Pause System: Harem In The Apocalypse

161 Chapter 160

Inside of the airship, the Kessho were gathered.

The ones gathered had crystal-red eyes, and came in all sorts of figures. Some obnoxiously large, others shredded and others with small yet threatening.

They all kneeled down in front of a single Kessho

A man who appeared to be in his early twenties at most..

Crystal-white hair with deep black eyes with white crystals pulsating on the inside. His left brow was white and his right brow was black.

The clothes he wore matched the colour if his hair and eyes, being a simple mixture of black and white.

He had but a single sword on his waist which emitted a gentle aura, alongside his still expression. His character displayed no emotion.

"Leader... The reinforcements of the enemy which arrived are putting up a good fight on the fleets. We've also received news of some of them managing to infiltrate the ship."

"We await your command." They all repeated simultaneously after.

The

"And there's one more thing he instructed all of us to tell you once you returned. I'm not sure if the others have told you yet but..."

The kessho leader took a step forward and a small shockwave burst out throughout the room.

He placed his hand on the hilt on his waist, before looking up at the airships ceiling.

He took in a deep breath and calmly let it out. "There isn't much to say... You captains, all of you... Kill them all." He replied, calmly.

"At once!" They replied simultaneously with their heads bowed down.

"And there's one more thing he instructed all of us to tell you once you returned. I'm not sure if the others have told you yet but..."

The corps member grabbed onto a spare communication device inside of his pockets before handing it over to Gray.

"You are the new commander of the demon opposition corps.".

"...Huh?" Ria and Gray concurrently replied as they glanced at each other.

The corps member got on his knees.

"We've lost our leaders... He said you're the only one who would be able to save us... Not just us but our families..." He continued, tears flowing down his eyes.

"You won't have to do anything you don't want to.... Just give the corps orders for us to carry out and help with managing the remaining bases. You'll be the new leader..." Said the other.

Gray's eyes narrowed slightly, he understood why they would want him to be the one in command. He'd feel responsible and forced to protect them in a way.

But surely there were other ways of going about It and other people they could rely on.

He placed his hand beneath his chin for a while and thought about what to do.

He turned to his sister and she wasn't sure either.

Whatever he'd choose, she'd be all in.

[This is an announcement to all squads engaged in battle, we've successfully finished transporting the people onto the new base.]

[If you are injured, head back to the new base, You have all been given it's location.]

[Avoid being followed, and stay safe, soldiers.]

The messages played through the device.

"Alright, I, Gray Caliber, will take command." Said Gray as he grabbed the communication device.

Upon hearing both the message and Gray's decision, the eyes of the members ahead of Gray lit up in happiness.

Although there were many cons, there'd also be many benefits. Gray had no plans on operating everything like the president and executive did however.

"Don't expect me to be like your old president and executive. I'll be running things the way I want. Of course, as long as you're under my command, I'll keep you all safe."

Gray raised the communication device. It was a High-frequency and land mobile radio tactical communications device, often used in the military.

The military had merged with the opposition corps when the president and executive got together, so it was obvious they'd the same equipment.

"Got it?!" Gray asked in a strong tone.

The corps members which had been looking up to him, slowly stood up before saluting.

"Yes sir!" They replied.

This marked the day where Gray became the new commander of The Fallen Angel Opposition Corps.

[Achievement: The Continent's Last Call.]

[Achievement: Head Commander Of The Fallen Angel Opposition Corps.]

[You can now command the last remaining and functioning organisation of the humans in North America.]

[You have gained + 2 Stat points.]

The notifications rang inside of Gray's head, a tab opened in front of him. He grinned upon seeing it.

"Then for my first command... I command you all to listen and do as this girl instructs." Said Gray as he pointed at Ria.

"...Huh?" Ria repeated with her head tilted to the sides.

The corps members were equally confused.

"I'm going to be busy fighting in the front lines, I'm not going to be able to manage everything. You'll go with them to the base and keep me updated on things." Said Gray.

"Eh...? But brother I..."

"With them under our command, and Ruby's help, we'll be at an advantage. Ria, you're the only one I can trust to take on this role."

Gray's words 'You're the only one I can trust.' echoed in the back of her head for a moment.

She quickly shook her head and clapped her hands on her cheeks, forcing them to swell up before looking at Gray with a determined look.

"Alright... I'll do it." She responded.

The corps members were speechless.

"She'll be under temporary control, that won't be a problem, right?" Gray asked as he glanced at them.

They had seen what she could do and knew she was the real deal, not to mention she was his sister.

"Not a problem, we are under your command... Ria." Said the corps members as they saluted to her.

Ria was not used to receiving this treatment, especially since she had been working under them a while ago.

But it was precisely for that reason that Gray had picked her, he knew his sister had seen things from not only the perspective of someone who had been in one of their bases but also lived and worked there.

He didn't just pick her for no reason, he believed that she'd be able to surprise them not only him but everyone.
