Primordial Expanse: I have the Strongest Talent!

Chapter 383: Soft landing

Alex led Mira along the wall, staying close to its towering edge.

Mira, still curious, kept her focus on the trail ahead, more perplexed by what Alex had in store for her than anything else.

But her mind was also drawing her elsewhere.

If anyone were to observe them right now, she wouldn't know how to hide her face in shame…

A young girl being led by an equally young, but very naked male, down a secluded path…

It would create some very interesting scenarios in even the most innocent of minds…

But all she could do was hope that nobody was bored enough to check the area of the wall they were walking along.

Alex had this look of mischief in his eye, and while she usually enjoyed his schemes, this one was dragging on for a bit too long for her liking.

Then, without warning, Alex stopped.

A small, satisfied smile spread across his face.

"Watch this." he said, without turning back to look at Mira.

Mira raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms as she observed Alex.

"What exactly am I supposed to be watching?"

Instead of answering, Alex closed his eyes.

Mira's face shifted in an instant, but not out of realisation or anything spectacular like that, but out of confusion.

As someone well versed in the spatial element, even more so than Alex, Mira knew exactly what he was up to the instant she felt the energy start to build up around them.

But this time, she was puzzled.

His eyes were closed, and trying to teleport right now seemed foolish.

Still, Alex's confidence remained sky high, so Mira chose to continue standing back and watching.

She could feel the familiar pull of space bending around them, but even then, she still wasn't familiar with what Alex's endgame was.

Before she could question him - or herself - any further, Alex disappeared.

Which was very much to Mira's surprise.

Although her talent was entirely focused on the Void dimension, it still allowed Mira to have the ability to teleport, and if she remembered correctly she could only do so while looking directly at where she wanted to end up.

Yet, Alex had clearly just teleported somewhere with his eyes closed…

"Show off." Mira muttered under her breath.

Instinctively, she activated her spatial perception to track him.

However, with how weird it was in the Primordial Expanse, in the sense that she couldn't detect any living things, she quickly gave up on that idea.

Still, she had a feeling.

And moments later, she couldn't help but let out a chuckle, the sound bubbling up before she could stop it.

She had found him — or more accurately, she had found where he had gone.

While her spatial perception didn't allow for her to track any living beings, she could still perceive the environment around her with perfect precision.

And there was one particular place in her periphery that she recognised instantly when her senses covered it.

"Rothwind's smithy."

Mira said, amusement dripping from her voice.

So this was why Alex had led her on that wild goose chase along the city wall for so long.

Because he had this idea in mind the whole time.

It would be hard to forget the location of the smithy, since it was practically rubbing walls with the huge outer city wall, and Alex must have come up with the bright idea of using it as a stealthier way to enter the city than just entering through the front gates with everything out for everyone to see.

With this realisation in mind, Mira suddenly leaped off the ground a good 650 metres in the air, if not more.

With the city walls being 500 metres tall, she actually had to put a little bit of exertion into her jump.

But from that height, she could now see Rothwind's smithy as clear as day, which was exactly the reason she performed such a move.

Unlike Alex with his show off abilities, Mira could only teleport with her eyesight.

Mira shook her head when she felt her feet touch solid ground within the city, right outside Rothwind smithy.

She could already hear Rothwind's shouting from all the way outside.

Of all the places Alex could have snuck into…

But while she found the whole thing amusing, she was actually impressed with Alex's idea.

It at least saved them a lot of time and embarrassment.

They would have probably made their way over to Rothwind's smithy some time after entering the city anyway, so this just saved them all of the boring time they would have spent in between.

With her face still full of smiles, Mira straightened herself and opened up the door to Rothwind's smithy.

And just like she had expected, the moment she went inside, her ears were met with the fury Rothwind had to offer.

But her smile very quickly faded when she took a look around.

Completely the opposite to her thoughts, the shouting from Rothwind she was hearing earlier was not directed at Alex at all.

But at a… Red Demon?

'What the fuck is going on!?'

Naturally, Mira was utterly confused.

***

Less than a minute earlier.

Everything went according to Alex's plan, and after walking along the edge of the city for the last couple dozen minutes, he had finally picked up on Rothwind's smithy with his spatial perception.

And, just according to his plan to amuse both himself and Mira, he teleported directly inside with his spatial perception, a special surprise that would naturally arouse many questions from Mira when she makes her way into the smithy herself.

But when he closed his eyes and reopened them, his feet didn't touch the cold, concrete floor like he was expecting…

Instead, he landed atop something in a sitting position.

In fact, it felt suspiciously like he was on somebody's shoulders…

He opened his eyes, but…

What he saw made him want to both laugh and cry.

He was in fact sitting on someone's shoulders, but he was the wrong way around.

And his 'little fellow' was getting suspiciously close to the unsuspecting victim's mouth.

However, Alex was much more concerned by the fact that the person he had just landed on was a Red Demon!
