Chapter 204: The Knight Appears
Chapter 204: The Knight Appears
Jeffrey believed that their chances were much greater because of the ten more Blessed they now had to try to deal with those twenty "goblins", but this time there was something different.
As soon as the imps were summoned, the humans looked at them and saw no difference between them. In their view, all of the imps were practically the same; not even the three most powerful imps that Jeffrey had talked about stood out among the rest.
But as soon as the two sides faced off, one of the imps immediately stood out.
One of the security guards had purposely made an opening where one of the "red goblins" would attack without causing much damage, but with that he would expose himself to the security guard to attack his head directly and end his life soon after.
This was common in a large-scale battle. Letting yourself be hit in a non-fatal location to decrease enemy numbers quickly was completely acceptable.
But something that the security guard could not have imagined happened. As soon as the goblin's claws were about to hit his leg, for a single second that goblin's claws ignited and when they came into contact with his leg, a huge pain hit the man.
Instead of just feeling his leg being cut and the flames burning, it was a completely different pain. He was feeling his whole body burning, as if even his mind was being burned.
Without control of his own body, just acting on instinct, the man gave a cry that sent shivers down the spines of the other security guards who were with him.
"AAAAARRRRRRRRRRHGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHH!!!!!"
At that moment, Jeffrey, who was in the car, swallowed again. He finally realized that there was something different that he had not taken into account. In the previous battle, the three special goblins only started using their skills at the end of the battle, but this time it was different. Apparently they were using their abilities from the beginning.
But this was not a time to be discouraged. He still trusted that with ten more Blessed they would be able to deal with these goblins.
Opening the car window a little, Jeffrey cried out an idea he had to deal with these troubled goblins.
Contrary to what the security guards did the previous time, which he clearly saw failing, this time he decided to order them to do something different.
"Kill that goblin, the one that attacked that man's leg! You have to kill him! He's-" But before Jeffrey could complete the sentence, he saw a bright light coming towards him, which made him roll up the window of the car before the light hit the spot.
He was lucky that he just opened a little crack to scream so he had time to close the window, ut as soon as the light hit the glass, he realized how fucked he was.
What hit the window was a fireball, which Jeffrey supposed came from the unicorn who was staring at him again. But even though the car was armored against fire, as soon as the fireball touched the window, he felt the temperature of that place rising until the glass warped a little because it had started to melt.
Wondering what would have happened to him if that fireball had hit him, Jeffrey again swallowed.
But the message he had to pass was already delivered. When the security guards heard their boss's order, they didn't think twice and turned to look at the goblin who had attacked their companion.
However, there was a problem: What they were looking for was a goblin with claws on fire, but the goblin just set his own claws on fire for a second before making it go back to normal. When they looked at where he was, they already saw three goblins of almost identical appearance looking at them aggressively as they ran towards the nearest blessed one.
Thus chaos reigned in that formation that had been very well organized before. Because they were looking for the goblin that had claws that were on fire, little by little they were being separated and the number of survivors had fallen.
Jeffrey was looking at it helplessly. The window had been deformed. No matter how hard he tried to open it, the glass was no longer going down.
He even thought about opening the car's sunroof or any of the other windows to shout and point out which of the goblins was the one they had to kill, but when he looked at the unicorn and realized that he was being stared at until now, Jeffrey gave up on that idea and just hoped that these idiots could kill these goblins.
This battle was more strategic than before. As much as the goblins still didn't worry about dying, this time they were even working as a team. That goblin who previously just healed, was now healing his teammates too, allowing the other goblins to last longer in battle.
But because of the Blessings that the humans had, they were managing to control the battle very well, and because of the Blessed Rank D, despite the three goblins with powers, the humans were still winning the battle.
Jeffrey's fear was that the unicorn would join the battle, but seeing that the unicorn was just standing there watching his goblins die, he once again became a little more carefree. Although in his view this unicorn seemed very intelligent, despite this it acted in very stupid ways sometimes, giving Jeffrey several opportunities to get backup. That worried Jeffrey. If the unicorn was calm, it was because maybe he was still confident about something.
Fortunately for the human group they finally managed to kill all the goblins while still having three blessed Rank D alive. All the other Blessed Rank E had died in the battle, and even some Rank D also died, but not that they cared about it. After such a bloody battle, their only goal was to survive, not even to protect Jeffrey remained a concern for them.
"Yes! Finally! I hope these idiots manage to kill this unicorn!" Jeffrey said to himself excitedly inside the car.
The three men had tired expressions on their faces. They knew that if fighting the unicorn's minions had already been so problematic, fighting the unicorn itself could be even more problematic.
But as they were Blessed of Rank D, even though they had never gone to the Fortress where this unicorn was a Boss. They knew that there were patterns for some bosses, and for this unicorn to have used his skill so many times, maybe they had a chance to kill this monster and survive.
Unfortunately for them, the light of hope that illuminated the path they had in mind never existed.
Noah at that moment told the unicorn through the mental link that he should stop flaring up the flames of his mane, and visibly the brightness of the unicorn's mane decreased for the humans.
Initially they believed that it meant that the unicorn was weaker, maybe he didn't even have the strength to keep the fire burning in his mane, but in the next moment, their hope turned into another feeling.
Jeffrey, who believed he was about to survive and kill a powerful monster that some of his rivals had spent a large sum to hire to end him, was now completely desperate.
On top of the unicorn something started to shine, but this time it was not a red pentagram.
With a burst of fire, the humans could finally see that on the unicorn's back was a knight.
Like the unicorn, that knight was apparently made of fire. Between the cracks in his armor, the flames leaked and gave an impression of power and majesty as if a noble knight was under that armor, a nobleman who was cremated with his mount but who instead of dying, took control of the flames and became a death knight.

Both Jeffrey and the Blessed Rank D at that point had given up on everything. Fighting those little goblins was already extremely laborious, but they had managed to deal with it. They believed that now they would just have to deal with a weakened Boss and that maybe they even had a chance.
But suddenly, against everything they had imagined, the real Boss had not even shown up - a knight who had not even drawn his sword, a knight who was in front of their eyes all the time, but still, hidden from them for the same amount of time.
This knight apparently could kill them at any time, but he was playing with their lives as if they were just pieces on a chess board.
Jeffrey had already lost count of how many times he had feared death that night, but this time he finally felt like he had never been this close.
