"Diana?" Shane muttered.
The system's message announcing that he was the leader of the team didn't surprise him a bit. After all, he was at rank one on the Survivor Leaderboard even after the merge of regional servers.
What really shocked him instead was Diana's sudden appearance.
Indeed, Shane's heart skipped a beat as he saw the names of his teammates. Diana Wells, his younger step-sister, was here.
He hadn't expected to see her in this event… After all, why would she choose such a scary Zombie Apocalypse?
Of course, Diana was also shocked as she gently nodded to her older brother.
Although Shane was wearing a helmet that blocked most of his face, his voice and the announcement from the system made her sure that it was the Shane she knew…
She didn't expect to meet him at all as she thought that he was in another Apocalypse.
"It's good to see you, Brother Shane." Diana said, relieved that he was still alive. She was genuinely glad to see him, although they weren't that close.
"Yes… It's a good thing that you've survived so far… Where are you located?"
Shane said, but he suddenly recalled that there was another person present. He then glanced at Sandra Cross, the third member of their team, and nodded…
"Let's add each other as friends for now." Shane said as he added Diana to his friend list.
"Yes…" Diana replied, and Sandra considered for a moment before adding the two as well.
In this event, they have to have some level of trust with each other in order to get better results. It was better to befriend each other as early as possible.

"Three Light Armored Zombies…"
After reading the notification, Shane nodded and gathered Diana and Sandra close.
"Alright, we need to strategize. This is our first time facing Light Armored Zombies, but from their name, we can assume they have decent protection. We might need piercing skills to get through their armor. What are your abilities?"
Diana smiled and shared what he could do… "I'm actually a craftsman. I can forge and repair weapons, but I only have two offensive skills. They don't have an armor penetration attribute… Right, my main weapon is my hammer."
Shane nodded, absorbing the information. "A craftsman, huh? That could be useful for maintaining our gear."
"Yes… I also have a couple of three Rare-Grade pistols with me…" Diana added.
"Alright… What about you, Sandra?" Shane asked.
Sandra hesitated before speaking…
"I have a Flight Talent. I can fly, but it consumes 10 Spirit Points per second. I only have 230 Spirit Points, so I can fly for 23 seconds. But I can't push myself to the limit; it would hurt too much if I fell."
Sandra wryly smiled as she revealed her talent. "I have crossbows, javelins, and devil-face mushroom powder with me… I normally spread this powder in the air to solidify the Zombie Blood and make them unable to move. However, it only works on low-tier Zombies and some weaker mid-tier Zombies."
"Ahh… There's something like that?" Shane asked, as he had never heard about this powder at all.
"Yes… I bought it from a wandering merchant before. He never told me about its limitations, and I almost died that time." Sandra replied as she recalled how she tried it on Crypt Crawler Zombies and failed miserably.
Shane nodded at this, understanding why they were teamed up with a Rank 1 like him.
They, indeed, have terrible fighting capabilities.
"Alright, it's clear why we're together. It's fine… I don't expect you to be strong fighters, but knowing your abilities helps. I'll assist you both as much as I can."
Shane then reached into his inventory and handed each of them a couple of items. "Here, take these. One is a Healing Token, and the other is called Pixie Oak Safety Token. Appraise them to see how they work…"
Shane said as he provided the two with the tokens he hadn't sold to Lord Kang Zhen yet.
Diana and Sandra accepted the items. They didn't expect that they would be able to get some mysterious items from their leader.
"Thank you, Shane," Diana and Sandra said, gripping the tokens tightly.
After a few moments, they realized its effect and felt overwhelmed!
First of all, the Healing Token was called Crimson Heart Healing Token, and with just 2 Spirit Points, they could recover 30% of their maximum health instantly!
It was already surprising since the healing medicines, pills, or potions they knew would have taken a lot of time to take effect, and the recovery wasn't even that great.
However, the one they just received had an instantaneous effect!
The Pixie Oak Safety Token, on the other hand, doesn't just restore 50% of their maximum health but also grants a Protection Shield that could last for 30 seconds! Though activation was costly, they wouldn't mind that as long as they possessed another method to save themselves.
Lastly, there was a remark from the system that it was made by Shadow Strider! There was no way they didn't know about the number 1 Survivor!
"You're Shadow Strider!" Diana and Sandra said in unison, shocked at the realization that they had teamed up with the strongest Survivor ever!
Shane gave them a reassuring smile. "Yes…"
Diana and Sandra immediately felt relieved as they knew that they wouldn't die today with him as their teammate!
'We're saved!'
