Chapter 440 Top of the Hill
"I told you guys, I'm Jesús Silva! Unhand me right now!" He shouted for the hundredth time.
But they paid him no mind, even the two holding him down. Questions and orders were busy being shouted over the phone. They couldn't hear anything at how they were but they knew this couldn't have been good.
Sekani was rushed by three officials, one had his knee on his neck. Another held his hand, while the other had a gun on his face.
His name wasn't that great at that moment, he was just a slum rat that got lucky to them. Nobody in this current world knew the Waynworth name. If they did, they'd be treating this man with much more respect than they do the man they answered to.
Sekani, as a part of high society, should have been cursing them out as Silva was doing but he laid there not resisting in the slightest. His father had taught him a lot about the world they lived in, that included how to behave in a situation like this.
While Eldric never thought it would ever be possible for his family to make their way into the upper district, it was the case here but Sekani still abided by his teachings because the people pinning him to the ground saw him as nothing but a slum rat still.
Despite being a very successful business man, whom risked putting Blakeson Tech out of business. He knew that if he even dared act like Silva right now, they'd make it their personal mission to ensure he didn't come down this mine alive.
He knew they were looking for a reason, any small thing he would do they could take advantage of and either shoot him then or torture him to death.
They couldn't do as they pleased because of the cameras installed on them. But everything was almost always on their side even if they went overboard, that's why he was still as a dead body, occasionally smiling at Jesús Silva's temper tantrum.
Mostly because he wasn't close to being held as disrespectfully as Sekani was yet he was howling and demanding to see their superior or that they would be out of jobs before this was over if they didn't unhand him.
Sekani just hoped Nikolai made it to the train and that they'd left this place if that was the case, then they were saved. Exposing this mine would be ten times easier.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
"So obedient, like a dog should be towards its owners. You think we can't do anything to you because you aren't doing anything right now?" One official said trying to get on his nerves.
"That's right. You guys already painted this entire place red with blood, there's a dead body on every corner and you were found right in the midst of it, you think that makes you innocent?"
Sekani ignored them and continued to smile, only to them it came off as a smug smile that mocked them and maybe up to third generations of their families.
"What, you think you're better than us?" The one with a gun on his face turned it around and smashed him in the head with the butt of the gun.
Thinking that would wipe the smile off his face, it was instead intensified. One of the officials holding Sekani down pushed his comrade away.
"What are you doing? Calm down. Sir Boyd will tell us what to do, don't act on your own." The man scolded the other, while the official that hit him nodded his head not seemingly apologetic in the slightest.
"Yeah, you're still very green yet you are letting your emotions drag you by your nose? Don't let that happen again. These cameras catch everything, but since you're still very new a slap on the wrist should be fine." Another one told him.
Sekani let out a soft chuckle. He wanted them to continue talking, continue almost crossing the line because their completely invisible cameras were still rolling. With Silva there not forced to face down, they were gathering good information exposing their faces.
"Do you know who you just hit?" Jesús was a lot less calm. To him, it didn't matter that Sekani was originally from the slums.
He didn't only respect his father Eldric, he'd come to respect the son as well. A good man who only strived to do what was good who'd taken over their world by storm and shaken things up here and there.
It was refreshing, seeing especially Gilbert Blakeson and his entourage squirm.
"Do you think we give a shit about who that idiot is?" The hotheaded one said spitting on the ground, missing Sekani's head by a few inches.
He was held by his clothes by his comrade, "what the hell did I tell you—"
The guy who was on the phone for almost an hour walked into the scene and everyone went quiet and held their positions.
It was clear that he was the man in charge between these officials. He had short silver hair, a long coat that hung on his shoulders instead of being worn. He had black combat boots on, a gun showed from holster, he had a cigarette in his mouth.
He took a long drag and threw it on the ground stomping on it to put it out. Without missing a beat he took out a packet of cigarettes from his pocket and lit another one.
"Now then, I talked to Gilbert Blakeson. We're to take these two in. Collect the evidence around thus place, reach the centre first there should be animals in there. Kill them all." He pointed to the three that stood a little bit farther to him than the rest.
"Yes Mister Williams." They didn't ask anything else and quickly sprung to action.
Jesús shook himself loose from the ones that were detaining him, he walked closer to this Williams.
"Animals? Animals? Those are people you stupid stupid man." He couldn't stop his fist from flying towards his face but Williams did.
"Is there a difference?" He smiled mockingly, "careful now Mister Silva, you're in big boy league now." He blew some smoke on his face.
