Chapter 205 Wasteland Field
There wasn't anything special in sight for Lei Zhen to see when he set foot in the wasteland field.
Other than the sand that he could see in the surroundings, there were only some other cactus-looking plants.
"All my excitement just died right here and then." Lei Zhen twitched his mouth and said.
He couldn't even spot a single monster nearby and when he opened his map to check for any red dots nearby, it was crystal clear.
Not a single monster was around the perimeter and he began to wonder if the monsters didn't even bother to wander around here.
"Candice, can you ask the wind if some monsters are hiding underneath us?" Lei Zhen turned to her and asked.
Just maybe the monsters were shy and hiding underneath the sand to avoid being seen. And it just so happened, the map function of Magnolia cannot detect those hiding.
Unfortunately for him though, Candice shook her head in response.
"There is no sign of life in the 40 kilometers around us. Maybe we came a bit too early since it's still morning?" She said cheerfully, seemingly trying to cheer Lei Zhen up.
"What nonsense are you talking about?" Lei Zhen used his fingers and flicked her forehead.
"Since there are no monsters, then the path is easier for us. I might crave some excitement, but I'm not the type to seek troubles actively." He added.
Candice could only rub her forehead silently as she nodded her head.
Sometime later, Lei Zhen and Candice began following the path instructed by the wind.
Despite the wasteland field, the environment itself wasn't as bad as Lei Zhen had imagined.
The weather was mild and wasn't hot at all. The sand itself was soft enough yet durable for them to step foot in it.
"I guessed we are still in the outer region of the wasteland since it's quite peaceful and not much activity." Lei Zhen commented.
The inner region was where all the actions were and where the players went hunting for monsters.
Though Lei Zhen would occasionally come across some other players nearby, except none of them didn't bother introducing themselves.
Time slowly passed by, and Candice finally announced that they had arrived at the location.
"Umm, are you sure we're there already?" Lei Zhen questioned in a confused tone. They were standing in the middle of nowhere and surrounding them were still the normal sand and cactus plants.
"Un, it can't be wrong. There should be some sort of hidden entrance here." Candice said resolutely.
She was confident in her ability and wholeheartedly believed the intel of the wind. The wind would never lie to her and had never failed her in the past either.
Seeing her confident expression, Lei Zhen nodded his head and proceeded to glance around the surroundings.
With the naked eye, he was still unable to look for any clues of some sort.
'I guessed it's time to activate Omnivision again.' Lei Zhen sighed inwardly. If it wasn't necessary, he really didn't wish to use this function since it took quite a toll on his mentality and physical body.
Only those who had truly experienced what was going on when Omnivision was activated would they know his true pain.
His vision soon changed into one that senses mana flow band, and sure enough, there was some suspicious activity in one area.
"I never met Smither Gary before, but if he could construct such a secretive base, then his skills were definitely not to be messed with." Lei Zhen commented.
The area they are in was extremely remote, and without Candice's guidance, then they would have never arrived here. To top it off, without the usage of Omnivision, nobody could detect Smither Gary was hiding there.
Lei Zhen extended his hand out, touching one of the mana flow bands and injecting his mana into it.
On the surface though, Lei Zhen seemed to be grabbing onto empty air as Candice held a dazed expression.
After injecting his mana at the specific mana flow band, the sand beneath them trembled slightly. Soon, a staircase leading to the bottom was revealed to the surface.
And seeing that, Lei Zhen couldn't help but compare this to the one in his room.
'Damn, I need to copy Smither Gary's mechanical build as an upgrade.' Lei Zhen thought to himself, feeling that his secret entrance was inferior to the one that Smither Gary had built.
Turning off the Omnivision, Lei Zhen stumbled for a few seconds again to try to get used to the change.
"Alright, let's head in." He then said after regaining his composure.
By the time the two of them walked down the staircase, the entrance was subtly hidden once again on the surface, almost as if there was nothing here in the first place.
As they walked further down, lamp oils by the side of the wall were lit up, illuminating the narrow passage.
And as they got closer to the base floor, clanking and banging sounds could be heard from afar.
If one had a great hearing ability, then one could discern the sounds of someone hammering at a steel object. Given that the target they are looking for is a blacksmith, such sounds shouldn't be a surprise for them.
"Should we introduce ourselves now, Master?" Candice asked the moment they reached the base level and saw a bright room on the near left side.
Lei Zhen pondered for a moment before shaking his head.
"Smither Gary seemed to be concentrating on his smithing, so it would be rude if we suddenly announce our arrival." He calmly said.
pαndα,noνɐ1,сoМ A blacksmith always treasured their work and hated it when someone else disrupted their work that was in progress.
After all, it would ruin the momentum and rhythm that they were trying to hammer the object they were trying to create.
"I'm sure our presence had long been detected by Smither Gary either way, so we will wait here patiently until Smither Gary allows us to enter." Lei Zhen then said, sitting down near the wall.
