Chapter 237: Arwen vs Citrios
Chapter 237: Arwen vs Citrios
"You, me, Arena"
Citrio pointed at Arwen and left the building taking his son and his remaining friends away.
"My lord, you shouldn't have done that, if you lose, he will not only push you, he will kill us too"
One of the elven girls came rushing to Arwen after Citrio left and the other girls nodded hearing her.
"Who said I'm going to lose, pack your things, we are leaving this place"
Arwen said and moved closer
"Sar're quor nesh va var"
(We're here for you)
He whispered into the girl's ears in elvish, the language that only elves could talk. The girl felt goosebumps all over her body hearing Elvish after a long long time because none of them were allowed to utter a word in Elvish.
How was this possible?
How could a human talk Elvish?
Who is he?
Many questions appeared in the girl's mind but he left the building with his men before the girl could ask any question.
"Joel, find her family and help them pack their things, I have a battle to fight"
"Arwen, as much as I love a good battle myself, you shouldn't take it lightly, Citrio is extremely good at fighting and have many vicious spells under his belt"
Rodrigo warned Arwen as he let out a gentle smile and said
"You should worry about him, Prince Rodrigo"
Arwen retrieved a big arrow from his space ring and stepped on it to fly to the arena.
"I hope his majesty forgive us"
Joel gave a deep sigh and looked at the girl lying in his arms.
"Are they worth all this trouble, Joel?do you think your king would be happy hearing what you'd done here"
"To be honest, I don't know what his majesty would think, but I do know one thing"
Joel looked up at Rodrigo with a stern look
"If something happened to Arwen, both of our kingdoms will be at war"
Joel knew the power of Everlight and even though MAiris had the biggest naval fleet and a considerable number of soldiers, if Everlight dispatched all their army at once, Mairis wouldn't stand a chance.
"War with Mairis, it'd be a bad business for your kingdom, Joel"
**************************
The arena was nothing but a huge ground with rows of seats around it for the audiences. It was nothing fancy like the Arena of Enarin.
"You came, I thought you will leave Mairis"
"Don't worry, where I come from, we won't run away from a battle"
"Good, very good"
Citrios grinned while the crowd became excited to see the battle, even more, the Mairians wanted to see if the Captain of the renowned black ones could defeat their powerful warrior.
Among the crowd, Arwen noticed some of the girls from the red lavender looking at him nervously. The girls stood there frozen as they were crying deep down without any tears showing.
All these years of being cheap harlots who were forced to their bodies to strangers, they felt extremely helpless and sad. Today, Someone was willing to help them and promised them a better life. Regardless of how the battle would turn out, knowing that someone wanted to help them without taking advantage of them was a sort of consolation to them.
"Are you ready, Captain Arwen?"
He snickered when he said Captain as Arwen smiled
"Just shut up and fight"
Citrios clenched his fist as fiery red energy enveloped him like a shield.
On the other side, Arwen quickly took his bow out and nocked an arrow as Citrios sent a ball of fire at him.
Boom boom boom
Citrios rapidly sent fireballs at Arwen as he couldn't even fire a single arrow. The Mairians cheered for Citrios and laughed at Arwen who was running and jumping around the arena to dodge the fireballs.
To use the height as an advantage, Arwen had no walls or beams to climb and he knew that the only way to beat Citrios seemed to be getting close to him but looking at his shield and the fireballs, he realized it would be extremely hard to get close to him.
"I told him"
Rodrigo was watching the battle from above sitting on his eagle.
"If your opponent is faster than you, be smarter and distract him"
He remembered Knight's word looking at all the sand on the ground.
"Give up, boy, I can do this all day"
Citrios knew there's no way he could reach him through the fireballs but while he was laughing, he saw the arrow in Arwen's hand glow.
However, the crowd was perplexed when they saw him aiming at the ground rather than at Citrios.
"What is he aiming at?"
"Has he gone mad? Hehehe"
The crowd laughed as the girls gasped for air.
Boom
Just as they were laughing, Arwen released the arrow while barely evading the fireball. The arrow was enveloped with bound energy and when it hit the ground, it exploded and created a mini sandstorm in the arena.
The sandstorm made everyone close their eyes and obstructed Citrios's vision as he started to throw fireballs all over the place without knowing where Arwen was.
And suddenly through the sandstorm, his shield was hit by a volley of arrows. Citrios quickly changed his aim and sent fireballs at where the arrows were coming.
When the sandstorm appeared to be calming down, Arwen fired another arrow at the ground and created an even bigger sandstorm. Thanks to his Asura archer training, he could locate Citrios using his heartbeat through the sandstorm.
"Let's see how you going to face this"
Citrios guessed that he was firing based on his location as he quickly changed his location and increased his firing rate.
Yet, his plan didn't work as the arrows still found their way through the sandstorm and hit his shield.
He could feel his shield weakening as he frowned because the shield shouldn't be getting weak after taking only twenty or thirty arrows.
"What the heck?"
The arrows started to almost pierce his shield and he had no idea how he was able to fire with extreme precision despite the sandstorm.
And when Arwen was getting closer to Citrios, the fireballs suddenly stopped and Arwen sensed he was going for another spell.
He knew that Cirtrios would go for the same type of spell again as he quickly took out the shields that the dwarves made for him out of his instincts.
Just like his instincts told him, Citrios changed his spell and instead of fireballs, he sent crescent-shaped fire blades through the sandstorm.
Arwen realized that the sooner he ended this battle the better as he slid under the blade of fire.
"Void Arrow"
He took out the black arrow in his quiver and uttered the word as thick bound energy enveloped the arrow.
It was the only spell in the Asura Archer book that he had mastered yet and the most powerful attack in his arsenal. Using his every bit of bound energy and skill, Arwen fired the void arrow with lightning speed.
"What is that?"
From above Rodrigo saw a black line appear towards Citrio and the moment it reached Citrio's shield, the arrow went straight through Citrio's chest and pinned him to the wall far behind him.
"He lost?"
"Lord Citrio lost"
With a wave of his hand, Arwen sent a blast of wind and settled the sandstorm in the area. When the arena cleared of sand, the people were confused and shocked seeing Citrio handing on the wall like a wall-mounted statue.
However, Arwen didn't give much time for Citrio to remove the arrow from his chest as he sent another arrow that pierced into the wall just an inch above Citrio's head.
"FATHER!"
Lydus cried and came running towards his father while Arwen put his bow back.
"You lost, Lord Citrio, now honor our bet"
"No, it can't be, no"
The girls from the red lavender cheered for Arwen in their hearts as they heaved a sigh of relief.
"CITRIOS!"
Suddenly an earth-shaking roar appeared out of nowhere and echoed through the entire kingdom.
"Grandpa"
Lydus shouted as Arwen looked up and saw an Oldman on a long trident descending from the sky. The old man had long white hair and a bushy beard and wore a full white robe.
"Heavenly level"
Arwen took a step back when the old man revealed his cultivation. The old man walked towards Citrio with a clenched fist and pulled the void arrow from his chest.
"Father"
The void arrow had done quiet damage to his energy circulation so Citrio looked pale and weak.
But when the old man placed his hand on Citrio's forehead, the color returned in his face and the wound started to close.
"How dare you?"
The old man gritted his teeth as he was billing in rage and turned to look at Arwen.
Arwen couldn't open his mouth because something sucked the air out of his lungs and he was gasping for air.
"You came to my kingdom, attacked my son and grandson, what an audacity? "
Arwen's face started to turn pale and his limbs started to wiggle
"Today I shall end your lowly life and erase your pathetic kingdom off the map"
