Chapter 1375 19.34 Second Red Star - Putting Humans in disadvantage.
An abrupt beam of energy shoots straight toward the hive from a cannon. This was clearly not something these humans planned to do, as the attack was unexpected. However, since this strike directly targeted the hive toward the main metropolis, its malice cannot be disregarded for some reason.
Cid Warlock and the other Zergs were astounded to see this. They intended to stop it, but even the hardest metal in the human star can be melted by this energy weapon. Its effectiveness against Zergs is from the fact that it was crafted using the corpses of deceased Zergs. In actuality, this was one of the human race's trump cards, but it was used in this instance before their schemes came to pass.
Cid Warlock halted his movements and said, "Oh! No! That's an energy cannon!
Marquess Conrad emerged and moved in front of the energy ray's route just as the female Zerg troops were ready to stop it with their bodies. He flicked his hand and a golden spear materialized. The spear threw over with such speed that the Marquess's strength was sufficient to cause it to flash like a streak of light.
The spear was sent into the energy ray with a few quick moves, and everyone saw it as the energy cannon and golden spear clashed. While everyone anticipated that the spear would melt from the collision, the scene revealed a different outcome. The energy cannon was split in two by the spear, which was shining gold. The spear did stop there, heading straight toward and striking the massive spaceship.
The golden spear went through a massive hole that had been created.
A chain of explosions happened in the area where the human fleets gathered. Everyone who had witnessed it was stunned by the scene, and what's more surprising is that the golden spear that was thrown had returned to the hands of Marquess Conrad.
Solan couldn't help but curse at such an event. "What just happened? A single spear! Just one spear was enough to destroy a large-sized spaceship!"
"Am I dreaming? Everything right now is a dream, right?" Kian mumbled in shock.
Lucas mumbled, "He was that powerful. Then does that mean all Male Zergs in the future will get strong like him?"
"If Teacher is this strong, how strong is the Zerg King as the most powerful male Zerg in the hive? Can I get that strong in the future?" Cid Warlock mumbled as he was almost caught by Silvana Warren in her pink mecha.
Marquess stood in front of the Hive Star, holding a golden spear that was taller than him. He stood straight like a rod and stared at vast stars with an expressionless face.
"A sneak attack? Unfortunately, it was useless."
This former war god could not have missed the new presences that had come after surveying the entire battlefield. He is reminded of the description of heretic zergs by the strong blood aroma that covers these distinct auras. He refused to allow even a dust particle to escape to the beehive behind him, keeping watch the entire time.
However, he quickly discovered the intentions of these cunning heretics when he witnessed them surreptitiously entering a few human spacecraft.
The Chief Warden thought these heretics only wanted to sabotage the human fleets, who would have thought they would initiate the attack and pretended that it was the humans who first attacked and added chaos in the area.
Marquess Conrad informed everyone about the heretics. "The Heretic Tribe had mixed within the crowd. Watch your backs! An attack had been initiated. All troops get ready to attack!"
He started gesturing for the female zerg soldiers behind him to start moving according to the formation. A large number of zergs in their full form had flown out from the hive
---
On the human side...
The three old marshals panicked at the scene of zergs coming in waves, giving them an overwhelming feeling of defeat.
"Command all soldiers to come out in their mecha. The spaceship had zergs in it. Abandon ship!" One of the marshals commented.
Among the three Marshals, one is wounded after being ambushed by a Heretic Zerg who sneaks into his ship. Most of his crew died to allow him to survive. He immediately agreed to ride on the mecha, as it was safer for everyone, especially for him. It can be said that those Zergs intentionally targeted the heads of those ships.
Adding to the fact that a quarter of the fleet exploded from the attack of that high-ranking Zerg, the danger of a Zerg pretending to be a human cannot be ignored.
The wounded Marshal said, "Abandon Ship! We don't have time to reenact witch-hunting in the fleet. There are definitely more zergs in the mix. If you want to survive, get in your own mecha!"
"But, Milord, what about our energy can--?"
SLAPPED!
This subordinate was cut off immediately and was even hit by his superior. These old men had gotten so used to abusing their power that they rarely even listened to the advice of the people around them.
"Stupid! Listen to the orders! You can stay on the ship to die on your own!" Another Marshal said. "In the first place, the energy cannon was useless against these bugs. Didn't you see how it was blocked effortlessly just now!?"
After seeing their comrade being hit and scolded, the rest of the soldiers held back the words in their mouths. Deep inside their hearts, they couldn't accept how unreasonable this command to 'abandon ship' was.
---
Marquess Conrad only commanded the soldiers to fly up, but he didn't gesture for them to attack. But this is enough to make humans feel pressured. Based on the numbers alone, the insect race is five times larger in population than the human race. Though half of it was lesser zergs who move only according to orders and don't think for themselves, numbers alone are able to engulf a fleet.
The old marshals momentarily panic as they notice the clouds, which resemble black and are composed of smaller zergs of different sizes. These elderly men were once excellent soldiers, but they lost the fortitude and spirit to take on so many adversaries after giving in to fame, power, and authority. They began to lose their cool and began issuing incorrect orders.
This was Marquess Conrad's original scheme to alert all the humans aboard the spacecraft. Most humans, including the three elderly marshals, emerged from their mecha as soon as he called the zerg soldiers from the hive, as was to be expected. They believe that it is safer to be inside their mecha than it is to be inside the spaceship. This would also make it easy for them to flee.
The drawback is that they could not use the energy cannons without the spaceship, which would endanger the bug race. As anticipated, the Marquess finally gave the smaller zergs an order when the majority of the mecha entered the room.
Marquess Conrad commanded, "Lesser Zergs, destroy all the spaceships!"
A black cloud made up of countless lesser zergs split into groups and used a pincer attack to make sure that none of the spaceships slipped through the gap. The Lesser Zergs strength came from their numbers. It didn't take long for those hundreds of spaceships to be surrounded by lesser zergs, and under their eyes, their space vehicle was ripped apart into pieces.
It was only at this moment that the humans understood the plan of that strong zerg, who was capable of blocking an energy cannon. It wasn't that the energy cannon was useless against the zergs. It can only be blocked by the high-ranking zerg leading these insects, but it must be effective against the other zergs.
That's why, after that one crazed attack from the cannon, the commander of these bugs targeted their spaceships.
Unfortunately, these inferior zergs are not only numerous, but they also have no fear of dying, despite the humans' best efforts to save the spaceship. No matter how dangerous, they would carry out a high-ranking Zerg's order. All those energy cannons were annihilated, and the major targets were the large ships.
Additionally impacted half of the small and mid-sized spacecraft were torn apart and lost in orbit.
Among the mid-sized spaceships, the Warren family's ship had luckily escaped from destruction, though they lost a few parts. It wasn't as bad as the ending of the ships owned by the marshals.
Gasp!
Barret Warren was stunned by what he had realized. He had never expected an insect race to possess such knowledge of tactics and war. Based on this alone, it can be said that the current commander on the other side is very skilled. The loss on the human side is quite heavy. Stay connected via empire
"The commander on the other side isn't only strong. He is an experienced war tactician. How is this possible? Zergs aren't supposed to possess this kind of intelligence, or we humans had a wronged perspective towards this insect race?"
Within the space battlefield, Marquess Conrad gestures a retreat command towards the Lesser Zergs after the large spaceships were scrapped under his initial command. With the destruction of those energy cannons, the death count on the side of the zergs was greatly lessened. This time, even Cid Warlock and his team retreated.
They were ordered to pull back their injured companions only within their means.
Most mecha didn't pursue the departing zergs except for the pink mecha controlled by Silvana Warren, who fearlessly chased after Cid Warlock.
Cid Warlock cursed, "Fuck! Stay away from me, you crazy bitch!"
{No. You're mine. You are mine!!} A flashing message appeared on the light screen before the pink mecha.
Solan commented on the scene, "Uwaa~ having that kind of stalker is truly tragic."
"The boss had always been unlucky with girls. Most women who liked him had problems in their heads," Kian said as he also watched such a funny scene.
Only Lucas jumped down and blocked the pink mecha, giving Cid Warlock a chance to retreat. Seeing the menacing spider zerg jumping around Silvana Warren, she felt enraged yet helpless.
{Get out of the way, you damn spider!}
This comment annoyed Lucas, who used his limbs to rip apart the pink mecha. He had just successfully torn the right arm when suddenly a few more uniformed mechas dragged away the pink mecha controlled by Silvana, taking her to safety.
The two sides had once again entered a stalemate and were once again separated by an invisible line.
"The Zergs and those they called Heretics are on the same side. You pretended to be on different factions when in reality you hail from the same group!"
"Nonsense! Those lunatics aren't from the same place as us. You were just careless and got dragged down by the heretics; why blame it on us? In reality, you are the ones who invaded first. Being targeted by them is because of your misfortune!"
The general made the observation that the people they labeled heretics and zergs were on the same side. The zergs from the hive shouted at their allegation, unable to take this insult. Suddenly, there was a scream and pandemonium among the Zergs. This time, it appears that some Heretic Zergs had mixed in with the Zerg's side, wreaking havoc on the insect race.
"Ah! Help me!"
"Ack! My arms!"
"There are Heretic Zergs hiding within the group! Be careful."
