Urban Super Almighty Student

Chapter 47

C47 – Who Are You Scolding?

When Zhang Lan got a clear look at Ye Hao, she was even more convinced that he was the same Ye Hao who had made headlines two months earlier. “I’m the runner-up from Weyphia City, Zhang Lan.”

Ye Hao suddenly realized why Zhang Lan’s name had rung a bell. He remembered a classmate mentioning her name before.

“I’m Ye Hao from Weyphia City.” He nodded to Zhang Lan and briefly introduced himself before stepping down from the podium, leaving the audience in a state of surprise.

“That name sounds familiar.”

“I thought I recognized that name.”

“So, he’s the Ye Hao.”

“He’s the Ye Hao who caused such a stir two months ago?”

“Is he the whiz kid who aced the Moplauso exam without even passing the English section?”

At that point, the students in the class recalled who Ye Hao was. They stood up, one by one, to get a better look at him.

“Please, take your seats,” Leng Xue commanded, tapping the desk. “Zhang Lan, introduce yourself.”

Taking a deep breath to steady herself, Zhang Lan approached the podium.

“I’m Zhang Lan from Weyphia City. I enjoy morning jogs.” After speaking for half a minute, she stepped down from the podium.

Then, each student took a turn introducing themselves.

“Now, you should all have some insight into who your classmates are,” Leng Xue announced, clapping her hands. “If you’d like to get to know each other better, join this group chat.”

Leng Xue then wrote the number for the class’s online discussion group on the blackboard.

“Additionally, I’ll be posting details about class activities in the group.”

Ye Hao had just joined the group when his phone chimed with a notification. He checked his phone and saw that he had been made an administrator of the class group chat.

Zhang Lan had been appointed as an administrator as well.

“Miss Leng, I’d like to be an administrator too.”

“Gorgeous, could I be an administrator as well?”

Leng Xue ignored these requests from the students.

As Ye Hao was about to put his phone away, it chimed again.

It was a friend request from Zhang Lan.

Since they were classmates and from the same city, Ye Hao felt it would be impolite to decline Zhang Lan’s request.

Moreover, why would Ye Hao turn down a beautiful woman?

After accepting the friend request, Zhang Lan sent him a message.

“You’re too slow. I’m giving you a bad review.”

Ye Hao chuckled and switched off his phone.

Zhang Lan waited with her phone for a while, but Ye Hao never replied. She turned to look in Ye Hao’s direction and saw that he was deep in conversation with Yuan Gaoxing and two others.

“He dares to ignore me?” Zhang Lan muttered, irked.

“Who’s got my baby all worked up?” Bai Hehua asked sweetly upon seeing Zhang Lan’s frustration.

“That jerk Ye Hao,” Zhang Lan responded.

“You know Ye Hao?”

“I didn’t before, but I do now.”

“What happened?”

“I messaged him, and he didn’t even bother to reply.”

“Someone like that exists? I’ll set him straight for you.” Bai Hehua said as she took out her phone, intent on adding Ye Hao as a friend.

To Bai Hehua’s astonishment, Ye Hao completely disregarded her.

Feeling slighted, she persistently sent friend requests to Ye Hao.

Ye Hao had heard the first notification but didn’t pay it any mind. What he hadn’t anticipated was the continuous ringing of his phone.

What’s going on?

Checking his phone, Ye Hao discovered the incessant notifications were all from Bai Hehua.

Through a temporary chat, Ye Hao messaged her, “Do you need something?”

Bai Hehua was bewildered by the temporary chat. “Babe, Ye Hao is such an oddball.”

“What’s wrong?” Zhang Lan glanced at Bai Hehua’s phone, confused, and immediately noticed the temporary chat.

The temporary chat indicated that Ye Hao had no intention of adding Bai Hehua as a friend, as the option would disappear once they connected.

“Why won’t you add me as an online friend?” Bai Hehua messaged, clearly annoyed.

“I don’t know you well enough,” Ye Hao replied. He wouldn’t have minded adding Bai Hehua, but Zheng Xiaolong had previously expressed interest in pursuing her, so Ye Hao preferred to keep his distance.

“Damn it!”

“So rude.” Ye Hao knew Bai Hehua was just ribbing him, but he genuinely wanted to avoid further contact, so after sending that message, he blocked her.

“Ye Hao, who are you calling disrespectful?” Bai Hehua stood up abruptly, pointing at Ye Hao as she angrily accused him.

The entire class was stunned, then all eyes turned to Ye Hao.

Ye Hao hadn’t expected Bai Hehua, who appeared so adorable, to have such a fiery temper.

“Ye Hao, what have you done to Bai Hehua?” Leng Xue, who had been chatting with the students in the front row, turned to Ye Hao and demanded.

Ye Hao glanced at Leng Xue with dissatisfaction.

He thought to himself, “That question sounds loaded. What does she mean by asking what I did to Bai Hehua?”

“She’s making fun of me,” Ye Hao said with a wry smile.

“Don’t you realize it was just a tease?” Bai Hehua asked, looking hurt.

“And don’t you realize I was teasing you, too?” Ye Hao felt equally aggrieved.

“Then why did you block me?” Bai Hehua demanded, locking eyes with Ye Hao.

The classmates were speechless.

They had been frantically trying to add Bai Hehua on QQ, but to no avail. Why had Ye Hao gone out of his way to block Bai Hehua?

“I told you, we’re not close,” Ye Hao said, loathing the sensation of being on display. “If you’re bored, go find something to do.”

Before Bai Hehua could respond, Zhang Lan, who was beside her, took hold of her.

“Aren’t you concerned about preserving your ladylike image?” Zhang Lan murmured.

Suddenly, Bai Hehua realized her recent behavior was anything but ladylike. She quickly sat down, her face ashen, and lamented, “My reputation is completely ruined.”

Zhang Lan couldn’t help but giggle behind her hand.

“Are you really making fun of me? If it weren’t for you, would Ye Hao have embarrassed me?” Bai Hehua gave Zhang Lan a twist.

Zhang Lan pleaded, “Ye Hao only blocked you. How does that translate to humiliation?”

“I don’t care. I must give him a lesson,” Bai Hehua huffed.

Everyone enjoys making comparisons.

Online, Ye Hao accepted Zhang Lan’s friend request but rejected Bai Hehua’s. Even without a response from Ye Hao, Zhang Lan’s irritation had faded.

“In a moment, head to the logistics department with your student IDs to collect your military uniforms. Starting tomorrow, you’ll embark on a month of military training. If any of you earn the military training emblem, I’ll award you extra credit.”

“Perhaps you’re not yet familiar with the graduation system at Riverdale College,” Leng Xue began, casting her eyes over the crowd. “To earn your degree from Riverdale College, you must accumulate 200 credits over four years. That means you need to secure 50 credits annually.”

“Each year, you’ll tackle ten subjects, with five being compulsory. The remaining five are electives of your choice.”

“For each subject, earning a score above 60 will grant you two credits. Achieving over 70 earns you three credits, over 80 results in four credits, and surpassing 90 points gets you five credits. And for those who manage to score a perfect 100, you’ll be awarded six credits.”
