Herald of Steel

Chapter 1397 Plans for the New Kilns

Fabiyana was unable to understand even half of what the others were talking about, leading her to widen her childlike, limpid eyes and naively ask,

"Ehhh? Does Elder sister Tayin need to sleep with everyone to get a baby? Won't just sleeping with big brother do it?"

The sweet chirping tone and the innocence held within became all the more pronounced by the fact that she took the phrase 'sleeping together' literally.

Even now the twelve year old thought babies were magically created by a man and woman marrying and then laying together on the same bed.

"....." The rest of the room had to try very hard not to laugh by pursing their lips, knowing otherwise it would anger the feisty little girl.

…..

The night for Ophenia would prove to be a very rewarding one.

She was first stripped of all of her clothes, revealing her fair, curvy, hourglass body, which was then quickly set upon by four very hungry beasts.

On the top, her pair of heavy, soft, breasts were grabbed by Gelene and Mean, who began to fondle and suckle them with great enthusiasm.

The black beauty was particularly rough with her teasing, nibbling on the pink bud while playing with the dangling rings,

"Mmmm, so you have stopped lactating sister. That's too bad! Master liked drinking your milk. Let him fix that for you tonight!"

The congratulatory words however clearly contained a bit of bitterness, as Gelene was the only one here without a child, whereas the girl beside her was getting a second one.

Thus she was determined to bully this girl tonight as much as her master would allow.

And this worked, the pleasure of her sensitive chest being played with driving poor Ophenia to let out many panted moans.

But her mind became truly delirious upon feeling the pleasures streaking down from her lower half, being attended upon by Alexander and Cambyses.

"Ahhh, no master! That's…mmmm,"

Ophenia particularly let out a wretched screech as she felt Alexander part her luscious buttcheeks and stick his tongue into her wrinkled bud, making her feel both ashamed and excited.

But before she could try to push him away, she felt a tug on her clit ring by Cambyses, as another warm tongue invaded her pristine flower.

Ophenia was thus made to reach climax in such a lewd state multiple times until she could barely stand on her own.

Then she was mounted and taken in various ways, all while the other girls kissed, fondled, and teased her in every way possible.

Alexander would also stay true to condition and only take Ophenia for the tonight, leaving the other three to find various creative ways to cool their lust.

...…

Alexander would wake up the next morning to find the poor girl in a terrible shape, sprawled on the bed haphazardly with bite marks, and red streaks all over her chest and tummy, marked with very suggestive white dried lines.

Her long silky hair had a certain, musky stickiness to it and her lower half was… an absolute mess, inflamed and filled to the brim with cream.

The only clue that this violent mating ritual was consensual was the extremely satisfied smile still hanging on the gorgeous face.

Ophenia had not only relished the teasing, she in fact wanted it even harder, asking the four to drive her even more insane.

Recalling the previous night's events thus instantly made Alexander want to go for another round.

But he ultimately held back fearing he might break the girl for real this time.

He also had a senate meeting this morning,

...…

Alexander would raise Ophenia's idea on that very day, much to all the lord's appreciation.

"As expected of the head priestess. She too is divinely guided."

"Yes! Only the gods could have given such a simple solution to such a seemingly impossible dilemma! Haha."

"Mmmm, we have no problem in the lord granting her a title in light of this. The chief priestess deserves it and more."

Alexander retold the lords succinctly of Ophenia's idea, followed by the reward he wanted to give, just to see how the nobles would react.

And he found that lords were generally in favor, with none of them protesting despite Ophenia being a priestess.

Now, perhaps if one overthought it, this might have been because of some wanting to see Alexander trip up- have the people protesting such a move. The clergy were in general not supposed to own land or property.

But in this context, this was too far fetched.

The people had a very favorable impression of Alexander, with all the jobs and life improvements he had given them.

Some of them might still resent him, such as all the captured slaves and prisoners of war, but for most of the people the new roads, the clean streets, the safe neighborhoods, the new housing, and even the multiple victories in battles were more than enough to keep them placated.

Not to mention simply gifting his high priestess, who was also his wife, a plot of land did not affect even the most minute aspects of their everyday life.

Most of the commoners would likely not even know that a new 'Lady' had been born.

So the only problems who could have a problem with Alexander were the nobles themselves.

But once again, Alexander was too strong for any of them to even consider butting heads head on.

If they had that strength, they most likely would not have even come under his rule.

So aware of their limits, all of them played the part of the enthusiastic, cheering crowd, fully supporting the lord's decision.

….

Then once the fervor died down, they quickly shifted their attention to the real deal.

All of their first instinct was to start building the kilns right away, preferably just outside the city's walls.

In this way, the kilns would be close to the balling machines and they were also already making bricks there anyway, so much of the basic transport, lodging, and management infrastructure was already there.

But Alexander soon reminded them that they getting a bit ahead of themselves

If the problem could be solved just by building a few kilns, why would they have waited till Ophenia's solution?

So rather than building more kilns, what they had to build were the waterwheels for mixing the powdered cement and gypsum.

Which meant sending people up the Cisran hills, looking for huge, powerful springs, or very fast flowing small streams.

"We will see it done, my lord." The proposal was met with an instant acceptance by the lords, led by Harun, the former mining supervisor turned lord and a part of Alexander's small council.

As for the kilns, well…Alexander intended to build them actually in Tibias.

This controversial decision brought some resistance even from Alexander's closest retainers, who naturally wished to have it in their territory.

Hence one party complained,

"My lord, Tibias is a recently conquered land. There are still bands of resistance and pockets of traitors hiding. It would not be good for the kilns to fall into their hands… gods unwilling! It will be safer in our territory."Nôv(el)B\\jnn

While the other part, consisting mostly of the older, Zanzan nobles, cited patriotically,

"These kilns should use Adhanian labor. These kilns belong to us. How can we let Tibians learn of our secrets?"

Discrimination was firmly ingrained in their rhetoric.

But Alexander eventually put these voices to rest, using the economy as the main reason!

Standing up from his high podium, his loud voice was amplified by the dome shape of the senate building,

"My lords, the people in Zanzan already have quite a high standard of living compared to the other parts of the lands. Just yesterday, I went around the city and noticed many people wearing new clothes and buying meat and fish in droves. This is very good. We have created many jobs and let everyone have at least a basic level of living."

"But at the same time, I also observed many of the prices in the markets were significantly higher than what they were just before I left. Now I know many of you think this is just the businesses hoarding goods. So I asked the various shopkeepers about it."

"All of them told me the same thing- everyone is asking for more wages- the dock workers want more to unload cargo, the cart drivers want more to move the goods, and the shop assistants want more to work. Even the cost of things like timber and carpenters building the shops have gone up."

"All this is because we have a shortage of men here. The workers charge more because they know they can, and the shopkeepers are forced to accept these high demands because they have no other choice."

"And then, having earned this great amount, these same workers try to outbid each other for limited things like meat, wine, fish, clothes, jewelry. The shopkeepers also take advantage of this bidding war to sell to the highest bidder."

"This is a vicious cycle and we must stop it before it gets out of control. We have to find a way to increase the supply of men and essential materials while preventing any further increases in demand."

"So starting such labor intensive new projects here now of all time hardly seems prudent."
