Pregnant After Healing the Alpha

Chapter 66 - 61: Zhan Qipei's Furious Outburst for Qiao Jing

Chapter 66: Chapter 61: Zhan Qipei’s Furious Outburst for Qiao Jing

Who is it?!

Xue Huiyao and Mother Xue almost simultaneously turned toward the door, and two seconds later, they saw Zhan Qipei appear in their line of sight, walking with a disregard for all relatives, as if a storm was about to break.

Upon seeing that it was Zhan Qipei, the mother and son stood up as if by prior agreement.

“President Zhan, you… why have you come?” Xue Huiyao stammered as soon as he spoke.

A pair of cold, clear eyes revealed an endless chill in Zhan Qipei.

“You almost caused the accidental death of my newlywed wife. Tell me, why shouldn’t I come?”

These words frightened the mother and son duo to the bottom of their hearts, making them feel a sudden “clunk”.

After a two-second pause, Xue Huiyao approached Zhan Qipei and, with a smile, said, “President Zhan, you’ve got the wrong person, it wasn’t me.”

“Oh, it wasn’t you who threw the mineral water bottle?” Zhan Qipei asked, narrowing his eyes as he looked at Xue Huiyao.

“It really wasn’t me; I didn’t throw a mineral water bottle!”

“Then what did you throw?”

“What I threw was—” At this point, Xue Huiyao’s voice stopped abruptly as his eyes widened.

“What is it?” Zhan Qipei’s unfathomable eyes grew even more dangerous.

Xue Huiyao staggered back several steps in fright, “I, I…”

He took a long time to say “I”, but he couldn’t utter a complete sentence.

Zhan Qipei looked coldly at Xue Huiyao and Mother Xue, “Xue Family, very good. Even daring to touch my Zhan Family’s people. Starting today, my Zhan Family will cut off all business dealings with you.”

The mother and son of the Xue Family were terrified by these words.

When Father Xue heard the news, he immediately dropped what he was doing and rushed home. Just as he reached the doorstep, he suddenly heard this statement.

“President Zhan, let’s talk this over. I’ll have my son apologize to your wife. He’ll kowtow, admit his wrong, and accept punishment.”

Father Xue’s words made Xue Huiyao unhappy.

“Dad! Are you really my father? How could you make me apologize to a lowly country woman, even kowtow and kneel? I won’t go!”

An icy aura suddenly rose from Zhan Qipei’s feet, his expression turning colder and harder than before, his gaze towards Xue Huiyao as if looking at a dead man.

“Tang Yan.”

“Present, boss.” Tang Yan stepped forward.

Zhan Qipei slowly raised his hand and pointed at Xue Huiyao, “Send him to prison, charge him with attempted murder.”

“What?!” Xue Huiyao looked at Zhan Qipei in horror, “I didn’t kill anyone. I didn’t. What right do you have to send me to prison?”

Zhan Qipei glanced at Tang Yan, who understood and opened the laptop he was carrying. The video playing on the laptop was a recording of Xue Huiyao picking up a stone and smashing Qiao Jing’s car in a series of actions.

“On the basis of this, you’re enough to be charged with attempted murder,” Zhan Qipei said coldly.

Xue Huiyao, terrified, fell onto his backside on the ground, legs trembling. After a two-second pause, he turned to look at Father Xue and Mother Xue, “Dad, Mom, save me! I don’t want to go to prison; I don’t want to be locked up!”

Mother Xue’s eyes reddened with urgency as she pleaded with Zhan Qipei, “President Zhan, my son is still young, he doesn’t understand, please give him another chance!”

“He’s young? He’s already 27 today, while Qiao Jing is only 23. Give him another chance? If Qiao Jing hadn’t been lucky yesterday, who would have given her a chance?”

When Zhan Qipei thought back to the frightening scene last night, he couldn’t help but shudder with fear.

Never had the word ‘fear’ appeared in his dictionary, not even a month ago when he was chased by a hitman with no way out. Yet, he had never been afraid.

But last night, for the first time in his life, he experienced it.

The feeling of panic and fright as though the sky was falling terrified him even in retrospect.

He had thought that his bond with Qiao Jing might just be due to the time they had spent together, which had created a connection stronger than friendship.

Exactly what kind of bond it was he couldn’t clearly say himself, perhaps with enough time, he would understand.

Although Father Xue was frustrated with his son Xue Huiyao for failing to meet expectations, as a father, he couldn’t just watch his own son get thrown into jail.

“President Zhan, our Xue family is willing to pay as compensation, just name your price?”

Hearing this, Tang Yan shook his head; there was originally no turnaround in this situation, and now they were simply digging their own grave.

As Tang Yan was thinking this, Zhan Qipei watched Father Xue with a cold voice, words chilling, “Fine, name a price, I want to acquire your Xue family.”

Shock!!!

The three members of the Xue family were internally stunned beyond belief, their eyes wide and mouths agape, not daring to believe what they were hearing.

After a long while, Father Xue was the first to recover.

“President… President Zhan, this… this joke is not funny at all.”

“Joke? I never joke,” Zhan Qipei said with eyes narrowed and face stern, showing no trace of jest.

“Not joking?” Zhan Qipei turned to Tang Yan, “Give you three days, I want the Xue family bankrupt!”

“Yes!”

Father Xue was petrified, collapsing onto the floor just like Xue Huiyao.

Mother Xue stood rooted to the spot, her face pale, muttering non-stop, “It’s over, it’s all over…”

Qiao Jing had a very comfortable sleep; when she woke up, it was already dark outside.

Dinner hadn’t arrived yet, and feeling bored, Qiao Jing started browsing on her cellphone.

“Hmm? Zhan Corporation officially announces the formal acquisition of Xue family enterprise? And at a bargain price?”

All she did was sleep, and such a huge event had taken place.

The Xue family was considered an elite, affluent household in the capital, with stable stocks and decent growth—how had they suddenly been acquired by Zhan Corporation?

As Qiao Jing was pondering this, dinner arrived.

“Miss Qiao, this is the nutritional meal your husband specially ordered for you from Baixiang Restaurant,” said the nurse, pushing in the cart.

Her husband?

Qiao Jing frowned slightly. Although in name Zhan Qipei was indeed her husband, hearing others address him as such felt somewhat awkward to her.

Suddenly! An unfriendly shout came from the doorway.

“Qiao Jing! It’s indeed you!”

Qiao Jing turned her head to look and, upon seeing it was Qiao Licheng and his mother and son, her brow furrowed, annoyance creeping in.

Qiao Licheng, storming in his leather shoes and fuming with rage, came to the bedside, glanced at the dishes on the table, and his anger soared instantly.

“Eat, eat, eat! All you know is eating! Your grandmother has been sickened with anger because of you, and you still have the appetite to eat!”

Jhiang Cuifeng was indeed sick because of Qiao Jing, and quite coincidentally was hospitalized in this very hospital, or else Qiao Licheng would not have found out about Qiao Jing’s hospitalization.

The reason Jhiang Cuifeng fell ill was that she was constantly worried about Qiao Jing squandering her money, concerned that by the time they tried to get the money back from Qiao Jing, there wouldn’t be much left.

Every time this crossed her mind, Jhiang Cuifeng felt a heartache as if Qiao Jing wasn’t just spending her money, but eating her flesh and draining her blood.

And so, sunken into depression, she became ill and was hospitalized.

“She’s sick, what does that have to do with me?” Qiao Jing picked up the disinfected chopsticks to serve herself some food.

Qiao Licheng, losing his temper, swept his hand across, knocking all the dishes on the table to the floor.
