Chapter 204 - To Have What It Takes
Trisha Jane came out of the Principal's Office. Her usual domineering aura intimidated the four. Her golden eyes pan over the five people there and even looked at the sixth person who was running towards them.
But then... her eyes moved towards Teren again.
"You..."
The four sweated.
'There will definitely be a fight!'
'The Hat Guy is immensely strong but Boss just leveled up. I don't think she will be beaten up again.'
'I have to get out of here.'
They looked at each other and have the same thoughts...
They should get out of the way.
"Who are you?" Trisha narrowed her eyes towards Teren, "You look familiar." she muttered.
"So it's true that you got stronger."
Teren whispered too but Trisha failed to hear it since Nick called out.
"How come you're already here?"
He just ran all the way there from the school gate after seeing that Teren disappeared.
"I saw these four so I thought I should ask them."
"You mean those four?" Nick pointed at the people making their escape.
Teren silently nodded.
"Who are you and why are you here?"
Trisha crossed her arms under her chest. Meanwhile, Nick thought that this girl was cute.
"Boss, I finished cleaning your ceiling."
Before Teren introduces himself, a voice came from within which Trisha called out.
"Chihua, come here. There are suspicious guys out here."
"Suspicious guys!?"
Chihua rushed to the scene. He was wearing an apron, creating a contradiction towards his delinquent look.
He looked at the two. At first, he thought that Nick was the guy he should be worried about. But at the next second, he recognized Teren.
"Y-you!"
Chihua pointed, his face paled.
"Yeah, I think he's familiar too." Trisha agreed.
'Boss is so calm... maybe she no longer fears him!' Chihua took a step back while finding shelter behind Trisha. But then, what Trisha just said sank into him, "Wait... Boss, you don't recognize him?"
"No..." she shook her head.
"Boss... he's that guy!"
Chihua frantically replied.
"Ah! That guy!"
Trisha just remembered.
"Yes, he's that guy!"
"You're that guy who didn't fear the gun, right?! We met at the convenience store!"
Trisha widely smiled and put her hand forward, offering a handshake.
Although Chihua was a little jealous since he wasn't offered a handshake back then, this matter is serious so he immediately said.
"No, Boss! He's the Hat Guy! Don't you recognize him?"
The moment the words 'Hat Guy' entered Trisha's ears, she disappeared and appeared in front of Teren. There was no hesitation. Her fist was pulled while her eyes fearlessly stared at Teren's.
Nick didn't even have the time to react as the wind blows from her movement.
Teren looked around first and saw that there are a lot of eyes.
Pak!*
There was a terrifying sound that echoed in the school ground, taking more attention from the students.
A body flew back and landed meters away.
Only when the wind blew stronger due to the impact did Nick realize what just happened. Thus, he shouted.
"Teren!"
He turned around and saw Teren was already meters away while lying on the ground.
"So your name's Teren."
A dangerous aura emitted from Trisha. But with a shake of her head, making her lustrous ponytail flutter, she dispersed that aura. Only charisma, strength, and confidence could be seen from her.
"I didn't know that we would meet so soon!"
She became excited as seen from her wide smile. Instead of fear that plague her before, there was only a competitive spirit. Trisha believes that she's stronger than the object of her fear, therefore, she wouldn't let it get to her.
Teren sat up and spat out a mouthful of blood. He propped his jaw back to its proper place.
"Teren, are you okay!?"
Nick ran towards him and asked.
"I'm fine."
"What's with that girl? I didn't even see her approach us."
Nick's heartbeat hastened from anxiety. From a cute girl to a beast, that's the image Trisha has formed into his eyes.
"I said it's fine, stop panicking, Nick."
Teren patted Nick's shoulder before using it to stand up.
"I'm not here to fight."
He then said to Trisha.
This statement, however, just gave Trisha a short laugh.
"Haha! So what? I don't know how you got out of jail but a murderer is a murderer. I have the responsibility to straighten you up and make you save more than two hundred people. It's the least you can do to repent killing two people."
She heroically replied. The surprising thing though, this reply came from the bottom of her heart.
This was music to Teren's ears. This just means that this girl really has what it takes.
"Do you know why I killed them?"
With that one question, Trisha became silent. She too wanted to know. Although she believes that there are really evil people, she doesn't believe that one can be evil without a reason. If she can know why then she will know how to straighten him up.
"You will tell me?"
"Yes, don't you find it strange? Even after I killed two people in public, here I am, out of jail. There's a reason for it and I want to tell you."
Teren said while holding his punched cheek.
"Are you saying you will tell me?"
"Yes, I believe that you have what it takes to learn the answer."
Trisha likes hearing things like this. Saying that she's special is the greatest flatter for her. Therefore, she nodded.
"Then tell me."
Teren didn't say anything though, he just looked around. Trisha understood this and said.
"Then follow me. This man, Chihua can hear it, he's basically my pet."
Nick scratched his head, not following what they were talking about. But since Teren said it's fine, it should be fine.
Meanwhile, Chihua was full of apprehension towards Teren. He wanted to say that Teren is dangerous but he believes that Trisha will not do things that she does not take confidence in.
Trisha entered the Principal's office. This subtle move showed her cautiousness. The only time she will show her back is when they have distance. Now that she's inside, she faced Teren and invited him in.
Teren internally nodded in agreement. Along with Nick, he entered the office. Then... out of expectation, Nick immediately closed the door as he was instructed!
"What are you-!"
Chihua shouted but Teren was already on the move.
Trisha saw all of this and didn't just stand by. She focused on Teren's next move but... the gap between their experience is immeasurable.
One grew up as a delinquent. Fighting out in the streets and school was her life. Meanwhile, the other one was always being chased by professional killers. He adapted, learned how to protect himself, and learned from those who wants to kill him.
Thud*
Trisha was put to the floor with her hand behind her back.
"Strength is not everything.." Teren said to her, "No, even in the contest of strength, do you think you wouldn't lose? You're not the only one who have improved her Spirit."
