This Beast-Tamer is a Little Strange

Chapter 275 The Battle of the Strongest

The tension in the air was palpable as the two captains took their places on the grand arena stage. Representatives of the two most formidable forces in the nation stood face-to-face, their spiritual creatures arrayed before them.

Ezra Vauss, the captain of Dark Moon Academy, stood with a quiet confidence, his gaze piercing and focused. He summoned all six of his powerful blue-grade spiritual creatures for the first time in the tournament.

At the center of the formation was the Void Lynx—Ezra's first-ever contract.

With the ability to teleport, hide within the void, and redirect attacks, it was an expert at altering the flow of combat.

While not offensively dominant, its agility and tactical capabilities were key to Ezra's strategy. It could move away and redirect all attacks, making it a deadly support asset on the battlefield.

Just behind it was a ginormous snake, despite being coiled up, its body took up a large portion of the field and its shimmering scales glimmered like a living constellation. —the Magnimorph Snake.

This creature was a true terror in both offense and defense. Able to adjust its size at will, the Magnimorph Snake could ensnare creatures of all sizes, while its fangs, capable of ripping apart the fabric of space itself, made any defense seem useless.

To the right of the Lynx at the front, was Ezra's third contract—the Voidrake. A small, draconic creature whose abilities were far more dangerous than its size suggested.

The Voidrake had the terrifying power to tear holes in space itself, creating small, black-hole-like effects that could devour weaker spiritual creatures with ease. Its claws were capable of ignoring any defensive measures, cutting through barriers like a blade through paper.

To the left of the Lynx was Distortdjinn— Semi-transparent humanoid that seemed to shift and twist in the light, its eyes shimmering with silver and azure hues.

It has powerful space-shifting abilities, and its teleportation and space-altering powers would likely play a pivotal role in turning the tide of the battle against Cassian.

Next to it was Ezra's fifth contract, an extremely rare creature that has the legendary taotie bloodline.

It was a terrifying creature with a face with features that were a mix of both a tiger and a dragon.

Its face had large bulging eyes, and a gaping mouth filled with large fangs and tusks.

The rest of its body was muscular and covered in a thick fur, while its powerful legs ended with incredibly large claws. It had a long, serpentine-like tail tipped with a sharp spike.

The final contract next to the Voidrake, was Ezra's newest contract—the Gravitoise. It is a colossal tortoise with a massive stone-like shell that seemed to have its appearance distorted by heat waves. However, the distortions were really due to warping the gravity around it passively.

It could manipulate the earth and create gravitational fields capable of crushing or repelling enemies.

However, Cassian actually only summoned 4 contracts. Immediately the audience broke out into shocked discussions that in the finals, against such a tough opponent, he was only summoning 4 spiritual creatures.

Is he overconfident? Looking down on Ezra? Or was he unable to find two more creatures that could meet the requirements of his affinity and his assuredly high standards?

Kain's gaze was immediately drawn to the dragon that had just come up in their conversations—a dream dragon.

It was a shimmering, translucent entity whose scales shift in colour and texture, sometimes resembling the soft glow of moonlight, other times a kaleidoscope of vibrant, shifting hues.

Its wings were delicate and gossamer, often appearing as if woven from the very fabric of the night sky—faint stars stretching across their span.

Its eyes were perhaps its most captivating feature—wide, luminous, and swirling with visions. These eyes seem to pierce through the veil of the mind, reflecting the true nature of those who gaze into them. Any weaker creature that made eye contact would probably be drawn into a dream world.

Next to it was what appeared to be its dark and evil counterpart—A Nightmare Dragon.

'I wonder if Seraphina Mindshade caught both or only one of them for him?'

The Nightmare Dragon radiated an evil aura, its form dark and imposing, with scales that gleamed like black obsidian, its form forged from shadows and darkness, as though it were a living embodiment of terror itself.

Massive, bat-like wings stretch out with an ominous, leathery texture, covered in jagged spines that glisten like shards of broken glass.

Its eyes burn with a malevolent, fiery glow, casting an eerie crimson light that sends a chill down the spine of anyone who dares to look into them.

Next to the Dream dragon was a shining being of pure light, its scales radiant and golden, like molten gold reflecting the sun's fiery brilliance—a Solar Dragon.

'Hmm…another dragon that is rumoured to have the Divine Dragon bloodline…'

The solar dragon was a rare spiritual creature with 3 attributes: light, fire, and star-attributes.

The final dragon was one that Kain had never heard of previously.

Its form was like shimmering wisp or mist. Its scales having the appearance of stardust, sparkling in shifting, iridescent colors, while its wings, light as air and barely visible, seem to be woven from the very fabric of outer space.

Cassian stood calmly, not a trace of worry in his posture despite the apparent numerical disadvantage. His gaze, locked on Ezra, was unwavering, as though he expected nothing less than victory.

Cassian's dragon all took to the skies, seeking to use a height advantage against their opponents.

However, the massive Magnimorph Snake that already dwarfed everything else on the field, expanded its body even further, then swiftly took a bite at the unknown dragon in the sky.

The dragon didn't even bother to dodge, turning completely transparent—and apparently incorporeal. Its shimmering, iridescent form flickered like a mirage, before reappearing high above the battlefield.

The snake's head went right through it and its massive jaws closed on nothing but air.
