Chapter 249: Xu Feng’s Move
Zhao Liang's appearance was not too late or too early. In fact, it was just perfect.
Not to mention, the moment he arrived, Zhao Heng became a coward and was reprimanded harshly by Zhao Liang, effectively displaying a show of his authority.
Followed after that was him warmly greeting his daughter while ignoring his illegitimate son.
These consecutive actions seemed logical with the information the guests knew on the surface, but not for Xu Feng.
For someone who had been scheming for a while, Xu Feng would be ridiculed if he couldn't see the amount of fake acts that Zhao Liang had pulled off.
Loving father?
What a laughable statement.
While Zhao Liang hurriedly went to the front to greet his father, Xu Feng turned to Zhao Kai. "We should greet your grandfather properly now. Otherwise, people will really take you as invisible."
"Uhh…" Zhao Kai glanced at the front and back to Xu Feng, clearly hesitant about greeting his grandfather.
Alas, he had no other choice, given Zhao Xin also chimed in and said, "Yes, listen to your friend and hurriedly greet your grandfather."
Now that both his friend and sister suggested this to him, Zhao Kai could only grit his teeth and mustered up his courage.
"Alright then." He said begrudgingly, making his way toward his grandfather.
However, to his surprise, Xu Feng was right behind him.
"You're following me?" Zhao Kai raised an eyebrow and asked in shock.
"Of course," Xu Feng chuckled softly. "I ate so much of the food here. It would be impolite of me to not even send a blessing."
Finding his explanation logical, Zhao Kai was more than happy to have him in the back. Otherwise, he might really faint from the pressure and tension.
A few seconds later, Zhao Liang had already greeted the much displeased Zhao Gaofu, who was clearly reprimanding the former for his lack of discipline in his sons.
"You can't even teach them proper etiquette. What kind of father are you?" Zhao Gaofu reprimanded, ignoring the guests' presence.
His attitude toward him was completely different when compared to Zhao Xin. He was cautious in lecturing Zhao Xin, even giving in to her scheme, but for Zhao Liang, he had no qualms in making him lose face.
Amidst the tension, Zhao Kai got pushed forward by Xu Feng, instantly attracting everyone's attention.
By now, the guests had long known about Zhao Kai's presence at this party. They were all eager to see what this illegitimate son planned on doing here.
"H-Happy birthday… grandfather." Zhao Kai stutteringly said, clearly nervous upon facing his supposed grandfather's gaze.
Meanwhile, Zhao Xin facepalmed on the side, visibly disappointed at Zhao Kai's performance.
She had specifically warned him time and time again to be confident. Their grandfather was a prideful man, so what he hated the most was timid people or people who boasted big without substance to back them up.
Naturally, a few of the more knowledgeable guests suppressed their laughter at Zhao Kai's behavior.
In fact, some even wondered if Zhao Heng was correct in his judgment when talking about Zhao Kai.
Zhao Kai trembled slightly, his hands fidgeting. The anxiety was too much for him to handle, and Xu Feng sighed softly.
Indeed, it was a bit too much to expect Zhao Kai to overcome this hurdle. Chapter Continue:
Others might be judging him or laughing at his foolishness, but this was a traumatic experience for him.
Toward a grandfather that he had rarely met, especially with the cold treatment he received and constant harassment within the Zhao Family. It would be surprising if Zhao Kai could stand up proudly.
Patting him on the back, Xu Feng smoothly pulled him away, taking the front and gazing at Zhao Gaofu.
"Greetings to you, Kai's grandfather. I'm Xu Feng and a friend of Kai." Xu Feng cupped his fist and confidently greeted.
"I won't say much since it's just a superficial verbal blessing anyway. Instead, I'll give you a hint to retain your health and possibly regain your vigorous youth."
As soon as Xu Feng finished his statement, the guests started gasping in shock.
Even Zhao Gaofu scrutinized Xu Feng, seemingly wondering if the latter was making a fool out of him.
If that was the case, then Zhao Gaofu truly didn't mind teaching him a lesson. After all, he was just enraged horribly by one of his grandsons.
Do people take him for an old tiger that could no longer bite?
"Is what you said the truth?" Zhao Gaofu asked calmly.
However, anyone familiar with him would know it was the calm before the storm. One wrong response and an unleashed beast would come out from within him.
"Of course," Xu Feng smirked and adjusted his glasses. "Do you really take me for a fool like Zhao Heng? This is your birthday party and not a raging party."
"How dare you!" Zhao Liang roared and glared at Xu Feng for his audacity remark.
"Can you just shut your mouth when adults are talking?' In response, Xu Feng scolded Zhao Liang. "Or do you want your father to die early so you can regain the Zhao Enterprise?"
"W-What nonsense are you saying?" Baffled, Zhao Liang was dumbfounded by the venomous tongue of Xu Feng.
"Nonsense eh? So you really want to prevent your grandfather from regaining his youth."
"That's not what I meant!"
"Oh, then what do you mean by interrupting me?" Xu Feng crossed his arms and asked.
Infuriated, Zhao Liang didn't know what was wrong with Xu Feng for accusing him repeatedly.
As for the guests, they were astonished, with a few being amused. The longer they watched the show, the more they realized how disoriented the Zhao Family was as a whole. It was truly a spectacle, to say the least.
"You are just—"
"Enough!" Zhao Gaofu, who had been silent for a while, shouted fiercely.
Veins seemed to be bulging out of his forehead as he glared angrily at Zhao Liang.
First, it was his grandson that embarrassed him, and now it was his son making a scene.
This was truly one heck of a birthday party he had in years.
