“Hmm?” Jingzhi was puzzled.

Lu Ting pursed her lips, uncertainly saying, “It was the day sister came back, I heard mom and dad talking about donating a building to the school…”

Her voice grew quieter as she spoke, eventually dismissing her own thought.

“But Shengyang High School is known for its fairness, they definitely wouldn’t accept donations.”

“Are you sure?”

Jingzhi’s gaze darkened, and it was unclear what he was thinking.

“I don’t know, I’m not sure.” Lu Ting regretfully added, “Big brother, don’t tell mom and dad about this, I’m afraid they might think I’m trying to stir up trouble.”

Jingzhi initially thought it was odd, but after hearing Lu Ting say that, he dismissed the idea that Lu Ting was tattling to him.

After all, Lu Ting was so well-behaved, she wouldn’t do such a thing.

“Don’t worry, I won’t tell,” Jingzhi said with a deep frown.

Given mom and dad’s doting on Qiao Yun, donating a building is not out of the question.

But that day… mom and dad seemed genuinely surprised that Qiao Yun got into Shengyang.

Is it possible that mom and dad only found out that day that Shengyang agreed to admit Qiao Yun because of their donation?

Recently, there really has been a new experimental building under construction at Shengyang High School, apparently, it is specifically for a student of notable status, a move so extravagant it’s astounding.

Jinghzi’s emotions were like a roller coaster, rising and falling; he didn’t say anything more to Lu Ting and walked up the stairs.

Lu Ting watched Jinghzi’s departing figure, a cold smirk playing on her lips.

She would never let Qiao Yun steal her big brother!

After climbing the stairs, Jingzhi stood silently for a moment before knocking on Qiao Yun’s door.

Qiao Yun opened a crack in the door, peering out at Jingzhi, whom she hadn’t seen in a long time, and asked distantly, “What is it?”

“Can I come in?” Jingzhi nodded, “I need to talk about something.”

Their gazes met, Qiao Yun as aloof as ever.

After a while, Qiao Yun stepped aside and said languidly, “I also have something to tell you.”

Surprised, Jingzhi raised his eyebrows. It was practically a miracle—Qiao Yun actually wanted to talk to him?

After entering, Jingzhi looked around the room, noting its uniform pink color, but it was very tidy and sparse.

So sparse, it seemed like the room was more for staying overnight than living in.

Jingzhi felt somewhat uneasy about this thought.

Qiao Yun sat in an office chair and pointed to a stool next to her, “Sit.”

Jingzhi’s mouth twitched at her mature demeanor, finding it somewhat endearing.

His eyes swept across the computer screen, only catching a glimpse of a large sphere engulfing some bizarre codes.

Not understanding, he assumed it was some obscure game.

“Playing a game again?” Jingzhi asked sternly.

Qiao Yun corrected him, “I’m making money.”

“…”

“Earning gold coins, that kind? How many have you made?”

“Ah.” Qiao Yun blinked, hesitated for a moment, but decided not to lie, “A few billion, I guess.”

“No matter how much money, it’s still virtual. Is the game really that fun?” Jingzhi was somewhat speechless—playing so long, just for those virtual billions?

“If you’re short on cash, I can give you some, how about $50,000 to start with? You’re still a student so you shouldn’t handle too much money.”

Qiao Yun: “…”

“Not enough? How about $100,000?”

Then Jinghzi seemed to see Qiao Yun rolling her eyes at him in disdain???

Qiao Yun furrowed her little brows, “It’s not virtual.”

He had clearly seen the game, yet Qiao Yun was still arguing. Jingzhi felt incredibly disappointed—it seemed like the donation story was half-true after all.

Qiao Yun tapped her fingers on the desk, changing the subject, “I want to talk about something regarding Lu Ting.”

Jingzhi paused, his expression puzzled.
