Chapter 177 – Counterattack, First Stop
Old Man Tang immediately sent someone to investigate things again, while Xiang Jin felt much more relaxed after gaining the elderly’s promise. She could feel the pressure her troubles had been putting on her mind for so many years halven.
“Thank you, little girl. Rest assured, in the future I’d definitely…”
“Cheap slut, what are you dilly-dallying outside for! You can’t even make a person stay, how useless are you? I’m hungry, quickly come back and make something!” Xiang Jin hadn’t finished talking when the old lady’s revile came from the other side of the door.
Jing Yun Zhao’s eyebrows twitched, watching as Xiang Jin clenched her fist, hatred burning in her eyes.
“I’ll go in first, Uncle Gan you…” Xiang Jin’s brows relaxed, some hints of her tidiness finally showing through.
“Since there’s someone who can solve this problem for you, then I don’t have to entertain this patient anymore,” Gan Song Bai directly declared.
He’d been disturbed by this old woman these past few days and hadn’t been able to get any peace. Originally, he’d brought Jing Yun Zhao here so she could learn something, who knew this old lady would be even fiercer than before?
However, seeing her attitude towards the situation just now, it seemed like she had some confidence against that condition/disease/illness. This standard wasn’t worse than him!
Xiang Jin didn’t insist on making them stay after what happened, so she sent off the grandfather and grandchild pair before she went back in alone. Very quickly, wave after wave of insults started. The neighbours didn’t think too much about it either, this was a daily occurrence after all.
What they didn’t know though, was that the old lady was now scolding because Xiang Jin was ignoring her.
Her spine wasn’t well and she couldn’t even walk at its worst. Xiang Jin immediately locked the door after she went into her room, the old lady left to air dry on the sofa. She didn’t cook nor did she brew the medicine like before, as if the old woman didn’t even exist in the house.
This time the old lady was really angered to death, but after shouting for a few hours, there was still no movement from Xiang Jin.
Without her phone beside her, she had no way to contact her son. Also because of her anger, her bones started to hurt even more, leaving her completely immobile from the pain. She had also scratched her whole body to the point where some places were bleeding because of the itch.
At this point, the old lady did have some regrets. There were so many ways to torment Xiang Jin, she should’ve chosen to get cured first…
On the other side, Old Tang’s speed was swift. Under the pressure of Ning City’s dragon, Qin Zhi Xue’s company was completely unable to last more than a few days before it was in dire states.
Gan Song Bai was worried about Xiang Jin and specially requested Jing Yun Zhao to go check on her. When she stepped through the door, what she saw made her stupefied.
This Xiang Jin had been tortured by the Qin family for so many years, so her heart was full of resentment. Now that she’d started counter-attacking, it was the old lady’s turn to be tormented till she didn’t even look human.
The old woman was still lying askew on the sofa. When she saw Jing Yun Zhao, she opened her mouth but couldn’t speak, her throat too hoarse.
Before her were some fruit seeds sitting on a table, probably left there since a while ago. Even though it was barely within her reach, only luck would allow her to be able to reach for it.
“Scared you?” The sharpness in Xiang Jin’s expression softened some when she saw Jing Yun Zhao by the door.
Jing Yun Zhao shook her head, “I’m fine, but if she starves to death, the one who loses out is you.”
The old lady should’ve lived through these past few days just depending on the fruit seeds in front of her, her daily routines were also done in the living room. Given her illness adding on to her weak constitution, her body might give out soon. If that happened, then Xiang Jin would definitely have to take responsibility.
Though she may say this, Jing Yun Zhao actually didn’t hold a shred of pity for the old woman. She just thought that if it were up to her, she would only act after she had minimized the damage.
“Relax, Qin Zhi Xue would come back today since I’ve already told him I want to divorce.” As she spoke of divorce, excitement flashed in Xiang Jin’s eyes.
Jing Yun Zhao smiled in understanding. No wonder her dressing today was different from before.
These clothes that actually fit her made it look as if she had regained her spirit. No more was the sloppy and depressed look of before. These past few days were probably one of the most relaxed ones Xiang Jin had in the past few years.
There was a strong odour in the house. Xiang Jin dragged over one of the chairs from the district and waited. Soon, a man rushed down from his car and spoke the moment he saw Xiang Jin, “Are you crazy? Do you know how busy I am lately?! Finding trouble for me now, do you still care about your mother?!”
