Chapter 204: Consequences of Poking Victorious Dragons III
#56th minute…
Despite having taken the lead, Porto did not stand down, and neither did they reduce their attacks, in fact, they attacked even more strongly than before, and in desperation, a Moreirense defender made a rough tackle on Jason who had just received a pass from Tiquiniho Soares inside the 18-yard box.
*Fweeeeeeee*
The referee’s whistle immediately went off and the referee came running with his hand pointed to the penalty spot in the Moreirense penalty box.
He also showed the Moreirense player who had made the tackle a yellow card.
Porto had gained a penalty just five minutes after they had taken the lead in the game for the first time in the match and now they were about to extend their lead with it.
Telles stepped up to take the penalty as already previously agreed by the players since Telles was the dead-ball specialist of the team.
Jason would rather that he was the one to take the penalty, especially since he was the one who had gotten the penalty in the first place, but he couldn’t go against the team’s tactics.
Telles didn’t waste any time in sending the ball into the bottom right corner of the goal despite the Moreirense goalkeeper’s efforts, swiftly sending his team two goals into the lead with a well-taken penalty.{Cool, calm, collected, the goalkeeper stood no chance!}
{Porto have extended their lead to two here and it’s looking like the way back for Moreirense is gradually being shut off!}
{Can Moreirense find their way back even after this, or does Porto still have more for them in store?} The commentator’s voice served as a backdrop for the fans who were watching Telles celebrate his goal with fervor.
After the celebrations’ the teams once again began moving back to their positions to await kick-off, but the gait of the Moreirense players as they walked back to their positions was noticeably dejected and lacking in morale.
#60th minute…
Porto were once again back on the attack as they poked at the Moreirense team’s back line which was already in danger of collapsing due to the continuous attacks from the Porto team and their own low morale.
Luis Diaz on the left had just received the ball and he immediately made to run at the Moreirense right back that stood in his way, but the right-back stood his ground and treaded carefully around Diaz so Diaz didn’t have any space to get away and opted for passing the ball back to Telles.
Seeing that the players in the middle of the field were being marked tightly, he opted for a long cross-field pass, so he quickly sent the ball over the middle of the field to the right side of the field where Jason awaited the ball.
Jumping into the air to catch the ball with a Neymar-style, behind-the-back side-heel flick, Jason brought the ball down to the ground with amazing skill that would have garnered cheers from the crowd if they were at the stadium.
Of course, the fans were actually cheering after seeing Jason’s skill to control the ball, but their noise couldn’t reach Jason at the stadium.
After bringing the ball under control, Jason immediately took off down the right wing.
He soon came face to face with the Moreirense left back, but with a quick shift of the ball and a sudden burst of speed, Jason escaped the left back’s tackle and ran past him down the right side of the field, however, the Moreirense left back didn’t give up on stopping Jason and chased after him, but Jason didn’t stop running.
After reaching the right side of the Moreirense 18-yard box, Jason suddenly swung his right leg back as if to cross the ball into the box, and seeing Jason’s move, the left back immediately jumped into a tackle to block Jason’s cross, but Jason simply faked the cross while the Moreirense left back went to the ground.
Quickly picking himself up, the Moreirense left back lunged at Jason in a bid to snatch the ball back, but his rash moments were easy for Jason to see through as he smoothly kept the ball out of the reach of the player’s leg with smooth ball movements before finally nutmegging the left back squeezing past him, leaving the embarrassed player eating his dust before crossing the ball to Moussa Marega.
Marega didn’t allow Jason’s efforts to go to waste as he muscled his way through the Moreirense center-backs and smashed the ball past the Moreirense goalkeeper with his first touch on the ball.
{GOAL!!!}
{Porto refuses to be stopped and they pile on the misery of Moreirense!}
{It’s been barely three minutes after they got their third, but now they’re on four!}
{Is there even a way back for Moreirense here!?}
{You can see the joy on the face of the goalscorer as he goes to thank the winger who set him up after utterly destroying his marker and leaving everyone wondering if the space in between his legs are really that wide!}
{Beautiful teamwork goal!} The commentator’s words were a bit harsh on the Moreirense player, but Jason’s act of making a fool of him with the ball was bound to hurt more than the commentator’s words ever could.
The Porto fans were cheering at the top of their voices in their homes after watching the goal scored by their team as the goal was a sight to see.
Right from Telles’s crossfield pass to Jason all the way to the final pass to Marega, every touch of Jason on the ball had been absolutely magical and he had left everyone wondering if the Moreirense left-back had ever even received defender training with the way Jason had simply carried him along and had used him as a side character to make himself look good on the ball.
Jason’s splendid run was a statement to the defender that was hammered home and left no one curious,
“You aren’t my match!” his skills said and he couldn’t be any louder than what he already did.
Any further and the player may have to visit a psychiatrist to treat his mental injuries.
