Chapter 228: Adventure Association
Upon the unsealing was completed, Xu Feng was beyond speechless at the rarity of the item.
Who would have thought the Mirage Pendant was of Legendary rarity?
At this stage of the game, where even Rare equipment was scarce, he had managed to obtain a Legendary item.
Although the item itself wasn't an offensive type, its utility usage allowed him to do much more. The fact that it was a Legendary rarity meant that even the most powerful identification skills would have a hard time detecting his disguise.
"Just what is Sandy's origin?" Xu Feng furrowed his brows, finding Sandy to be even more mysterious with the discovery of such an item rarity.
Alas, no matter how hard he tried to recall, there was no information regarding Sandy in his memory.
If Sandy was truly someone special and held prominence, he should have at least recalled some information, just like how he was able to remember Herbalist Elias.
Yet Sandy remained a complete mystery to him.
Shaking his head, Xu Feng decided to stop his brain from overclocking in trying to recall any sort of information regarding her.
Since Sandy had subtly revealed her ability, then he was positive that she was going to continue to reveal more. By that time, he could just try to piece the clues together.
Sometime later, Xu Feng began making his way to the Adventure Association.
Previously, Sandy had emphasized that he needed to get registered at the Adventure Association for the Guild Hall Charter to work, as well as some sort of assignment she had informed them about.
To remain secretive, she even told him that he would know by the time he got there.
Walking through the quiet streets, Xu Feng sighed softly. 'A city population greatly affects the city's development. I'll need to find a way to attract people here fast.'
Had it not been for the Mirage Pendant, Xu Feng wouldn't have chosen Star Falls City to develop. It was just too tedious, but the temptation was hard to resist either.
After strolling the desolate streets, Xu Feng arrived at the Adventure Association.
Usually, the Adventure Association was the most crowded place, with people coming in and out constantly like the stream of a river, never stopping. Continue reading at m|v-l'e -NovelBin.net
However, the truth was, there were barely any NPC adventurers around, with the lobby looking quite gloomy. The guild quest board looked so rusty, with even some cobwebs on the top corner, a clear definition that no one bothered cleaning it.
At this point, the Adventure Association here was even inferior to some of the underdeveloped beginner towns.
'Oh boy, this does not look good.' Xu Feng smiled bitterly, heading toward the guild receptionist's desk.
Walking toward the receptionist desk, Xu Feng saw a female NPC in the usual adventure association attire, taking a nap without a care.
"Ahem," Xu Feng faked a cough, hoping to wake the latter up from her nap.
Alas, the receptionist seemed to be in a deep slumber, prompting him to resort to another method.
Forming a fist, Xu Feng began banging loudly on the desk repeatedly.
THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!
Alarmed, the receptionist quickly woke up, confusion flashed in her eyes as she wiped the drool off her mouth.
"Are we being invaded?" The receptionist exclaimed, glancing left and right, only to realize the lobby was still the same old except for an unknown person standing in front of her.
Annoyed, she glared at Xu Feng and scolded, "Why did you bang so loudly on my desk? I thought we were under attack or something."
"Are you mad at me?" Xu Feng remained calm and smiled lightly. In fact, he was so amused that he patiently banged the desk again.
Fuming, the receptionist was about to lash out until she finally noticed something. Instantly, her rage was quenched, replaced with an ashen facial expression.
"I-I'm sorry for not recognizing you, Baron." The receptionist quickly apologized.
Although the Adventure Association could be considered an independent organization, that didn't mean they could outright ignore or be rude toward a noble, especially toward the location they are situated in.
The Adventure Association was situated in Star Falls City which was under the jurisdiction of the Aetheria Empire, and Xu Feng was a Baron from there.
A noble might not be able to command the Adventure Association to do whatever they wanted, but that didn't mean they couldn't throw a fuss and complain, especially when it was the employees at fault and not the noble.
If Xu Feng decided to complain and expose her work antics to her superior or the higher-ups, she could kiss her job goodbye. In fact, she might even be barred from working in similar positions.
"Forget it, I have no intention of pursuing this matter further." Xu Feng waved his hand.
A sigh of relief instantly came out from the receptionist as she quickly tidied up herself.
"How may the Adventure Association assist you, Baron?" The receptionist calmly asked, her tone filled with politeness.
"Well, I came here to construct a guild residence." Xu Feng explained, taking out the Guild Hall Charter.
"Additionally, Receptionist Sandy from Riverwood Town sent me here to do something." He added.
Meanwhile, the receptionist went into a daze. Her eyes stared at Xu Feng for a good few seconds before snapping out of it.
"Receptionist Sandy sent you here?" She asked, seemingly trying to confirm it.
"Yes, she has sent me here to do something on her behalf."
"Give me a moment." The receptionist quickly said, taking a glance at the Guild Hall Charter.
Within a few seconds, her expression changed, and a hint of reverence began flashing in her eyes as she glanced at Xu Feng.
"It's my honor to meet you, Baron Lin Feng. I'm Jessica and I'll have to bring you to the VIP room to discuss the details with you further." The receptionist introduced herself as Jessica and suggested going to the VIP Room to continue the discussion.
'The VIP Room?' Astonished, Xu Feng realized the task Sandy asked him to do was far from simple.
