Apocalypse Cheater

Chapter 230: A Change

[: 3rd POV :]

The incident that had occurred the past few days had left Sasha in a state of shock.

But, there was one thing for sure, she couldn't stop thinking about Daniel, and his kindness had left an impact on her.

As she stared blankly at her cup, her thoughts were filled with memories of him.

The way he had rescued her and his smile.

His warmth had melted the ice within her heart.

And the way his aura had captivated her.

"Sigh, what am I thinking? This isn't me, why would I think of a man I don't even know"

Sasha was confused by her own thoughts, and she couldn't understand why she was thinking about him.

Perhaps, the kindness he had shown her had affected her, and she wanted to find a way to repay him.

She also had a strong desire to meet him again, and the thought of seeing him made her heart flutter.

She couldn't understand what was happening, and she didn't know why she was feeling this way.

She had never felt like this before, and it was both strange and scary.

But, there was a part of her that wanted to find out more about him.

She couldn't help but wonder what kind of person he was, and why he had gone so far to save her.

"I'll repay you no matter what..." Sasha declared, and her eyes were filled with resolution.

Daniel, on the other hand, had no idea that his actions had impacted her so much.

He never thought that his kindness had affected her, and the fact that she was thinking of him.

But because of the alteration fate of what's set for Sasha, the future lies within her are uncertain.

Whether it's for the better or the worse, no one would know.

On the other hand, Sasha was in her deep thoughts.

She recalled every moment that happened before her.

How her family is suffering, how weak she was in front of the ranker and if Daniel never intercepted, she doesn't know what would happen to her.

''Perhaps, the outcome of it would be worse'' She muttered as she clenched the cup in frustration.

Sasha sat there in the cafe, staring into the abyss of her latte.

The whirlwind of emotions exploded within her, a mixture of gratitude, fear, and frustration.

She felt a burning desire for change, not just for herself but for the people she loved.

"I can't stay like this," she thought as she bit her lips.

There were even small droplets of tears forming in her eyes.

After all, the recent events had opened her eyes to the harsh realities of the world.

She couldn't bear the thought of her family suffering any longer, and she refused to continue any longer.

With a resolute expression, Sasha made a decision.

She couldn't change the past, but she could shape her future. Clutching her latte, she mumbled, "No more. I won't be weak anymore''

Perhaps, at this moment, the change she had was also one of the alterations that was caused by Daniel.

On the other hand, Daniel was smiling as the shadow soldier he placed under her shadow observed her.

'Good Sasha' He muttered in his mind and he was proud that she had made the decision to change.

''What's wrong?'' Cecilia questioned.

''Nothing, I just remembered something good'' Daniel replied.

Sasha found herself lost with the weight of her decision.

"But what should I do...? How could I change...?"

The idea of changing herself into a stronger person seemed like an impossible task.

After all, this was a territory she was unfamiliar with.

As she sat in the cafe, lost in her contemplation, a group of people passed by, drawing her attention.

Their attire was distinguishable, illustrated with armours that hinted at a different lifestyle.

At that moment, a spark of inspiration ignited within her.

She saw a guide among them, someone who seemed to be leading the way. "Perhaps...I could try that...?"

Sasha questioned herself, the prospect of adopting a different path now seeming plausible.

A few days later, Sasha found herself on the brink of a journey she had once feared.

Yet, resolute in her decision, she quit her job and utilized half of her savings to procure a basic set of armour and survival kits.

As she geared up for the unknown, a mix of fear danced in her eyes.

"Are you sure you wish to do this, Sasha?" Her mother, Nasha, questioned with evident concern before Sasha delved into the world of modern fantasia.

"That's right, Mother," Sasha affirmed with a nod. "It's time for me to change, and I want to save Father as well."

At her daughter's response, Nasha felt a surge of emotions. "I won't stop you, and if only I were slightly younger, I could have gone instead of you."

Both of Sasha's parents were quite old, having welcomed her into the world when they were in their 40s.

"Don't worry, Mom, it's not your fault," Sasha said soothingly as she noticed her mother on the verge of tears.

Moved by the maternal concern, Sasha embraced her, providing comfort and reassurance.

"Just promise me one thing," Nasha requested with a tender expression.

"What is it, Mom?" Sasha inquired.

"Please return safely, no matter what," Nasha pleaded, holding her daughter tightly with her arms wrapped around Sasha's waist.

"I will, no matter what," Sasha affirmed, her voice filled with warmth.

Both of them had heard the news that due to the rising death toll due to modern fantasia, the number had reached a million.

Because of that, it discouraged many potential participants from joining the unpredictable danger.

Nasha, concerned by the escalating casualties, couldn't help but worry about Sasha's decision.

The news had cast a shadow of doubt on the minds of many, leading to a decline in participation.

However, those who dared to step into the realm of modern fantasia were predominantly young, driven by ambition and dreams.

In contrast to the discouraging statistics, those who managed to survive in the fantastical world had achieved extraordinary feats.

Accumulating unimaginable powers and wealth, they stood above the rest.

This stark contrast between the risks and rewards was the source of Nasha's concern and Sasha's conviction.

While the news highlighted the dangers, Sasha believed that embarking on this world was her best chance for personal growth, change, and the possibility of saving her father.

"Alright, time for me to go, Mom," Sasha declared.

Her mother reluctantly released her grasp, uttering a heartfelt, "Be careful."

With readiness in her eyes, Sasha took the plunge into the unfamiliar territory of Modern Fantasia.

As she materialized in the fantastical realm, Sasha couldn't help but remark, "It seems like I'm back again."

Her surroundings were a blend of awe and nostalgia.

However, a tinge of regret coloured her words as she sighed, "I was stupid to skip the tutorial. Because I was too afraid, I didn't dare to embark on my own."

The reason behind Sasha's hesitation lay in the critical mistake of skipping the tutorial during her previous venture.

This error had hindered her progress, making her apprehensive about exploring the fantastical world independently.

"Sigh, but whatever it is, it's too late to regret it now. I should just see what I can do now," Sasha mused, a sense of resignation in her tone.

Summoning her status, she couldn't help but feel a tinge of worry as she observed its apparent deficiencies.

"Well, I can do nothing about it but just accept it," she conceded, acknowledging the limitations of her current situation.

However, a moment of curiosity struck her as she perused her skills.

"What is this skill? Did I miss something the last time I came here?" she questioned herself, perplexed by the unfamiliar addition to her skill.

''Let's try checking it out'' She pressed on the skill, but for some reason, she was even more confused by it.

[: Ribbon of Fate (S) :]

- The Ribbon of Fate has taken an interest in you, who was @!$##@ -

- The Ribbon of Fate could be used to control fate towards yourself or others -

- The result of Fate will depend on both Mana and Level -

''This is even more confusing'' She shook her head as she didn't understand what the meaning implied.

''Let's ignore it for now and let's try levelling up'' She declared as she made her way towards a monster zone that wasn't dangerous for Level 1 to 10.

Before entering Modern Fantasia, Sasha had read all of the guides she needed to know and for beginners like her who had skipped the tutorial, the best place to level up was the Goblin Zone.

''It's a little bit terrifying and even my hands are shaking'' Sasha said as the knife she held was trembling.

Right in front of her, there was a pair of goblins and they were level one.

Goblins in this zone were the weakest, hence, there won't be any life threatening situation.

Moreover, she wasn't alone and there were other hundreds players around this zone which was a huge forest.
