Chapter 59: Nature Rule (2)
Chapter 59: Nature Rule (2)
Lucas, accompanied by two of his men and Shawn, welcomed the Platinum Hunter party.
After getting close and facing Ian, Lucas stretched his hand forward, trying to give a warm handshake.
But Ian didn't seem interested in getting into contact with Lucas.
"From the reports I received, Big Update happened on the Floor where these weak people are. But after arriving here, the monster that said to be a walking Father Tree has been defeated?" asked Ian intimidatingly.
"Y - yeah, that's true. It was really difficult, but we managed to bring down this gigantic monster somehow."
Ian gave the impression that you would feel cornered if you faced him. And that is how Lucas feels.
Not responding, Ian suddenly burst out laughing. His men laughed too. Makes Lucas wonder and has to hold back annoyance.
"Why you fking lying? This monster appeared because of Catastrophe, right?"
Ian pointed to the destroyed areas of Giant Leaf Woods caused by Evolved Father Tree's attack.
"Even though this is Floor 1, Catastrophe is still Catastrophe. And you want to say, a bunch of weak people like you guys conquered that Catastrophe?!"
Lucas stuttered. "Y - yeah, it might be hard to believe, but that's how it is." He didn't want to admit that there was a cocky figure who saved them.
While Lucas kept refusing, Ian didn't want to make it too big.
Ian drew closer to Lucas. "My friend, how about we move away a little to talk four eyes?" Patted Lucas on the back, then led the Gold Hunter away a little.
'Ah, shit, here we go again', Lucas thought, unable to refuse the invitation.
Shawn being left alone for a moment. Facing a group full of Gold Hunters, he put on a friendly face. "Hey!" then greet those elite people.
After a little distance, Ian began his scheming.
"Lucas, I won't mind who or how this Catastrophe can be defeated. But honestly, I got a little disappointed that I brought my party here. My party must be disappointed too because we came here to help you. But unfortunately our efforts were in vain, and there is nothing we can do now."
Therein lies the situation that Lucas hates.
"Because of that, I want to ask for your kindness as a fellow Hunter. I'm not asking for much, only 1k cash per member, let's just say it is a tired fare for us to come here, how is it?"
"1k Cash per member?"
Lucas glanced at Ian's group, which consisted of about 25 people. So the total Lucas has to pay is 25k, 26k if Ian counts as well.
"It's not that hard, right? Besides, if you really do conquer this Catastrophe, the money you get definitely is 4x more than the total I asked for."
That's right, if the Greedy Young Master didn't take all their money.
A world where the Strong Ruled, Lucas couldn't refuse that request, or else Lucas would get humiliated right there if he refused. .
But how? The money they would get from the remains of the Evolved Father Tree's corpse wouldn't be enough to pay for all of that. Lucas also didn't want to put his money into paying for their asses that didn't do any shit.
For that, he must do a diversion, so he can think of another plan.
"H-hey, by the way, you must be tired, right? Why don't you just relax and enjoy the BBQ that we are having?"
Ian immediately understood that Lucas didn't want to pay them. So he left the conversation for a moment, then faced the corpse of the Evolved Father Tree.
An idea popped into his mind. "How about you give me this old man's corpse instead?"
"No!" Lucas said something he didn't have to say. "Ah, shit."
Even though he intended to sell all the harvest from the Evolved Father Tree's corpses to pay them, but now he's messed it up.
Ian turned around and immediately lifted Lucas off the collar with his right hand.
"Are you saying you don't want to repay us after coming here?" asked Ian intimidatingly.
"No-no, that's not it!"
Whatever Lucas said wouldn't work to calm Ian down.
"Hey, what you guys doing there folks?!"
Suddenly a voice asked them. The voice came from above the Evolved Father Tree's corpse, and the man immediately descended to take a look at the situation.
"Sir Jeff!"
Jeff's arrival gave Lucas a glimmer of hope.
The appearance of the Legend Hunter also shocked everyone on location.
Ian released his grip on Lucas, then faced the Legend Hunter.
"Isn't this the Silver Warhammer? What brought you here?" asked Jeff.
Jeff is just the badass version of Lucas. Though he owns the entire woods, that doesn't mean Ian would become nice and back off.
"Why are you here?" asked Ian back.
"You answer me first, you piece of shit. Then I'll answer yours."
In front of Jeff the Forest Ranger, Ian won't feel minor. Instead, he was thinking about the percentage of victory if he fought that Legend Hunter.
"What's the matter, Jeff?"
Apparently there is another person on top of the Evolved Father Tree's corpse.
"Not a big problem! Only big babies try to act big!" replied Jeff.
Shawn immediately recognized who Jeff was talking to. "Sir Hwang!" He immediately sped up to meet his master.
"Hwang the Firestorm Archer?" muttered Ian curiously. He didn't expect that there were two Legend Hunters on the scene.
Ian's Combat Power is 20k, the same as Jeff now. Then the number of Combat Power in his group was the same as him, 20k. But for Hwang the Firestorm Archer, that blind Legend Hunter has a Combat Power of 25k. Which means Ian and his group will find it difficult to win the battle with the two Legend Hunters.
Ian let out a disappointed sigh. Then turn around and back away. Before actually leaving, he gave a message to Lucas.
"I'm looking forward to that BBQ party at the Site of Memorial tonight, Lucas."
Ian pulled his group away from the location.
After the big problem had gone, Lucas fell on the ground, relieved. "Fck him. Thank you, Sir Jeff."
Jeff looked down at his former student in disappointment. "You useless. That's why you can't get stronger. You always look down on those who are stronger than you."
"Whatever, just go ahead and scold me. I don't care anymore. I just want to live peacefully, that's all."
Sometime before the conflict with Ian ended.
"Sir Hwang!"
Shawn climbs onto Evolved Father Tree's corpse and finds his Master seated. Surprisingly, Hwang is not alone.
"Hey, Shawn, it's been a while since I saw you. Though I can't see."
Shawn got delighted to see his Master again. However, the figure who is with his Master made him wonder.
"You already met him earlier, right? He is also my student, your junior."
"What?"
Shawn glared in disbelief. The great man who is sitting holding something is also the Firestorm Archer's disciple?
[Proof Conquest of Woods of Giant Leaf Medal]
A token as big as a palm. In the form of a Giant Leaf Tree, surrounded by unique ornaments.
Ars finally obtained an SSR rarity item which could no longer be found on the 1st Floor or 2nd Floor. Although he disappointed, he couldn't get it directly by himself.
"If this is in another story, they will place the main character in a secret dungeon that only he will conquer. And the main character will get all the shit from the dungeon and get rich."
Too bad that won't happen to you.
"Ok-ok, got it." Ars raised the token above the sky, then thought, "Greedy Dragon Family might be a good name."
