Chapter 555 Accident
Chapter 555: Accident
Main Road, Underground District, Miracle City.
It was around 7.18 A.M.
At that moment, a whirly blonde-haired girl in her reddish gown stood on the roadside and held a classic black umbrella in her right hand.
She was none other than Jessie.
She casually looked around, touched her silver-colored spatial ring, and took out a golden pocket watch.
After that, she flipped the outer case, glanced inside, and nodded.
'50 more seconds.' While muttering, she looked up ahead and saw three black-curtained carriages with unique cross-sword symbols coming from the front.
'They are here.'
She looked behind and saw another golden-curtained luxurious carriage starting to move from the roadside.
At that moment, the silver-haired woman who sat in the driver's seat seemed to have sensed her gaze and nodded her head.
'What a terrifying precognition he has. Moreover, how did he know that those three carriages would come to this exact location at 7.19? I wouldn't be shocked if he turned himself into our 'Teacher' one day and fooled us all.' But she had confidence in her ability to differentiate between this young man and her Teacher.
Shaking her hand, she gripped the umbrella's handle, faced herself towards the road, and stood there in silence.
Seconds passed slowly, and soon it was 7.19 A.M.
The carriages were only 200 meters away from where she was standing and moving closer towards her at an incredible speed.
The white horse that carted the carriage in the front ran madly while the coachmen constantly pulled the horse reins and controlled its movement speed.
Soon, the horse ran past Jessie and moved further.
On the other hand, she casually raised her head, locked her gaze on the carriage driver, and tapped her forefinger on the umbrella's handle.
Meanwhile, the coachman suddenly felt a sharp, aching feeling over his chest and went stiff.
He hurriedly placed his hand on his chest and tried to scream but couldn't.
Simultaneously, his vision turned blurry and went completely blank.
The coachman then slowly slid from the driver's seat and fell under the carriage's left wheel.
By the time he realized his situation, the metal-coated wheel had run over his head and crushed it like a watermelon!
It all happened too fast for anyone even to realize how he died.
Due to the sudden bump, the horse also went off-course.
Meanwhile, the black carriage moved towards the road's other side and collided with the 'golden carriage' that drove from the opposite side!
Thankfully, the 'silver-haired woman' managed to perceive the accident and created a water shield to minimize the damage.
Still, the collision was too fast, causing the black-armored men in the carriage to fly out in different directions.
The carriage's top was torn off from the carriage and landed on the dirt road.
John was also among the victims as he rolled on the dirt road and stopped right under Jessie's foot.
Meanwhile, the two black carriages that drove behind this one collided due to the sudden accident and slowly stopped.
Similar minor accidents happened all over the place as all coachmen from the nearby carriages tried to move further away from the accidental area and control their horses.
Within ten seconds, the whole main street became disorganized.
Then, coachmen and the passengers walked out of the carriages and tried to check what had happened.
On the other hand, the nearby shop owners and onlookers like Jessie also moved forward to help the black-armored security guards.
At that moment, Jessie showed a shocked look on her face and hurriedly bent down to help the silver-haired man.
"Are you alright, sir?" She asked in an anxious tone.
Meanwhile, John coughed a little, sat up without much difficulty, and patted the sand on his arm.
"Such a minor accident won't kill me." He said as he stood up from the road and looked in the direction where the coachman's headless body was twitching.
He then stepped forward and moved over there in a hurry.
At that moment, Professor and other black-armored security guards also walked out of the other two carriages and moved towards the coachman's headless body.
A large crowd was gathered next to the coachman's body in seconds.
Meanwhile, John looked at Professor and was about to ask what had happened, but someone else asked before him.
"What happened?" A young feminine voice echoed as a silver-haired woman excluded the crowd and arrived near John.
Although she wasn't a beauty queen, her revealing big melons attracted every man's eyes in the crowd.
Even John got distracted for a moment and soon snapped out of it.
He then shook his head and responded.
"We don't know why he suddenly fell from his driver's seat." He suddenly stopped talking, shifted his gaze towards the black-haired young man, and waited for his answer.
Meanwhile, Professor squatted down, touched the dead coachman's chest, and closed his eyes.
Two seconds later, he opened his eyes and muttered solemnly.
"His heart stopped all of a sudden... No, his blood movement stopped." He froze as he thought of something, took out his pocket watch from his space ring, and flipped open the outer case before looking inside.
"7.19." His face turned gloomy.
"I knew it. It must be Jessie's blood ability." He instantly activated his [Past Touch] skill and recreated the 'past scene' that happened a while ago in his mind.
He then stood up from the ground and looked at the surroundings.
He quietly observed the nearby store owners, workers, ordinary people, and even a few cats running here and there.
After that, he locked his gaze on a whirly blonde-haired girl who stood only a few meters away from where he was and raised his eyebrows.
At that moment, Jessie took out a pocket watch from her space ring and checked the time.
Then, she looked in the direction where the black carriages were coming from and smiled mysteriously.
Then, she turned her head, looked behind, and nodded.
'An ally?' Professor also followed her gaze and soon squinted as he saw the silver-haired woman!
He identified her in an instant.
'She is the one who asked John about the accident!'
Although they didn't interact much, Professor instantly realized that they knew each other and turned grim.
He then shifted his gaze towards Jessie, quietly observed her every action, and soon saw how she tapped the umbrella's handle and stealthily killed the coachman.
'She is indeed a big nuisance.'
Muttering inwardly, he broke the 'Past Illusion' spell from his mind, opened his eyes, and hurriedly looked around.
"Where is she?" He asked grimly and released his wisdom power to check the surroundings.
Unfortunately, he couldn't find her anywhere near the surroundings!
Meanwhile, John showed a startled look on his face and asked.
"Who are you talking about, Professor?"
"It's the silver-haired woman," Professor said coldly and stood up.
Then, he also searched for Jessie but found no clue.
"She was just here a while ago-" John abruptly paused as he didn't notice how she managed to slip away from his sense and widened his eyes in shock.
'How did she disappear suddenly? I didn't even sense any spatial fluctuation nearby.'
He hurriedly calmed down his mind and asked.
"Is she the one you are looking for, Professor?"
"No. That woman used a water spell to block the carriage." Professor furrowed his brows in suspicion and soon frowned.
'Something is wrong. Who is the enemy? Why did he create this accident? Is he trying to stop me from going to Rocky Street?'
But what shocked him was the enemy's comprehension of the 'Future Time.'
'No, it must be the 'Time-Loop' spell that strengthened his comprehension of the Future Time.' He nodded inwardly and muttered.
"Let's go. We've no time to waste." He said as he glanced at his pocket watch and noticed that it was already 7.20 A.M.
'Tsk, even if I find her, I won't be able to kill her.' He clicked his tongue in annoyance, turned his gaze towards the few injured black-armored security guards, and ordered.
"Take care of this mess."
Then, he moved towards the nearby black carriage, opened the wooden door, and walked in.
John also followed after him, signaled the coachman to start driving the carriage, and stepped inside.
After that, he closed the carriage door and sat on the rear seat.
On the other hand, a few more black-armored security guards moved towards the other carriage and entered.
Within a few seconds, two black-curtained carriages drove again and went in the opposite direction.
At that moment, a blonde-haired young man walked away from the crowd and looked in the direction where the carriages were moving.
"Well, that ended smoothly." Saying so, he took out a strange rainbow-colored feather from his pocket and stored it in his space ring.
Then, he adjusted his bowler hat, turned towards the slightly damaged luxurious carriage, and started walking towards it.
A few seconds later, he arrived near the carriage's door, knocked on it thrice, and muttered.
"You can come out now."
The next instant, the carriage door opened with a bang, and soon a beautiful young woman in her twenties walked out of it.
At that moment, she had already changed her dress into a formal black one and even held a sheathed dagger.
Meanwhile, Charles took out a straw hat from his space ring and put it on her head.
"Let's go. Oliver should have brought another carriage and must be waiting for us." Saying so, Charles turned around and started walking in the airport's direction.
