Chapter 403: Meeting to plan out the Large Town
Chapter 403: Meeting to plan out the Large Town
It had been a few days since they had started setting up the garden and it had come a long way since then. Joshua brought in some other guild members to help fix the place up with Grace leading everything since she had the most experience with the medical plants and how they should be handled. Over those few days every lake in the garden had a field set up nearby with medical plants along with a bee colony in a nearby forest. There was still a lot of space for a lot more medical plants or other plants they wanted to place in the garden, but they weren't in any rush. They still hadn't even used the sphere in the dungeon where the quickest growth rate was located.
With all of that set up Joshua and the rest of the guild turned their attention to something else that they needed to get started. The alliance had spent the last two months practically ignoring the large town that they had subjugated, but it was time for them to start to get to work on it. They had four months to get it set up to the point where they could defend it from other large groups that could try to take it in a territory war. Unlike with James Town this town was far bigger and was under all of their guilds jurisdiction. When it came to large towns multiple guilds could form and alliance to own the town, even so in territory wars a max of a thousand people could participate from that alliance. It wasn't until things got to city scale that the amount of people that could participate in a territory war would change drastically.
For the moment the members of the alliance were planning to have a short meeting about how they planned on setting up the new territory, but it wasn't a meeting that involved too many people. From the Fenrir Guild Joshua and Henry were both going to take part in the meeting. It was obvious that Joshua was there as the guild leader while Henry was there since he was the usual mind behind the operations of the Fenrir Guild.
From the Serpent Guild there was Madalyn and Isabella who were joining in the meeting. Both choices were obvious since Madalyn was the guild leader and Isabella was her right hand woman. Joshua had made sure to tell Madalyn about his run in with the giant snake in the canyon. The look of excitement he had seen spread across her face after learning about that was infectious. Joshua still remembered how disappointed Madalyn was with the snake in the canyon dungeon, but he had a good feeling that she would match really well with the old snake that seemed to have a similar personality.
From the Phoenix Guild Laura and Natalie were joining the meeting. Both were used to running things in their guild and were prepared to help lead the charge when it came to setting up the new large base for the alliance. The only other two people that were joining in on the meeting were the twins Nathan and Naomi. They both would help gathering the materials needed from the market that they wouldn't regularly be able to get from the system. They also had a lot people in their guild that were willing to help out wherever needed on the support side of things.
With this group they had the brains behind the alliance for the most part and were ready to get things set up for the big undertaking of creating a new base for the alliance. "Well now that we're all here it's time to decide on what we're going to do with the large town. We've been putting it off for two months already at this point and although we definitely had other business to handle it's about time we focus on this for a short period." Joshua said kicking the meeting off.
"We need to at least get things started so we can focus on reaching the level where we can all explore the other side of the prairie. That's our next big expedition after all and I'm sure the moment we get involved with that we will completely forget about our new territory." Henry said with a shrug before turning to look at Isabella. "What do you think about the town set up?"
Isabella seemed to think over Henry's question for only a moment before bringing up a map of the territory. From the map Joshua and everyone else were able to get a bird's eye view of the structure of the Large Town. At this point all of the buildings and ruble that once filled the town along with the purple haze had already been cleared out. Although they hadn't been paying much attention to the town over the last couple of months they did have the decency to use the robots gained from the system in the territory to clear out all of the ruble. Over the six month period they wouldn't have to worry about beast attacking the area so they could use the robots for now without having to stay around and protect them.
With all of the ruble cleared out they were all able to get a good idea of the environment they were left with to build their new large town on. The two most obvious traits to the region were the fact that there was a mountain range just behind the territory that blocked off one side completely and there was a small river that ran directly through the center of the territory and cut through the mountain range behind it. From what Joshua remembered while fighting the large corrupt gorilla it was almost as if the town had been built near the base of the mountain range. There was enough space between the mountain side and the town that a rock slide wouldn't cause damage to any of the buildings. The mountains weren't big enough to cause such problems anyways.
The river on the other hand was a trait of the town that could lead to a lot of prospects for the town's future. Having a close water supply was always good for any form of civilization and that was the one advantage the location had over James Town. These two traits were going to have to be taken into consideration when building up the town. Isabella seemed to be the first one to realize these facts since she already had the river and the mountainside highlighted on the map.
"From what I can tell the mountain side could be a bit troublesome for a territory. Although the creatures in this mountainside aren't as high leveled as the mountainside near James Town, since the mountains are closer and much smaller it wouldn't surprise me if beast tides could come down from the mountains more regularly. Will have to plan for that when setting up the defenses for the town. The river however can be a huge benefit that could help provide water for the different necessities of town especially with all the new equipment and technology from the system that can help avoid polluting the environment. Those are the two things we need to focus on." Isabella widened the map after she finished her explanation so that others in the group could point out things easily.
"Hmm well from the base designs we've had so far I'd say James Town's design would be the best set up with a few tweaks here and there." Madalyn said with a shrug. "It's in a similar situation to some extent in comparison to our other bases which are mostly in open locations."
"True, but I can already see a few things that we'd have to shift to accommodate the different circumstances." Natalie said as she pointed to the area in between where the town was located. "Unlike with James town where the mountains are to the sides of the town allowing the turrets in the area to be able to move around and target any creatures that come from them, the mountains here are to close and wouldn't give the turrets much room to aim upwards. Any turrets placed at a back wall next to the side of the mountain would be useless."
"Hmm that's true. If we do go with a turret defense for the backside of the town against any approaching monsters during a beast tide then it would be best to have turret towers further into town. We could also use the space in between the backside of town and the mountains to trap any flightless enemies during a beast tide. A few shifts in design and we can turn the entire problem into an advantage for us." Henry said with a lazy smile as he started pointing out some simple solutions. "Are we going to have the same guy come and help design the town?"
"Yeah he did a great job with James Town, so I don't see why we wouldn't work with him again." Joshua said with a smile. "I'll get in touch with Oscar tomorrow so that he can start gathering architects to help build the town. This ones larger so it will probably take him some more time. I'm sure Julia will want in on helping design the town as well."
"Alright that makes things simple when it comes to the town, but there's one other problem were going to have to deal with while they're busy fixing up the town." Laura said as she pointed once again to the mountains. "My guild and Madalyn's guild have both been clearing out the nearby territories so that we can have as many advantages in them as possible. We didn't want other guilds coming over and getting any of them for themselves making things more difficult for us in the future."
"Yep, it would be a pain in the ass not to be able to ride or horse through a territory because it was in someone else's control that wouldn't give us access to it." Madalyn said with a shrug.
"The only territory left that needs to be cleared out is the mountainside which is a level eighty territory, so nothing we haven't dealt with before." Laura said while looking towards Joshua and Henry. "We were wondering if you're guild would want to claim the territory. Although we can all take advantage of the benefits of each other's territories since we're in an alliance we thought it would help you guys reach the level necessary for the other side of the prairie."
Joshua nodded since he noticed that Madalyn and Laura were both level eighty at this point. They were prepared to dive into the other side of the prairie while Joshua was still at level seventy-eight although he was on the verge of leveling up. Henry and his other close friends were all level eighty at this point as well, but the rest of the alliance members were still a little bit below that mark.
"Josh as long as you reach level eighty then our alliance can proceed to dive into the other side of the prairie. Your Heroic shout will allow even members in our guilds below level eighty to be able to withstand the pressure of beast up to level ninety." Isabella said explaining the main reason why they wanted to get him leveled up as quickly as possible.
"Alright then, that'll be what our guild will focus on next, but let's get things rolling on putting this town together first." Joshua said getting a nod from everyone as they went back to discussing the best way they could use the area as an advantage for the alliance.
