Chapter 348: Fourth World: Misunderstanding Su Xin's Sore Muscles

Wen Qinxi felt he had seriously underestimated yoga. This low impact exercise seems nice and relaxed whenever he saw the poses online but once he experienced it himself, he had a dozen complaints. Every muscle in his body ached. Back, thighs, abdominal muscles you name it. It all hurt like a son of a bitch.

When Qie Ranzhe picked him up things were okay but as soon as he woke up the next morning it was as if a ton of bricks were dropped on his person. Even walking downstairs was a chore in itself earning him funny looks from the entire family sitting by the breakfast table.

Maybe it was because the word exercise didn't belong in his vocabulary that it hurt this much. He held onto the door frame eyeing Qie Ranzhe as though staring at a dead man. At first, he thought Qie Ranzhe asked him to do this as punishment to humiliate him but it turns out the punishment was the sore muscles. Well, yoga sore muscles aren't this bad but for a person who had beef with pain, it became greatly exaggerated.

Qie Ranzhe stood up to help his lover walk from the door frame to the breakfast table. He was so careful in his actions that it would give one the illusion that Su Xin was pregnant again. For sure his actions were misunderstood by Madam Qie. She came up with two conjectures from this scene.

One, Qie Ranzhe overdid it and broke Su Xin's back last night. Two, Su Xin was carrying another bun in the oven. She eyed the two suspiciously as though trying to figure out which conjecture is true.

Wen Qinxi felt her gaze on his body making him feel awkward. Madam Qie wasn't the only one eyeing Su Xin suspiciously. Qie Xieling was also wondering why his dad looked like he was run over by a car. His conjectures were far from Madam Qie's. He was thinking what fun thing did his dad do last night and why Su Xin didn't bring him along.

Feeling left out, he asked, "Soooo... what were you up to last night? You didn't drink with Nana last night again, did you?"

Before Wen Qinxi could even answer Madam Qie denied her involvement while placing pieces of fried sweet potato in Su Xin's bowl. "No, this isn't my doing though.... would you like me to take you to see a doctor today?" she asked with caution. She didn't want to be direct because Qie Xieling was sitting beside her.

'What the fuck?' thought Wen Qinxi with a raised brow. He couldn't imagine what sort of reaction the doctor would have if he walked into the ER for yoga induced muscle ache. What was his mother in law thinking?

Qie Ranzhe on the other hand knew exactly what his mother was thinking. His lips quirked up as he reached his hand to rub Su Xin's tummy. He couldn't fend off the urge to tease Su Xin so he said, "I will buy you some iron supplements later today," raising both his eyebrows rapidly with a sly smile.

Wen Qinxi stared at him for a while trying to figure out what the look on Qie Ranzhe meant. Paired with the words iron supplements he quickly figured what this man was implying.

"Oh S.H.T! Such an S.O.B," said Wen Qinxi announcing the abbreviations of the curse words while playfully smacking his shoulder. He couldn't help but flush in embarrassment.

Qie Ranzhe found his reaction amusing so he chuckled trying to move away. The two looked like a couple of high schoolers teasing each other under the bleachers. "Hey, who are you calling a B?" said Madam Qie covering Qie Xieling's ears but of course Qie Xieling had no idea what S.O.B and S.H.T meant. His grandma's reaction had him conclude that they were bad words.

"I think I know what S.H.T means but what's S.O.B?" asked Qie Xieling recalling some of the swear words his classmates posted in the group chat.

"Eat more... talk less," said Qie Ranzhe shoving a slice of cucumber into Qie Xieling's mouth. Kids these days are too clever.

The table fell into silence for a moment but Qie Xieling and Madam Qie were still looking at Su Xin funny. He felt like a peculiar animal at the zoo that people stare at intently as though trying to figure out what it is exactly. Is it a horse or is it a donkey?

"Uh? Then if it isn't that I suggest you two play less. It's no use if you break him Ah' Ran. Remember he is a man and things lik.....," she said but didn't get to finish because Su Xin almost choked on his food. This woman was too straight forward.

Qie Ranzhe gave Su Xin a glass of water finding today's breakfast especially exciting.

"What... I can't say it? Look at his lip. What kind of game are you two playing exactly?" she asked wondering what they were getting all worked up for. Her son might have an unconventional preference but that didn't mean she would stop giving advice. If he bullies Su Xin too much he might get dumped then what? They go back to playing where's Waldo running around to look for Su Xin. Her son's mood had improved and she would rather he stays this way.

"Oh, it makes sense. I thought you two went on to do fun things behind my back but it turns out you were exercising... Daddy once made me run three laps as punishment. What were you punishing dad for this time?" said Qie Xieling who had a much pure mind than his Nana.

Everyone, "....."

Wen Qinxi drank a mouthful before clearing his throat to respond, "It was yoga. I went for yoga class yesterday."

"Really?" said a disbelieving Madam Qie who was struggling to fish her mind out of the gutter. Turns out her son in law wasn't pregnant neither were they doing this and that excessively but all that was for yoga. "You must be S.H.Ting me."

Wen Qinxi felt so embarrassed that he wanted to bury his head into the sand like an ostrich. Out of desperation, he tried to change the subject to Qie Xieling's Annual Music Festival but how could Madam Qie let him go that easy.

"How about from now on we go to yoga class together so we can get to know each other?" she suggested thinking having a son in law wasn't so bad. She could drag him everywhere like she used to do to Qie Ranzhe when he was younger. These days she would force Qie Xieling to go with her but the kid was no fun at all always pouting when they went to the spa. This left one person in mind, Su Xin.

"Oh, how about I take you to a relaxing spa and relieve your sore muscles?" she asked a question that wasn't necessarily a question but a command. She immediately stood up not giving Su Xin the chance to refuse.
