Chapter 162: 【162】Meeting Jiang Zi Again_1
Chapter 162: 【162】Meeting Jiang Zi Again_1
Tang Feng and Xu Xinling didn’t stay long in the antique shop.
Since the address sent by Zhou Bingrui was a bit far from there, it would take nearly an hour to drive.
So after retrieving his car, he immediately took Xu Xinling and headed straight for the arranged meet-up location.
Since they happened to hit the evening rush hour, the road was extremely congested.
That’s when Tang Feng’s driving mastery came into play.
The Ferrari F8 moved like a fish in the sea, darting through every gap.
“Wow…”
Xu Xinling was incredibly excited sitting in the passenger seat.
Her own driving skills were not great; she wouldn’t dare drive like this normally.
But she had a gene for adventure.
If it had been any other girl, they probably would have been screaming in terror by now.
Yet she still thought he was driving too slowly and kept urging Tang Feng to go faster.
It made Tang Feng roll his eyes.
In the midst of rush hour traffic, driving at this speed was already pushing it.
Any faster, and they might take off.
Eventually, worn out by her nagging, he gave up on overtaking and resignedly queued up behind other cars.
“Wow, young master, I didn’t expect you to be so good at driving?” Xu Xinling couldn’t contain her excitement as her dark, ink-like eyes curiously sized him up.
“Piece of cake; it’s all routine operation.” Tang Feng said with a modest tone the most boastful words.
Xu Xinling stared at him blankly for a while before suddenly asking, “Young master, is there anything you can’t do?”
Tang Feng instantly blushed at her question.
That was pretty much the highest praise.
“Actually… there are still many things I can’t do,” he said awkwardly, fiddling with the steering wheel.
“You have things you can’t do? Let’s hear them. Maybe I know how, and I can teach you,” Xu Xinling suddenly perked up.
In the time she had interacted with Tang Feng, it seemed like he was capable of everything.
Now, finally hearing him admit to not knowing something felt strangely exciting.
“For example, ‘kissing,’ making ‘love,’ I’m not very good at those. Do you know how?” After saying this, Tang Feng put on an inquisitive look.
Luckily, Xu Xinling was educated and understood the meaning of these two words, her pretty face turning visibly red at breakneck speed.
“I don’t know how to either.”
“Then maybe we can explore that together when we have the chance.”
“Explore with your big head, ghost!”
Xu Xinling swore with a laugh and hurriedly turned her head to look out the window.
Suddenly feeling the temperature in the car rising, she broke out in a sweat.
Tang Feng knew when to stop and didn’t continue with the risqué topic.
Looking in the rearview mirror, the car behind him was a good distance away.
Clearly, they were keeping their distance because they saw how expensive his car was.
This reminded him of the old days when he would give wide berth to such luxury cars on the street.
If he accidentally scratched one, he could go bankrupt trying to pay for it.
But now, he was one of the ones with the luxury cars.
Now others were the ones keeping their distance.
It’s funny how the world works.
Nobody knows what the next second might bring.
The traffic was so congested that the journey, which was supposed to take an hour, ended up taking one and a half hours.
By the time the two reached the upscale restaurant named “Lidun” that Zhou Bingrui had booked, it was nearly seven o’clock.
After parking the car, Tang Feng was about to lead Xu Xinling into the restaurant when he saw a group of people walking out of it.
“Miss Jiang, let me give you a ride home,” a balding middle-aged man offered, as he attempted to wrap his arms around a woman beside him.
Tang Feng halted in his tracks when he saw the woman.
She was none other than Jiang Zi.
She appeared to have drunk too much, teetering as she walked.
However, she clearly retained a semblance of sense as she subtly dodged the man’s greasy paw, “Thank you, Mr. Liu, but it’s out of your way. I can just take a taxi home.”
Her refusal was quite clear, but the man persisted, shamelessly moving in again, “Why take a taxi? So wasteful of money, huh? My Mercedes S-Class is much more comfortable than a cab, isn’t it?”
“I’m sorry, Mr. Liu, there’s really no need,” she insisted.
Jiang Zi staggered to avoid his advancing face and would have fallen if not for a woman beside her who steadied her.
The man, faced with rejection twice, was clearly displeased, his face souring as he turned to another middle-aged man, “Mr. Qian, your employee doesn’t seem to show much respect.”
The one he addressed as “Mr. Qian” hastily laughed off the tension, but then glanced at Jiang Zi with disapproval, “Since Mr. Liu is kindly offering, you should just take his car home.”
Jiang Zi’s eyes burned with anger, “I said I would take a taxi home.”
Mr. Qian surely knew what Mr. Liu was up to; it couldn’t merely be about a ride home.
This was clearly a sacrifice of her to please a big client.
“Jiang Zi, Mr. Liu is a major client of our company. If you dare to upset him, you know the consequences,” Mr. Qian threatened when she continued to resist.
Jiang Zi defiantly glared at him, “When we came here, you said it was just for a drink, nothing else.”
Mr. Qian laughed her words off, “You’ve been with the company for a while now; you can’t tell me you don’t know what it means to be brought out here?”
“Don’t worry, if you make Mr. Liu happy, you’ll be the company’s hero. Not only will there be a huge bonus, but you could also be promoted to vice manager. Think about it carefully.”
“I… I don’t care… ugh…”
Mid-sentence, Jiang Zi felt the alcohol surge up, hurriedly running to a nearby trash can to vomit.
The sleazy Mr. Liu seized the opportunity, quickly stepping forward with concern, “Miss Jiang, are you alright?”
“I can’t feel at ease letting you take a cab in this state, come with me instead,” he said, and attempted to drape his arm around her.
“What are you doing? You filthy pervert,” Jiang Zi snapped, shoving his hand away, glaring furiously at him.
“You ungrateful bitch, I’m trying to be nice here, right? We’re all in this world trying to get by. Why are you still playing coy? Today I’ve set my mind on you. You’re coming with me, like it or not,” the oily Mr. Liu said, his irritation turning into anger, attempting to forcibly take Jiang Zi away.
Just then, a hand extended from behind and squeezed his shoulder.
“She’s already turned you down, so why do you keep buzzing around like an annoying fly?”
