Chapter 460
Chapter 460
"Qin Feng, are you scared of Keith Demiliore?"
As soon as the car stopped outside the mansion, Wang Sisi turned to look at her husband and asked.
"No." The Child of Destiny shook his head, frowning.
"Then why were you so restrained in front of him?" She begrudgingly asked. "You were acting high and mighty before my family, but in front of him..."
"Shut up." He cut her off, and Sisi tensed up when his cold eyes bore into her. "Don't think I did not see you trying to cause problems to them today. You are an embarrassment for how low you behaved."
"She hates me! Feifei has always looked at me like I was some filth, and you expect me to bear with it? I hate her too!" She fumed.
"There's a time and place for everything!" He growled, and the coldness in her eyes really started to weigh on her heart.
"You told me and my family that you are the best man in the world and it was our great fortune that you chose to marry me, Qin Feng." She gritted her teeth as she held back her tears. "Today, I only saw a man who was too scared to stand up for his wife."
"Stand up for what? None of them even said anything to you." He narrowed his eyes and watched her tears spill out.
"I just wanted to show her that I had found a better man than she had..." She lowered her head, meekly whispering, and Qin Feng froze at her words. Was he better than Keith? It was a question that had been looming on his mind ever since the day he had witnessed the battle between the Lord of Darkness and Azdaar.
Valerie had later told him that Keith had not even seemed to care about the battle and how sure and carefree he had been before it. And he had come out unscathed from that fight.
What was he better than Keith at?
Money? The Demiliore clearly had more of it.
Power and Influence? Keith edged him in those terms too.
Strength? He could never be sure about it. No one knew exactly how strong the Inheritor of Erebus was.
Qin Feng started feeling uneasy in his heart again as he thought about these things. He could not find a single thing where he was better than Keith, and though his pride would never allow him to admit it, the truth was that he was scared.
"Go, get some rest." He gently told the girl, who surprisedly looked at him. "I need to go and meet someone and will be a little late."
"Where are you going?"
"To meet the members of the Qin Family." He told her, and she obediently nodded to him before getting out of the car.
"I will be waiting."
Qin Feng nodded to her with a smile before he drove off towards the Hotel where he knew that Roulan and the four Elites of the Qin Family were staying.
Sisi watched the car leave, and as soon as it exited the gate, her expression hardened and she wiped off her tears.
Some more tears welled up in her eyes, but she bravely held them back as she entered the house.
She hated how her life had turned out in the last few days, and she cursed her despicable friends who took her to that bar. If she had refused them, she would have never fallen into the hands of this scum.
Yes, she considered Qin Feng a scum who had taken advantage of her. He had raped her!
But more than him, she now hated her family who had sold her to this rapist instead of taking her side.
She was used as a chip to tie him, and she did not know what those people saw in Qin Feng.
In her eyes, he was just a boastful person, and even if he was special, he was not as special as the man she had set her eyes on. And what happened today was the proof of that.
She had not missed Keith handing Jin the case that contained that beautiful pendant, and she was not envious of Baobao for having that pendant. She was envious of Feifei for having a man like Keith by her side.
Why was she always better than her? Why did she always have to lose to Feifei?
The anger bubbled up in her heart and then Qin Feng's face appeared in her mind again. He was scum even if she would never dare to tell him that to his face, and she mockingly laughed in her heart as she recalled that hazy night.
In her dazed state, when he had taken her innocence, it was not his face that she had on her mind. The one that had been on her mind was the most perfect man she had ever laid eyes on. And she wondered what Qin Feng would feel like she if ever told him that.
However, soon her heart ached again and a few more tears slipped out of her eyes.
She was not someone who could forget and forgive. And she was not going to forget the harm Qin Feng caused her, how he shattered all her dreams.
But for now, she was just going to bide her time.
Oblivious to the grudges his wife held against him, Qin Feng arrived at the Royal Inn.
He asked the receptionist to inform the Qin Family that he was there to see them, and after delivering his message to one of the Four Elites, the lady led him to the cafe where she requested him to wait.
Qin Feng frowned when even after waiting for half an hour, Qin Roulan did not show up, but the Four Elites had all arrived and were sitting at the tables around him.
He knew that these four members of the Clan were, in truth, Qin Roulan's bodyguards and all four of them were men at the Peak of Spirit Profound Realm.
"Where's she?" He lightly asked, and the one who was sitting next to his table apologetically smiled at him.
"She will be here soon, Lord Hades." The man told him and returned to sipping his tea.
Had it been anyone else who disrespected him like this, Qin Feng would have made them pay for it immediately, but he knew very well that he could not act against the Elites of the Clan, especially when they were protecting their Princess.
He did not want to test the patience of Qin Zhijian, who was believed to be the strongest Mortal God in the world.
Holding back his urge to just get up and leave, he stayed seated in his chair and vowed in his heart to teach this woman a lesson in the future when she would belong to him.
To his frustration, he had to wait another half an hour before Roulan finally entered the cafe.
"Lord Hades," She politely said and then without waiting for him to speak, took her seat across him. "What brings you here?" She straightforwardly asked.
"You tried to set me up." He narrowed his eyes at her.
"And when did I do that?" She lightly smiled.
"You did not tell me that one of the gifts belonged to Keith Demiliore." He coldly said.
"You never asked who the gift was for. You just told us to hand it over to you." He smiled some more. "And did I not tell you that Qin Rouxi was your cousin? You should have been able to figure out that the gift we were unwilling to hand over to you was likely meant for someone more special than you."
His brows furrowed at her last sentence, and his heart grew colder.
"He's more special than your kin?"
"Is he not?" She raised her brow. "You are a Mortal God. Aren't you? Do I need to remind you of the Hierarchy of Gods, Qin Feng?" She smiled. "You belong to the same Pantheon as him. He is your superior and someone you are obliged to show respect."
Qin Feng frowned at her words, feeling more unwell in his heart. And this time, his pride had taken a hit.
"We are both Mortal Gods, and he is no superior of mine." He told her and watched her brightly smile at him.
"You are in denial, Qin Feng." She said. "And this denial could lead to your downfall. A Mortal God who does not respect the Hierarchy, especially the one of his Pantheon, is only harming himself."
"You are not a Mortal God, so, maybe you don't know this, but holding a legacy does not mean that you are the very God whose legacy you have inherited. Hades was inferior to Erebus, but I am not Hades, I am Qin Feng, and he is not Erebus, he is Keith Demiliore."
Roulan kept looking into his eyes, but the smile on her face did not cease.
"You are half wrong, Qin Feng. You are not Hades, yes, but he is Erebus. He is a True Inheritor, after all." She told him. "The Divine Laws would not pick someone as the True Inheritor of a legacy unless they possessed the potential of reaching Godhood."
"But that does not mean that I am not as talented as him. I might very well be more talented than him." He retorted.
"Perhaps. But do you really believe that you are more talented than him?"
"Yes."
"And would you dare say these words to his face?"
Qin Feng raged in his heart at those words. He was not here to talk about Keith, but this woman just refused to drop the topic.
"Do you think I am afraid of him?"
"Yes, you are, and you should be if you are smart enough to understand how dangerous he is." She nodded her head.
"I am not scared of him." He told her and frowned when he heard her mockingly laugh at his words.
"And yet the first words you said to me were a complaint that I tried to set you up against him." She shook her head in disappointment and smiled when his eyes grew colder. "Have a good night."
"Wait." He stopped her when she was about to get up, and then he leaned back in his seat and a little. "Is there a misunderstanding between us?" He asked. "I feel like you are deliberately trying to get under my skin."
"Trying?" She smiled, and he helplessly shook his head.
"You are well aware that he and I are not really on good terms, and you are deliberately comparing me to him." He said, but before she could take another jab at him, he continued. "I came here to discuss something else today."
"Oh?" She curiously raised her brow at him, and Qin Feng looked right into her pink eyes.
"I am going to ask your father for your hand in marriage when I return to Qin Sect."
He smiled at the surprise in her eyes.
"I want to marry you."
"I am afraid you will never be able to realise your wish." She smiled, shaking her head. "I am spoken for, and even if I was not, I refuse to marry you."
"Who?" Qin Feng had a very bad premonition in his heart as soon as he heard her words.
Who was the Qin Princess engaged to?
"I am to marry Lord Erebus, and my father has approved of it." She told him with a smile, amused at the ugly expression that crawled up on his face.
"Since when?"
"Since today."
"And you agree to it?" He asked, clenching his fist.
"I have no reason to refuse." She honestly replied.
"Even if I promise to make you my Main Wife?"
"I would rather be his Concubine than your Main Wife, Qin Feng. Unlike you, I am not blind to the truth." She stood up. "Have a good night."
