Chapter 136: A friendly warning
"...What happened to me?" The man looked around; he held his head and turned to look at the woman who was standing beside him. "You—what happened, Rachel??"
"You fool! You idiot! This is why I asked you to wait, who told you to bring me out and provoke those three? You are lucky that we had a miraculous healer with us, or else I would have to prepare for your funeral!" Rachel was furious.
She had asked Dale to stop and not cause trouble with those three men. However, he refused to listen and said to her that he was not doing anything wrong. He was just treating her to a meal.
However, she knew that Dale wanted to provoke the three men.
All because he was defeated last night and was embarrassed.
"What–where are those three bastards?" Dale asked, looking confused and dizzy. He just fell unconscious. Why was Rachel acting like he really died? What did she mean by arranging his funeral?
"They ran away because you died, you idiot!" Rachel snapped as she pointed in the direction where those three men ran away. "You are fortunate that you are alive."
"Wh–What?" Dale looked at Rachel with a stunned look on his face. He was panting heavily, sweat dripping down his forehead and chin. "I–I died? When?"
"Just now!" The woman exclaimed agitatedly. "This gentleman here saved you, or else you would have never woken up. Even a healer could not have saved you." Her eyes turned red as she stated, "You stopped breathing."
The man was stumped when he heard that he stopped breathing, He turned to look at Damien, who nodded and said to him,
"I saved you just now," said Damien as he cleared up the confusion at once. "If I hadn't helped you, then you would have turned into a corpse by now."
He then looked at the man who seemed to be getting agitated and said to him, "You should stay calm for a while and don't move around too much. Lay back down on the ground and breathe properly."
The man did as Damien told him, and once he lay down, he felt much better than he did when he was sitting upright.
"S–o, you really did save me, Lord?" the man asked. "How did you do it?"
If he stopped breathing, how did this man bring him back to life?
"It's a simple process," Damien replied. "If CPR is used at the right time, there is a chance to rescue people who have fallen unconscious because of sudden shock."
Of course no one understood a thing that he said; if anything, they felt like what Damien was telling them was a language of another world.
"What are you—ah!" Dale gasped in pain as he raised his hand and pressed his hands against his forehead. "My—My head is hurting… , why is it hurting so much?"
The pain was so intense that he could not even breathe or think properly.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"This is why I asked you to calm down a little," Damien said to the man. "Your heart stopped beating just now, and when a person's heart stops beating, it's the brain that suffers the most damage."
Damien crouched down and placed his hand on the forehead of the man and glared at him before saying sternly, "Now it will be better if you stop moving or else you will die. Again. So just lie down quietly."
"W–What? Okay! Okay!" The man immediately turned quiet and stopped moving. Even though his head was hurting so much that it felt like it was splitting in half, he did not dare to move.
He stayed like that for quite a while before standing up and thanking Damien, "Thank you so much my lord. If you had not helped me then I would have died."
As he spoke, he took out a pouch filled with silver coins and handed it to Damien. "Please take this; take it as a small gift of gratitude for your lifesaving grace."
Damien looked at the pouch before taking a look at the clothes of the two people in front of him.
They were dressed in refined clothes, which showed that they were not poor.
Doesn't this mean that there was no need for him to feel guilty about taking their money?
"Are you sure about it?" Damien asked as he looked at the pouch that was filled with silver coins. "This seems to be a bit too much."
"Of course it's not," the man smiled and offered the pouch into Damien's hands. "You brought me back to life; if you had not helped me, I would have died. Thanks to you, my lord. I am still fine."
Seeing that the man was really grateful and honest, Damien did not refuse and took the money from him.

In return, he said to the man, "You should still go and check up with a healer."
Damien reminded the man in a soft voice, causing Dale to blink his eyes and look at the man in front of him in confusion.
Was there something wrong with him? The man thought.
There was a reason; Damien asked the man to go to a healer. He knew that if he was to say that this man had syphilis out loud, he would definitely become embarrassed and angry.
Not to mention, it was not a good thing.
Surely, the man would refuse to accept that such a thing was possible.
It was better for him to hear about his condition from a healer; at least that way this man would know what was truly going on with him.
Seeing that the man was confused, Damien raised his hand and patted him on the shoulder. "In case there is something that you can't solve, make sure to come to the Wolfe mansion."
Once he finished speaking, he turned on his feet and said to Wistoria, "Do you want to continue with the meal?"
While Damien had the mood to still, Dale's mood was completely ruined. He couldn't help but worry about Damien's warning and rushed to the temple with Rachel.
