Chapter 570: Silver Ring Venomous Snake
Chapter 570: Silver Ring Venomous Snake
After the crowd heard the faint roars of a group of Abyssal Demons behind them, they gnashed their teeth, ran quickly and ventured into a boundless forest decisively. Even a single Abyssal Demon was so terrifying. So, if they ran into a group of demons, wouldn’t it be worse?
Even the Sword God and Chief Elven Priestess that were God-Level Experts were fraught with worries, let alone the Sacred-Level and Domain-Level experts accompanying them. When they thought about the Abyssal Demon Barr’s terrifying giant sickle and flames, they were almost spooked out of their minds and ran quickly in fright because they were afraid that the group of demons would overtake them. The group led by the Sword God Gerald quickly withdrew from the battlefield!
The forest was filled with vines and its terrain wasn’t flat, which made walking on it quite strenuous. But this wasn’t the most terrifying aspect of it. The forest had a gravitational anomaly, and as they ventured further in it, their bodies turned heavier. It wasn’t just the warriors with Sacred-Level power that were exhausted, but it was also the same even for the beauty Sala that would shortly advance into the God-Level. The more they ran, the slower they became!
“Colke, Wait! Wait for me!” After a Golden Cloak Warrior with Sacred-Level power ran at a high-speed for four hours, he was exhausted, and he gasped for breath. This was why he wasn’t able to keep up with the team that advanced quickly.
“Boniface, walk, walk quicker. If you don’t want to die, then hurry up and follow us.” A warrior called Colke turned his head to urge his bro to keep up with them. He was quite nervous!
The Abyssal Demons’ power was too terrifying, and none knew the scope of their Divine Consciousness’ detection. If their trails were discovered by chance, then they would surely die. Colke was aware that Boniface was already exhausted, but Colke’s power was just at the Domain-Level early stage and he was so tired that he gasped for breath. This was why even though he wanted to pull Boniface, he didn’t have the power to do so.
“Brother Colke, I can’t do it. I can’t keep up with the group.” Boniface spoke before he sat on the ground and leaned against a giant tree as he gasped for breath. He had never cut a sorry figure since he advanced into the Sacred-Level, and he never expected that he would be one day be so tired that he couldn’t run.
This forest was too strange. It was filled with dense leaves that covered the sky and the sun. This was why the forest was gloomy, and even a Domain-Level expert could only see the scenery several tens of feet in front of him. In addition, the more they ventured in the forest, the heavier their bodies became as if they were carrying a giant boulder that was turning heavier as time passed. They had indescribable suffering, and the quicker they ran, the quicker they exhausted their physical power.
“Brother Boniface, persist. You must persist. Let’s walk, let’s walk quickly,” Colke said. He had grown up with Boniface, and when he discerned that Boniface was so tired that he couldn’t run, he was left without a choice, and he could only move back by several steps to drag his bro. Colke was so tired that he felt like he was dying, yet he still couldn’t just abandon Boniface and leave by himself.
Hiss!
When Colke moved back and extended his hand to pull up the exhausted Boniface, a surprising matter occurred.
A five-meter-long venomous snake with white and black stripes suddenly rushed out of the treetop, and it reached Boniface’s head instantly. It hissed, and it opened up its large mouth. Its mouth expanded greatly, and it instantly turned bigger than its body by a whole fold. The snake quickly bit Boniface’s head before anyone could respond, and as a miserable scream echoed out, it was about to swallow Boniface.
Its mouth was bigger than its body by a whole fold!
When Colke saw this terrifying sight, he was dumbfounded. He didn’t expect that such a terrifying venomous snake existed in the world.
“Ah! Save me, save me.” Boniface struggled intensely to no avail. He was exhausted and wasn’t a match for the snake. A large part of his body was quickly swallowed into the snake’s throat, and just his swaying legs were left outside. But, his miserable screams still echoed out from the snake’s belly.
“Silver Ring Venomous Snake? Darn it, why such a big one existed.” When the Sword God Gerald turned his head around and sighted upon this terrifying sight, he was both startled and angered. As a swooshing sound echoed out, he pulled out his sword and rushed over like a gust of wind.
Swoosh!
The sharp Sword Energy quickly alerted the Silver Ring Venomous Snake, but it was a pity that the Sword God’s was quite swift, and he thrust his sharp sword into the snake’s belly before it could retreat and he chopped it in half.
The Sword God was quite swift, but it was a pity that he was late by a tad!
Everything above Boniface’s shoulders was melted. His nose, mouth, ears, and other sense organs were already so distorted that they couldn’t be recognized, and even his skull was revealed. He died on the spot, but his four limbs were still twitching. Even the Chief Elven Priestess’s Life Radiance Divine Spell couldn’t save him, let alone an ordinary Regeneration Spell.
The flesh was instantly melted! It was really unimaginable how terrifying was the corrosion power of the Silver Ring Venomous Snake’s gastric acid.
Danger lurked everywhere!
When the crowd witnessed this sight, their hair stood on end, and Yang Ling finally witnessed the Graveyard of Gods and Devils’ terror. Even a single venomous snake could instantly kill a Sacred-Level expert, and it was unknown what monsters or danger they would run across if they continued walking further.
The eerie forest that had a gravitational anomaly was like a great python that opened its big mouth coldly toward the crowd!
What should be done?
None knew which monster they would run into if they continued venturing further. But, if they drew back, they might run again by mistake into a group of Abyssal Demons. What should be done?
The crowd looked at each other. They all didn’t know what should be done!
“Yang Ling, there is a small lake ahead of us. Why don’t we first set up a camp there and recuperate for several days? What do you think about this?” When the Sword God Gerald discovered a small lake ahead with his powerful Divine Consciousness, he exchanged a glance with the Chief Elven Priestess before he opened his mouth to ask for Yang Ling’s opinion.
They had managed to win the battle against the Abyssal Demon Barr by a fluke and had paid a grave price for it. The Nine-Headed Python King Hydra had a foot in the grave, while the Sword God and Chief Elven Priestess were heavily injured. Out of the four great God-Level Experts, everyone other than Yang Ling sustained great damage, and they might run into danger if they ventured further or drew back. This was why it would be better to look for a place where they could set up a camp and recuperate!
“Fine, let’s go.” Yang Ling approved of the Sword God’s suggestion, and he led the Corpse Wizard King, Dark Dragon King, and others toward the small lake. The more he ventured into the forest’s depths, the more he felt that something about it was amiss, and he had a bad feeling about this. It would be stupid to intrude into the forest’s depths without having an understanding of its situation.
If one ran across a forest, he shouldn’t enter it!
When Yang Ling set foot on the Graveyard of Gods and Devils, he felt like something was summoning him, but he still felt like an extinguishable haze engulfed him. After he witnessed the death of the Golden Cloak Warrior’s Boniface, he became more prudent. Now, it was too late for retreat, and this was why they could only set up a camp here.
“Yang Ling, dangers lurked everywhere in the Graveyard of Gods and Devils. So, you should be careful.” After the Chief Elven Priestess took several breaths, she rushed toward Yang Ling quickly and instructed him in a low voice. She was deeply worried!
The Chief Elven Priestess and the Sword God were heavily injured, and they wouldn’t manage to recover quickly even though they had the Life Spring’s water. This was why the team’s safety depended upon Yang Ling, and if the God-Level expert Yang Ling suffered another mishap, then none would manage to survive half a year here, and they wouldn’t be able to go back to Tailun Continent again.
“That is right. Dangers lurked everywhere. This forest is too weird, and its gravitational field is stronger than outside by several folds. I wonder what happened?” Yang Ling furrowed his brows. The gravitational anomaly let him suspect that they entered by mistake a strange Ancient Magical Formation Spell.
The Sword God Gerald instructed his clansmen to bury the Golden Cloak Warrior Boniface before he rushed quickly toward Yang Ling’s group. “The Graveyard of Gods and Devils’ gravity field is quite chaotic. In some places, people may start floating at any moment, and at others, the gravity will be so strong that it will be difficult to move by several steps. But, what is truly terrifying is the various kinds of demons wandering in the Graveyard of Gods and Devils, as well as the powerful Magical Beasts and Undead Beings. So, you should be careful!”
Various kinds of demons? Could it be that the Graveyard of Gods and Devils didn’t have just the Abyssal Demon Species?
Yang Ling got a headache. The Abyssal Demons were already too thorny. So, if there was a large number of other demons with great power, wouldn’t the situation be worse?
“A long time ago, I read an ancient book, and it’s stated on it that the Graveyard of Gods and Devils doesn’t just have demons, Magical Beast and Undead Beings. There are still many hidden practitioners. I wonder whether it’s true?” The Corpse Wizard King looked in confusion at the Sword God.
The Graveyard of Gods and Devils was a mysterious region to people in all Planes, and even the Death Plane wasn’t an exception. In the past, the Corpse Wizard King led a great army of undead to conquer a Dark Knight’s castle, and he found there many ancient books. They included a certain ancient book that talked about the mysterious Graveyard of Gods and Devils. But it was a pity that it had just brief info about it.
“The Graveyard of Gods and Devils is quite complex, and it’s more complex than we imagine.” The Chief Elven Priestess looked at the boundless forest and shook her head. She said, “It’s rumored that the Graveyard of Gods and Devils doesn’t just have powerful demons, but it also has many hidden practitioners with terrifying power and even Wanderers from various Planes.”
Even though the Chief Elven Priestess had visited the Graveyard of Gods and Devils many times, she still didn’t have a concrete understanding of the Graveyard of Gods and Devils’ situation and she just had a rough idea about it thanks to some ancient books. In the whole Tailun Continent, it was probably just Raymond that knew well this land’s situation.
“Something is amiss. If the Graveyard of Gods and Devils is so complex and has many demons, as well as hidden practitioners, then all Godheads and Divine Weapons should have been already plundered by them, and it won’t be up to us to get them, isn’t it?” Yang Ling was quite confused and he got more puzzled about the Graveyard of Gods and Devils’ situation.
Even the Abyssal Demon Barr coveted Godheads, and this demonstrated that Godheads were too useful to demons. If the Graveyard of Gods and Devils was filled everywhere with terrifying demons, then they should have already searched the whole Graveyard of Gods and Devils in past years. Even if Godheads were too numerous, they still would have been plundered completely, and it wouldn’t be up to their group to get them, would it?
