Every time they attempted to scavenge any food, they had to cross the line of death.

A small contingent of elite humans went on surface hunting after entering into contracts with other elemental components. They stayed hidden in the forest of ice until they came across a lone polar bear. This small group is led by a middle-aged man with a powerful build and a scarred face. He is the Federation Star's recently born protagonist. Let us call him Leng Jun.

"Remember! We can only target a lone beast. Taking on a group will catch the attention of the King of this area," Leng Jun said.

The others gain attention while Leng Jun observes at a distance, waiting for an opportunity to instakill the polar bear. But just as he was about to make his move, everyone heard the howl of a wolf.

All the humans in the area looked over to the sources and saw a low-tier ice elemental wolf at the side of a huge stone that could overlook the area they were in.

Leng Jun cursed. "Fuck! It's a scout! Retreat! Run now!!"

The scout was suppressed by him using his elemental skill, stopping it from howling a second time. He gave the order to his teammates to flee. They disperse in all directions since doing so will increase their chances of surviving. He halted the scout and departed from the scene late.

Leng Jun was going to leave when he became aware of a massive shadow that was approaching from behind him. We recognized that this had to be the mutated polar bear they had been pursuing because of its enormous bear-like form.

He dodged and avoided the swinging fist of the enraged Polar Bear.
