Chapter 574: The wall and the gate

Chapter 574: The wall and the gate

Those who believe, those who kept their faith steadfast all of these years would be rewarded.

It is only in the New World that Gods and deities still have these kind of powers to affect the world.

The last bastion of the Gods.

This are not empty title. As she thought of this she suddenly saw in the distance a white hart.

And her smile becomes wider.

The distance is not quite close but also not quite far.

None of the people in the caravan notices that space contorted and distorted and that someone appears on the other side of the tree.

Because of how large the tree and how thick its body, no one managed to see that suddenly there is a group of people that appears like some kind of divine miracle.

'Ah, he is here. A child of great destiny' she mutters to herself.

Like the wind itself, her words bring breezy and cooling wind around the area.

Aegir and his tribe has arrived.

this is the miracle that she had promised.

In the span of a few hours, a journey that should bring many calamities, that should take months has been shortened into a few hours.

From the Tree Rings of the Arakian forest, to the front gate of the Wall of Repentance, one would never believe such stories.

Such thing only happens during the Age of the Gods where there is great magister that master the Laws of the world and could travel the distance of ten thousand miles in a span of a few minutes.

She looks toward Aegir.

In the distance, Aegir and his people look at their surrounding and they were shocked

'Where are we?' He said to himself.

Aegir did not forget what happened. When he followed the White Hart in that Darkness, he did not feel tired and he did not feel afraid.

There was a trail when he follows the White Hart. The trail is like he was inside some tunnels of cave.

Shining in that cold dark cave and bring warmth and light is the White Hart

The glow of the White Hart seems to protect him and his people from danger and evil influences.

When the White hart gallops, they would run after it and follow it. Aegir was in the front and his tribespeople follow him.

Like he was stepping on stars. That is the feeling he felt when he was following the White Hart

It was like the ground was the sky and the traces of the steps of the White Hart is the stars. He steps onto stars and sail across the sky

Such feeling is hard to describe. Maybe, he is the only one feeling like that, he thought to himself.

The White Hart gives him a sense of safety, like he is wrapped around some warm blanket made of cotton.

That is his feeling. Like he is among family

And while they could not see their left and right because of the thick dark smoke, and they could not see the path behind them, they keep their faith and they keep running forward

They felt that they were running just for a few minutes.

But when the white hart stops and they too halted their steps, the surrounding around them changed.

It was like someone rip the scenery of the dark forest and the dark night and replace it with the painting of the scenery of the dawn

Such feeling made everyone felt disconcerted and made them feel like they are in some kind of illusions

Aegir calms his heart down.

'Nothing is impossible' he reminded himself.

When deities are involved, nothing is impossible.

Aegir look at the sky in the distance and he could see that the sun is about to go up.

And then he saw around him and he did not see the expected forest.

instead what is around him a large clearing. There is green grass tall and full of life. There are colorful flower fields on the side of the dirt road.

The shy sun shows its face partially as its light seems to enhance the beauty of this scenery of abundant life.

The fragrance of the flowers as it blooms enter his nose and Aegir could not have seen more beautiful sight to welcome him after last night ordeal.

He almost tears up, like he had now found a safe place after having to keep it together.

How could the world still be so beautiful, this is his thought?

The flowers blooming, birds flying in the sky and chirping as they fly together with their companions, the grass that sways left and right with droplets of water streaming down among the tall ones among them.

There is no Darkness, and only light.

One could not know the relief he felt and one could not understand the tension that released from his body now that he arrived at such a place.

For a moment, he even thought he had gone to the Blessed Lands.

This dichotomy of feeling where he could not know how to reconcile the desire to appreciate the beauty of life in front of him and the death of his people just a few hours ago made him speechless and still for a few second.

There is this feeling of peace and then he saw a tree in the distance. He was taken aback when he saw it that he took one step backward

How could this be! He mutters to himself.

The tree is large and tall and glowing with silver light. It is mystical and imposing, it is warm and it repels all darkness.

Even when he is not in front of that tree, the holiness of that tree seems to emanates all around the area.

And he utters in shock

'The Godstree! By the Gods!'

The moment he said it, his people also turns toward the direction of the tree and they too saw it

They widened their eyes in disbelief.

They all believe that they have encountered some miracles and they prostrated to the ground.

Those who could not prostrate close their eyes and speak of their gratitude.

Aegir prostrated himself toward the tree. He did not worship the tree. But he worships the one who give the tree power.

Then he got up and he walk forward toward the Tree.

And then he saw an even more shocking sight.

He saw people.

Tens of thousands of people riding caravans, riding beast and horses. A line that seems to be endless, all of them going toward the tree and toward the Wall.

It was now he realizes where he is. There is the Tree, so there must be the Wall. He looks at the wall and he shook like he himself could not believe that he is here.

In one night, he had promised and fulfilled the wish of the elder to lead the people of his tribe to safety.

Just a few minutes ago, they were in dire danger of being killed, of having their tribe to be wiped out by the forces of Darkness.

Now, the sun is about to show its face and they were suddenly here in front of the Wall. This is undoubtedly a divine miracle.

A prayer to Asrana and the deity answer. Amara sends her familiar and he had led his people to safety.

One could not express the gratitude he is feeling in his heart.

'The White Hart is guiding me' Aegir could feel it deep in his heart.

Like an instinct.

He walked to the Wall. Behind him, the people of his tribe follow him. They now believe the prophecy of the Seer of their tribe.

Aegir is a man of a great destiny that would bring glory to the tribe,

Aegir stop a few feet away from that imposing Wall and he look up. He had to stretched his neck to look at the wall height

'Amazing' he thought to himself.

He is well versed in the lore. He knew that this Wall is called the Wall of Repentance. Some people called it the Crystal Wall because of its crystal gate

Whatever the name it is called it is without a doubt that this Wall is magical in nature.

'By the Gods and Asrana!' he muttered in his heart.

He saw the crystal transparent gate, shining like some beacon of light in the tunnel of darkness.

It is twenty feet in height and with the thickness of the same

No mortal weapon that existed now could break it and while twenty feet of gate is not a height that an army could not climb, there is magical winds rolling on the edge and surface of the topmost of the gate

Those who tried to climb would then be struck with this rolling wind on the top of the gates.

None then could forcefully climb the Walls once the gate is closed.

There is no force in heaven and Earth that would be able to climb this Wall unless it was destiny and fate guiding it
