Chapter 628: 627 may not necessarily be a bad thing
The next day, Qin Mu arrived at the hotel early in the morning to have breakfast with them and then took them to the airport.
At the airport, while Bai Xiaoxiao and Wen Ran went to the restroom, Mo Xiuchen mentioned to Qin Mu, “Ah Mu, Ranran overheard Qin Ming’s phone call at the beauty salon yesterday afternoon, where she spoke about ‘Professor Fu’, and also mentioned something about ‘Mrs. Fu, Miss Bai’. Be extra vigilant these days.”
Upon hearing this, Qin Mu was taken aback and asked in surprise, “Does Fu Jingyi have a wife and daughter in China?”
Luo Haofeng, who was nearby, was also shocked. Mo Xiuchen swayed his gaze and his voice dropped. “Yes, Fu Jingyi has a wife and daughter.”
“Xiuchen, you knew this already?”
Qin Mu narrowed his eyes upon hearing the certainty in his voice.
Mo Xiuchen pressed his lips together and didn’t respond. His eyes darkened further. Last night, before Wen Ran went to sleep, she whispered in his ear, “Fu Jingyi has a wife and a daughter.”
Mo Xiuchen, who was just dozing off, was immediately wide awake when he heard it. Opening his tightly closed eyes, he stared at Wen Ran intently, “Ranran, how can you be so sure?”
Even with her eyes closed, Wen Ran could feel Mo Xiuchen’s intense gaze. She tightened her grip around his waist and buried her face in his chest, her voice filled with a hint of reluctance to recall the past, “Xiuchen, I have regained those memories.”
In that instant, Mo Xiuchen froze.
He looked at Wen Ran with indescribable complexity reflected in his eyes. A multitude of emotions overflowed from the depths of his gaze, much like a turbulent tide. Even his voice displayed an uncontrollable change of character, “Ranran, when did this happen?”
When had she regained that memory?
He could tell, her body trembled slightly within his embrace.
Whether it was due to traumatic childhood memories, he didn’t know, but he hugged her tightly, pressing her body close to his, hoping in this way to soothe her fear.
Her long eyelashes flickered lightly, and when she half opened her eyes, those clear orbs reflected his heart-wrenching expression. She forced a smile and spoke in a carefree tone, “Xiuchen, the night Fu Jingyi called me, I had a dream. In my dream, the blocked childhood memory was revived.”
“In the dream, I finally saw clearly the you that I had never been able to see clearly before. Back then, you were very skinny and frail, but your demeanor was indifferent and cold…just like the time when we had just married a few months ago…I remembered how I took you away that night, even though you were reluctant to leave…”
Listening to her recounting these moments in her soft and gentle voice, Mo Xiuchen felt a wave of emotion washing over him, unable to pin down his specific feelings. It was like he was reliving that night from many years ago.
The night he thought he would be tortured to death by those people was when she appeared before him, like an angel. Taking his hand, she felt cold, yet in that moment, he could feel an overwhelming warmth.
In the darkness of that night, he couldn’t even make out her features clearly. Yet, from that moment on, she had found a place in his heart, a memory he could never forget.
“Ranran!”
Mo Xiuchen lowered his head and gently kissed her soft lips, “Those memories aren’t pleasant, you don’t have to recall them.”
Instead of bringing up her terrifying childhood memories, Wen Ran embraced his neck, reciprocating his kiss, and mumbled, “Xiuchen, I love you!”
He looked towards the restroom and spoke in a low voice, “Ranran has regained her memory of her childhood. She told me herself.”
Qin Mu and Luo Haofeng were taken aback, “I thought Wen Ran’s memory of that time had been erased, how did she remember it again?”
A chill crept into Mo Xiuchen’s eyes, “It was due to Fu Jingyi’s call. That night, she had a dream about her blocked memories.”
That night, Bai Xiaoxiao had called him, saying Ranran had had a nightmare.
He had immediately rushed to the Wen Family’s home. After refusing to speak with him at first, Ranran finally agreed to talk after he spent the night sitting in his car outside the house. Then, not bearing to let him stay outside all night, she invited him in and he ended up sleeping in the room next door.
“Xiuchen, Wen Ran recalling it might not be a bad thing.”
Seeing Mo Xiuchen’s dark expression, Qin Mu knew he was disturbed because of Wen Ran’s childhood experiences. But to bring Fu Jingyi to justice sooner, he had to keep pressing on.
As soon as these words left Qin Mu’s mouth, Mo Xiuchen’s gaze turned sharp, “Ah Mu, don’t even think about it. I don’t want her to relive those cruel memories over and over again.”
Just last night, although Ranran had made a great effort to appear indifferent, he clearly felt her fear.

G City
Wen Jin and Gu Kai arrived at the airport early in the morning.
Last night, they had each received a call from Mo Xiuchen, informing them that they would be coming back today.
Once they saw the familiar group emerge from the security check, Wen Jin and Gu Kai glanced at each other and then towards Wen Ran, who was leading the group, and shuffled forward to greet them.
“Brother, Older Brother Gu!”
When they came out from the security check, Wen Ran greeted the two in front of her, where Wen Ran addressed Gu Kai as ‘Older Brother Gu’ in the presence of Wen Jin just to differentiate them.
Gu Kai didn’t mind – even if his younger sister’s address for Wen Jin was more affectionate than for him, Wen Jin’s affection for Ranran was far longer than his.
“Ranran, Ah Jin and I have been on display for an hour waiting here for you. If you guys didn’t show up soon, I was going to go wait in the car,” Gu Kai grumbled.
Despite the busy airport, brimming with handsome men and beautiful women, both he and Wen Jin exuded an aura even more appealing than any of the celebrities present. They had inevitably attracted the attention of the passing crowd. Some bold and beautiful women even approached them for a selfie.
Gu Kai, in particular, due to his profession as a doctor frequented by many, was recognized by a number of women who approached him to exchange pleasantry. At the sight of this, Wen Jin observed from the side with an inscrutable smile on his face, like he was enjoying a spectacle.
“Why did you guys come so early? Didn’t Xiuchen tell you the flight details?” asked Wen Ran, not holding back her laughter at Gu Kai’s irritated expression.
Mo Xiuchen stepped forward, pulling her into his arms, and casually said, “Ranran, I did tell Ah Kai the timing. It’s just that he thinks he looks so striking that he purposely came early to flaunt himself.”
“Xiuchen, when did you learn to lie with your eyes open? You told me that you would arrive in G City at 11 o’clock. But look, it’s already 12:15,” Gu Kai retorted, glaring at Mo Xiuchen. Wen Jin, standing nearby, stepped up for him, “Ranran, this time Ah Kai isn’t lying. Mo Xiuchen moved the time you guys landed forward by an hour.”
