Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle

Chapter 403 Strange Survivor Talent

Diana saw from the map that Shane was moving quickly to reach their location. She just has to trust her brother and endure for the time being.

"Our reinforcement is coming! Just hold your ground!" Diana shouted as she took out all of her exploding knives and hatchet.

The others also felt relieved that they really had helpers coming to their rescue.

With this news, everyone felt invigorated as they fought back with all their might. The sound of breaking chains and gunfire filled the surrounding area as they used everything in their arsenal.

But just as they began to gain ground, the familiar hateful leader's voice rang out again, filled with malice.

"You think you can defeat us? You're just prolonging your suffering. I have more tricks up my sleeve!"

From behind his group, he took out his special paper talisman with golden characters written on it.

"Amplify!"

Just from its name, Diana could guess that the effect of this mystical Talisman could actually boost his allies.

As expected, just by looking at the enemies' eyes, she could tell that she had guessed it right. From their bloodshot eyes, she knew that the golden Talisman amplified the strength of his reinforcements. Perhaps even their Spirit Points had increased because of this.

The ground shook, and just like that, larger chains and fireballs surged toward Diana's group in overwhelming numbers!

"Fall back!" Gregor shouted, realizing the tides were turning again.

"We can't take them all at once!"

Diana's mind raced as they found themselves on the defensive. "Retreat to the higher ground! We can regroup there!" she commanded.

They quickly maneuvered back, climbing the rocky terrain as the enemy leader's forces pressed forward… Seeing that their targets were fleeing desperately, he knew that victory was already within his grasp.

He saw that these women weren't ordinary. They were also very attractive, and their clan leader would surely reward him if he was able to capture them.

With the special Seastone Handcuff that he had purchased in the Reputation Store, he could guarantee that any he caught would not be able to fight back at all.

'But those armors are just too annoying… Where did they get those? Are they Master Grade Armor?' The man thought as he looked at the full body armor worn by the axe and halberd users .

With their armor shielding them from the worst of the attacks, they managed to ascend to a higher vantage point.

Gregor and Kaela truly made use of the Armored Sentinel Set.

At this point, the enemy leader's forces paused at the bottom of the hill, regrouping as they prepared for another assault.

"We need to hold them off while we figure out our next move," Sandra said, catching her breath. "We can't let them corner us."

Diana nodded, her gaze fixed on the enemies below. "We'll find a way to turn this around…"

As she said this, she took out her remaining items to prepare…

They did their best to hold on, but the number of bullets, fireballs, and black chains was just too much!

The enemies weren't planning to wait for their reinforcement.

Now that they had nowhere else to hide, they could just make a last stand in this area.

"Ahh!"

"What's that?!"

Gregor and Kaela were prepared to sacrifice their lives, but just as the fireballs were about to rain down on their group, a roaring engine echoed through the battlefield.

"This…" Even the enemies were alarmed as they thought that they had missed a Giant Zombie…

However, Diana immediately knew who it was…

It was Shane, her brother!

He suddenly burst onto the scene on his sleek motorbike. Dust and debris flew as he skidded to a halt in front of Gregor and Kaela, who had been warned by Diana that he was their reinforcement! This motorbike was actually a part of the Rare Transport Gift Pack!

Without missing a beat, Shane raised his hand, and a magical barrier enveloped the group, deflecting the incoming fireballs!

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Needless to say, it was Shane's Aura of Protection, and he spent 1,000 Spirit Points on that to ensure its durability.

'So strong?' Shane mused as he realized that his Aura of Protection was already about to collapse. It only shows that the enemies were most likely using Master Grade level attacks!

After adding 500 more Spirit Points, however, he was able to easily fix this problem. The attacks no longer threatened his defense!

'Tsk… I have to get more of those Spirit Stones…' Shane mused as he looked at his dome of Aura.

Just like he intended, the almost invisible barrier only rippled from the bombardment, showing how tough it was.

"That's Shane, my brother. He's our ally… He's here to save us." Diana reminded once again after seeing that Gregor and Kaela were still being wary of Shane.

Shane didn't introduce himself and simply nodded at the two Legendary Recruits of his two friends.

Nonetheless, he swiftly dismounted his bike and extended his arm.

He had to kill these people who were trying to kidnap his sister.

With a wave of his hand, he summoned the Sentinel Mk-IV Automated Turret. The Turret materialized with mechanical gears activating… Its design was completely modern, showing that it was truly an advanced weaponry.

"Activate!" Shane commanded, and the Turret sprang to life, its sensors locking onto the enemy forces. This shout was also filled with Titan's Roar, pressuring the enemies and stunning them for a brief moment. These few seconds disrupt the activation of their Paper Talismans and the Turret took its opportunity!

Brrrtt~

Soon, the Turret's barrels rotated, and a barrage of energy bullets erupted, slicing through the air….

"Aahhh! It's a machine gun!"

"Crap! Use Earth Talismans hurry!"

"Get the smokes scree---Aack!"

"My arm! My arm! I'll never forgive you!"

"Let's run! We're going to die here!"

The enemies scrambled to summon their defenses, but the Turret's energy bullet was unstoppable to these people who only had defenses that were effective against physical damage.

With the energy bullet's mystical energy, it was too much for them to withstand two or three of them.

Nonetheless, several Talisman Energy Shields flickered and shattered under the barrage of the Turret. Whether they hide behind trees or rocks, they would be utterly hit!

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Just like that, the enemies fell one by one as the Turret fired.

[ You have eliminated a human survivor. ]

[ You have eliminated a human survivor. ]

[ You have eliminated a human survivor. ]

This same message repeated a few more times…

Shane only had to maintain his Aura of Protection and stay in his position… If he finds anyone able to escape the range of his Turret, that is the time he will make his move.

However, this appeared to be an impossible task as the Turret was unstoppable at this point. Even with the smokescreen and various covers they used, one they were locked it would use everything it had to eliminate the target!

Soon, Shane realized that the Turret started using incendiary bombs against those Survivors who had strange abilities to dodge or block the energy bullets.

The enemy leader, watching in disbelief, tried to rally his four or five remaining forces.

"Don't let them intimidate you! We can still win this!" he shouted, but his words did nothing to them…

Shane's eyes narrowed as he focused on the leader with the most number of talismans in his hands.

"Cloud… Just end this…"

[ Affirmative. ]

Soon, the Turret fired a concentrated energy bullet and struck the leader's defenses! Boom!

The defense made of strange light immediately crumbled under the powerful attack. The Talisman they had been relying on was completely destroyed in a flash of light!

Indeed, no talisman, armor, or anything could stop it.

The remaining enemies, seeing their leader's defeat, faltered and began to retreat. However, it was already too late…n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

"It's done… You really did it… What is that motorbike? How can it be so fast?" Diana asked.

"Finally… Ahem… Thank you for your immediate response, Clan Leader." Sandra said with a bow of gratitude. She really thought that it was already her end.

However, at this time, Shane's eyes locked on the leader, who lay motionless after being struck by the last concentrated bullet.

There was a huge hole in his chest, and his heart was already gone. However, Shane's Heightened Awareness was triggered.

'Will he explode? No… I think I didn't notice a system message when he died… Is he still alive in that condition? How?' Shane mused…

But since something felt off, he knew he had to be cautious.

There was only one possible reason why this person was still alive, even with a gaping hole in its body…

'It must be his Survivor Talent!'

Cautiously, Shane approached the fallen leader, his pistol drawn and ready.

He aimed at the leader's head, intending to finish him off and ensure the threat was truly neutralized. But just as he was about to pull the trigger, the leader's eyes snapped open!
