Chapter 247 Koo Hye-Sun
Her first time in Los Angeles, nothing could have been worse than losing the bag containing the passport and invitation letter. It was stolen at the airport. She called the police, but it didn't help.
They told her it would take some time to sort out her belonging. The agent who came with her loudly reprimanded the police for incompetence. Only he knew how famous his artist was, but nothing worked.
Due to his outburst, he was charged with obstructing official duties by the police and had to spend some time behind the bar. Fortunately, they contacted the embassy and released him on bail.
They also helped them acquire accommodation as they knew of her unique identity.
On the day of the press conference, they thought it would work out when they explained it to the organizers; after all, the press conference was the main reason for their visit to the USA.
But as she expected, she was directly stopped by the staff at the venue. It might be her fault for her crappy English, as she could not convey her circumstances. The agent, who was arrogant till, was even more useless.
Even though gestures didn't work, the staff was cordial with her despite her not having an invitation letter. She was just about to give up when she heard a male voice on the red carpet saying something to the security guard.
She didn't understand, but it was barely enough to understand a few words like an invite, let her go or something. As a result, the staff member who was hesitant before let them go immediately.
Koo Hye-sun looked at the young man in front of her. She had never seen such a handsome young man in the domestic entertainment industry.
What was more surprising was the two girls beside him. They were rare beauties and were glowing, standing with him. She resolved herself to express her gratefulness to the other party.
...
...
Samuel helping the girl was captured by reporters as they showered him with countless flashes burning their films at an astronomical level. It was a rare chance for them to observe him in more natural poses while talking with others.
"Thank you, My name is Koo Hye-sun. I am from..." As usual, her broken English could have sounded better.
"You don't have to force yourself; I speak Korean fluently. You can communicate with me directly." Samuel interrupted her self-introduction; listening to it was very tiring.
"Ah, that's great, thank you so much for this." Koo Hye-sun breathed a sigh of relief when she heard that the other party could speak Korean.
"Well, now is not the time to talk, let's finish the red carpet first, and then we can talk inside."
After signalling the other party to go in, Samuel took the girls through the rest of the red carpet. It was not good to keep the old man waiting.
"Sami, do you know each other?" Liliana asked suspiciously. Rosaline also seemed interested in her question.
"Well. you could say I know of her. She is a emerging Korean actress. Darren is a huge fan, he will be stoked when I tell him I met her."
At the end of the red carpet was a small signing ceremony. The presenters gave him a signature pen while directing him toward the giant Armani logo on the wall.
Samuel signed it and urged the girls to do the same; of course, Rosaline was a bit clumsy and only wrote her name; it would be too much to ask of her to prepare a signature on the spot.
Koo Hye-sun saw that the other party had left first and quickly adjusted her state. It was her time to shine as she smiled charmingly while walking inside. It was essential to give a few poses for the newspaper!
However, American reporters did not know the star was from Korea due, to which very few people responded. When she found that she was unpopular, she could only feel helpless due to a lack of recognition.
There are indeed a lot of Asian-Pacific celebrities yearning for recognition in Hollywood, but how many of them succeeded?
The most famous was Kung fu master Jackie Chan, who was currently trending for appearing in recent comedies. Other than him, no other Asian star was recognized by the western public.
But she didn't know that the next decade was about the Hallyu wave. It was a future she couldn't predict yet, but Samuel, he had already made comprehensive plans to capitalize on it.
She took the signature pen at the end of the red carpet and signed her name in an inconspicuous corner. At this moment, Koo Hye-sun felt aggrieved and wanted to cry.
" No, you must be strong and not let the others look down on them. After all, it was my job to represent the best of my country" She cheered up again and confidently walked into the venue.
Not far away, the young man who had helped her before was waving toward her. Samuel waited for her to catch up because he wanted to take pictures with her. That was the sure-shot way to make Darren jealous!
"It may be a very lucky to meet this man." She thought as she walked toward them.
....
....
....
She quickly walked towards Samuel, who was waiting with Rosaline and Liliana.
"Mister Thank you very much for your previous help. I am Koo Hye-sun, an actor from South Korea. Can you tell me your name?" She was respectful in her tone.
"My name is Samuel. This is my girlfriend Liliana and Rosaline. You don't need to introduce yourself Miss Hye-sun, I have seen all the drama you have been in!"
"Really? it's really an honour that Mr Samuel has watched my dramas." She had another question in mind. Didn't he say both of these girls were his girlfriends? Was that how things were done in America? She was curious but decided to hold it off for now.
"No, your acting skills are great. I have watched "Ballad of Seodong", "Pure in Heart", and "The King and I", but the one I love most is " Boys over flowers"!" Samuel listed some of her dramas.
Koo Hye-sun watched Samuel report the drama she had made; as an upcoming artist in the industry, she took pride in her works.
" I am sorry but Boys over flowers? I have never heard of that drama before." She noticed a discrepancy.
" Shit! I blabbered too much! The drama is set to release next year, right?" Samuel was stumped about how he should respond now.
