was before her, she could only watch in horror as the spear poked through her eyes and came back on the other side.

Pearl swung the spear to the side, flinging the woman's body to the side. He wasn't sure if she was dead or not, but that was the last thing he had on his mind to check.

The only solace in this battle for him was the fact that no one was going after the kids. They were all there for him, to kill him for their young master and now their friends.

Pearl took on some of the hits with his own body and was already beginning to bleed quite badly. None of the attacks were life-threatening, but they were painful. Especially when he didn't yet have access to Qi.

His cultivation base was slowly working its way back to full, but it would take a while longer. That was alright though, as he had already sensed the many senses that had landed on him at the start of the fight.

While not even a minute had passed, people should already be on their way here.

Pearl had only just managed to dodge another attack and threw the entire weight of his body into his next attack when the entire area suddenly fell under a very strong aura.

Without their Qi, many of them couldn't even keep their head up. Pearl barely managed to thanks to his Body Cultivation.

He looked to the right and saw a small group of people in the sky, each wearing the robes of the Wineweed guild. The man who placed the aura in the area stood at the forefront, someone with a weak-looking body, but certainly no weak aura.

Pearl finally breathed a sigh of relief as a Divine realm cultivator had arrived.

Everyone there was quickly gathered and placed to the side with restrictive artifacts placed on them. Pearl was among them for now, placed into the group.

Pearl looked around, not very worried about his situation, but about the two kids. Where were they? Had they made it out alright?

He only felt fine after seeing the two off to the side, talking with two other members of the guild. "You again?" a man said. Pearl looked up. It was the same male figure he had seen last time when they were attacked.

"Were you attacked?" the man asked.

Pearl nodded. "They invaded my courtyard and attacked me. I had to run away," he said.

The man raised an eyebrow, looking at the many that were captured there. "You ran away… from them all?" he asked.

"Yes," Pearl said.

The man seemed reluctant to accept the fact. Pearl wanted to argue his case but kept shut. There was no point in explaining anything right now as he would have to explain it all over again to the other man who was clearly in charge.

The man in charge —the Divine realm cultivator— approached them after a few minutes and stood before them all.

"Who here is innocent?" the Divinity asked. Pearl looked up. "I am," he said.

"I am too," another man answered. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

"I was attacked. I'm innocent," another woman cried from off to the side.

"Quiet down, all 15 of you," the man said.

Pearl looked around. '15?' he thought. How many had he killed? How many had the explosion killed? He refused to believe he had killed 9 other people in the group. That was too many. Did that mean some of them had managed to escape somehow?

Pearl frowned. If they had escaped, then it was a bad situation for him. He hoped they had learned their lesson and wouldn't continue coming back for him, but he couldn't be so sure.

The Divinity walked over to one of the stronger Immortal to the side and halted before him. "State your name and your reason for coming to this city."

The Immortal looked up, a hint of fear in his eyes. "We… we have heard a lot about this city, so we came to visit it. The guild here is considered one of the best in the entire world, so we had to see it. That's why we came.

"When did you come?" the Divinity asked.

"3 weeks ago, senior," the Immortal answered.

"I see. So you area customer to our guild, are you?" the Divinity asked with a smile.

"Y-yes, senior," the Immortal said.

"Then you must be on our records. Tell me, what pills or ingredients did you buy from us, and on what day? We will check." His smile became wider.

The man's face fell at the words. He tried to come up with words, but he knew that anything he said here would be a lie. He had certainly bought pills in this city, but he hadn't visited the guild for it. He had only said he had to establish a connection. And it had failed.

"Who wants to tell the truth next?" the Divinity asked.

"I will," Pearl said. "I was the victim here. I was attacked in my own courtyard."

The Divinity walked over to him next. "Were you now?" he asked, seeming suspicious of Pearl too. He glanced all over his body and smiled. "Who else was with you?" he asked.

"Those two kids," Pearl said.

The Divinity looked over to the two and looked back. "And?" he asked.

"And?" Pearl asked back. He wasn't sure what else he was to say here.

"And who else was there?" the man asked.

"No one. Just these people who came to attack me," Pearl said.

The Divinity's smile widened.
