MMORPG: Crowd Control

Chapter 212 Carried

Lei Zhen was beyond exhilarated when he saw his level rise rapidly, almost as if he was being spoon-fed of the experience points that have always avoided him.

'Is Candice my lucky charm?' Lei Zhen wondered silently.

Ever since she had appeared in his life, everything had changed for the better whether it was in terms of adventure or interaction with others.

Smither Gary agreed to his request mainly because of Candice's interference and her species as a high elf.

And now, these Scorpades which would be a pain for him to kill were actually slain easily by her powerful magic spells.

"Master, are we going to hunt for more?" Candice retracted her magic and asked excitedly.

The scenes of the Scorpades being melted in front of her did not affect her in the slightest. In fact, she was even more excited to look for more Scorpade to hunt.

"I doubt you even need my assistance to slay these Scorpades…" Lei Zhen said awkwardly.

"That's not true, Master. Without your skills in disabling the movement of the Scorpades, I wouldn't be able to target them accurately."

"Is that so?"

"Of course, Master's skills are top-notch and most people would find it difficult to even break through your snaring skills. Take Peter Heisen for example. He was a powerful berserker, but under your skills, he couldn't even produce a tenth of his actual power." Candice explained enthusiastically, almost as if she was afraid Lei Zhen would continue to undermine his ability.

"Okay, I get it. You don't have to praise me that much." Lei Zhen raised his hand to stop her from continuing.

He was afraid that they would be here all day long if he allowed Candice to continue rambling on.

Although her rambling was meant for goodwill, he didn't need to hear much as long as he knew it was genuine from her. That was enough and any more words are unnecessary.

"I'm glad you understand it now, Master." Candice flashed a bright smile.

"Shall we look for more Scorpades and other monsters in the region to hunt?" She then asked.

Lei Zhen nodded his head.

"Of course, it'll be bad if we don't continue searching for more monsters to hunt."

And with that said, Lei Zhen and Candice proceeded to spend the next few hours, cooperating and slaying numerous monsters.

ραпdα nᴏνa| сom Though it was mainly Candice carrying Lei Zhen considering that most of the monster's slain was dealt with by her with little to zero effort.

At the same time, Lei Zhen's level was gradually increasing, though it wasn't as fast as previously.

It was understandable that his level might not increase as fast as before because of the number of experience points needed to advance to the next level.

"Phew, how long have we been hunting for?" Candice wiped off the sweat on her forehead and asked excitedly.

"About two hours or so." Lei Zhen calmly responded. He might not have shown his excitement, but during this time, he was actually having fun.

Their cooperation was gradually becoming better and better. In addition to that, they were enjoying their time without having the fear of dying.

The reason for that was that Lei Zhen had enquired about it with Tang Qiaolian and apparently his mindset of NPC's death being permanent was unnecessary.

Apparently, if the NPC died and they are under you, there was an option to resurrect them with gold coins. Of course, the cost would vary depending on the NPC level and power.

Nevertheless, Lei Zhen did not wish to have to implore such a function because he would ensure Candice's safety as the top priority.

Just when Lei Zhen was in deep thought, a sudden movement from afar caught his notice.

'Hmm, no red dots but gray instead huh.' Lei Zhen checked the map and realized the movements were from players.

Neutral players are highlighted gray whereas allies or teammates would be highlighted green. Thus, Lei Zhen echoed for Candice to come closer to him as he waited for the group of players.

Sometime later, they were confronted by them and it was a group of five people. Two women and three men, all wearing some decent types of equipment on their bodies.

Lei Zhen had his mask on and asked, "What's the matter?"

"Sorry for the intrusion, but we noticed that the two of you were killing the monsters in this region rapidly. Hence, we wanted to ask if you are interested in completing a dungeon with us?" One of the women in their group stepped forward and asked.

They thought that having a woman talk first would minimize their suspicions, but Lei Zhen was not the type to casually party up with randoms.

Even back when he first started, he had not joined any team or party with players and only chose to associate with NPCs.

That was because players are an unpredictable bunch and he would never know if they were actually hiding a dagger behind their backs.

"Sorry, but we do not wish to go to any dungeons." Lei Zhen refused them politely and was ready to leave.

Meanwhile, before the woman could persuade him further, the men behind her back suddenly sneered coldly at Lei Zhen.

"Heh, look at him acting arrogant despite his shitty gears."

"I know, right. His equipment is crap and it was only because of the woman by his side that he didn't get poisoned to death by the Scorpade."

"Does this man truly think we were trying to party up with him?"

Hearing their sneering tone, Lei Zhen raised an eyebrow in confusion.

He turned toward them and asked sincerely, "Is that supposed to be a taunt? Because if it is, then you'll need to work on your taunting skills. It's quite terrible in my honest opinion."

They were the ones that approached them unannounced and now they dared to trash talk after he rejected him?

Lei Zhen would be a saint if he didn't say anything back to these disrespectful people. 'No matter the era, why do some people have zero brain cells or intelligence in them?'
