Chapter 519: The scarlet woman i

TWO MONTHS AFTER THE HORN WAS SOUNDED

SHADOWLANDS

IATHUS KINGDOM

The woman was clearly in nervous as even the tea could not calm her. The woman possesses blue hair which is quite unique and odd in this part of the world.

But her face was the epitome of beauty; one could not help but praise of her beauty once they see her.

She proves true the poem that is famous in Arakath and Human Continent "Arianna possessed Kings and Emperors, Rhyssa shames the Yellow Sun.

Which is why she wears a veil for her beauty was too distracting for men eyes.

This beautiful woman with long blue hair and beautiful green eyes is Rhyssa Renasi, the empress of the Great Renasian Empire.

But not here. Not here in the Shadowlands.

Rhyssa was sitting in her tents, sipping tea made in the Iathus kingdoms known as Lotus Scent Tea.

Her forehead is creased and her eyes closed, her subjects kneeling down on the floor of the Hall waiting for her orders.

She is thinking hard on what to do next. 

After the migration of the Thirteen Tribes, Rhyssa went to the Wall of Repentance expecting to see Arial amongst the sea of people but what she found out, she was the first to arrive. 

She chuckles to herself as she remembers why she came here. 

Usually, it would be the man chasing the woman running away from the wedding. Who would have thought that when it came to her, the reverse is true?

Rhyssa don't think there is anything wrong with liking a person more, with loving them more.

She won't wait for love to come to her. That fluttering feelings.is still there in her heart. Rhyssa is actually a maiden in love and Arial was always in her heart.

Just by this we could all see how merciless and cruel love is towards Rhyssa and Arial. 

If they did not pass each other and tied their destiny together or both of them make a different choice they may end up on each other arms and Arial would not be the cold man he is today, and Rhyssa wouldn't be a lovelorn woman she is now.

It is true what people say. Love is all about the timing

She thought Arial would eventually enter the Shadowlands since that is the only safe place in Novus Gaia right now so she decided to wait for him inside.

Of course fate intervenes again. 

What she didn't know was that while she enters the South part of the Wall, Arial is entering the Northern Part of the Wall which means Arial will arrive at Vernium Kingdom

Once again destiny makes fools of them

She and her band of people enter the Kingdoms and take residence in the Capital City Iathus after coming out of the forest.

The Darkly Thing spawns around the city almost every day and Rhyssa the valorous woman she is take charge and saved the tribes people behind her which responded to her act by joining her band.

Slowly her bands of people become larger as the people that passes the Wall and ended up in Iathus would usually be rescued by Rhyssa people.

But at that time Rhysa does not possess any true influence upon the larger city at least until one of the Prince of Iathus was attacked during one of the Darkly Things infestation.

Rhyssa rides her warhorse and threw her spear at the Darkly Thing that wanted to eat the Prince, thus gaining her fame.

She gained the favor of that Prince and was given a title and a residence. She was titled the Scarlet General.

But a month ago, there were many other tribes that enter from the Gate and someone incited rebellion in one of the cities of Iathus Kingdom.

An edict called upon everyone to fight against the rebel and that included Rhyssa. 

Rhyssa didn't want to interfere with the political matters of the Three Kingdoms of Shadowlands and was perfectly content fighting the Darkly Things.

But the Royal Commanders of Iathus has already marched against the rebel. And she was also summoned.

At first Rhyssa wanted to defy the royal order. After all she himself was a royalty of the highest level. 

Of course here, her titles meant nothing. This is not the Human Continent where she controls all of the Great Renasian Empire.

But she already knew that this is what will happen if she steps on Novus Gaia so she was prepared to lose her titles.

For some reason, Rhyssa always felt that she was called to this land. But she was not afraid of defying the royal order of this Kingdom

She could always run to other Kingdoms and start anew. 

With her martial skill and her talents of leading armies, people who appreciate talents would always seek for her.

But when she wanted to defy the order she heard that the rebels killed everybody they met and this does not sit well with Rhyssa righteous conduct.

Rhyssa was not a woman who is squeamish around blood, but she was also not a heartless person that would execute children and elderly.

The rebel was led by a Nasranian man called Nasrath. He tried to take over Dorsea on the south of Iathus.

This is where it becomes a problem for Rhyssa as her solutions for avoiding battles is not applicable. 

Rhyssa when the King of Iathus began summoning his general, Rhyssa ask the King to give her a post in Dorsea where Rhyssa believes there would be no battle there for the time being.

Who would have thought that the rebels would charge straight at her and at the same time angering her?

Her generals are all waiting for her orders. Rhyssa put down the tea cup on its holder and then she said

'The rebels are huge in number while we are not. Enlist troops.' She said curtly but her voice was full of force.

Her generals agreed and they quickly put up notice all across Iathus calling for volunteers to serve against the rebels of Iathus.

Rhyssa then got up from her seat and went to the war room discussing war plans.

But even then, after almost two weeks she found out she could not muster an army that would be large enough to rival that of the rebels so instead she focused on the quality of her army, emphasizing training and strategic planning.

She draws many maps, scouting the territories around Dorsea, noted places of importance, rivers, hills and forest.

Louise, her most trusted commander accompanied her in her many battles and was called the Golden Shield since he was always beside Rhyssa following her in the thick of battle, like an eternal protector.

It was then that the horn of battle was sounded as the soldiers on the walls saw the approaching army of the rebels riding their warhorses coming to invade

'Invaders! Invaders!' the messenger yelled which fills the heart of the people inside the walled city with fear.

But Rhyssa smiles and she said

'The Gods have prepared a great feast for us, men.' And her troop's cheers fill the Walls of the city.

Rhyssa was always a brilliant military commander more so than her being a ruler. She donned her Sun Armor, take her weapon and she yelled 

'HYARRGG!' And her men followed

Jumping into her horse, she rides into battle with a shining spear made by one of the weapon smith of Iathus. 

Behind her, the dust of the soil rises up as the armored cavalry fly forth, bursting with killing intent, their eyes were like starving wolf.

'Wait for me, Rhyssa!' Louise said as he jumps into his horse and rides behind her, his sword unsheathed, his horse galloping as freely like it was riding on the plains.

The wind of the battlefield blew hard at him. It was painful like sword wounds on his face. Not only did the wind tear at his face, it tore at his heart.

Because he knows why Rhyssa stay here. A man. that is not him. But still, he wanted to protect her. 

Wanted to be near her.

In the hopes, one day, she might spare him a glance. 

'Love.is such a cruel emotion' he said to himself as his horse keep riding forward, riding behind her.
