Chapter 387 Euphren Isle
Chapter 387 Euphren Isle
Alex went to the capital city, Nova, and met with his brothers and Saahira, and he allowed her to join even though she was still under the impression that she was part of a big organization so she could feel important and strive to become more than just a chapter master that she was currently aiming towards.
Saahira had the potential to become one of the top elites, but unlike her other timeline self, she was not living a harsh life, and the best motivation she currently had was to become useful to the organization that changed her life.
So, as earning a peaceful life was not her motivation now, Alex wanted to give her recognition and make it drive her to keep pushing herself to her limits and not get complacent with her easy life.
The continental auction was going to begin in twenty-four hours, with all preparations, including the arrangements for various festivities, being finalized weeks in advance.
So, every individual who wanted to participate and had a million gold coins in funds was making their way to the nearest teleportation center to leave for the Euphren Isle, to enjoy but also to collect any information they could on the catalog on items in the auction.
Alex also wanted to leave early because the Ugly Merchant Guild was going to host an auction of their own that anyone with one million white flame coins in funds could attend, and there they were going to sell the second heart of the Beast Monarch.
After acquiring the second heart from them and the third from the auction, Alex could give all four hearts to Andrei, making his legacy reach the same potential as any peak SSS Rank legacy.
Alex was unaware if there were hearts beyond the fifth one, but he was not worried as just after consuming the fourth heart, Andrei would have two decades to live, and the fourth would only push that number higher, and he could easily locate the remaining ones in that long time.
So, after informing the group of his plan and handing Andrei and Saahira some extra funds to play around with, they made their teleportation center that was crowded.
After going through the VIP line by paying a thousand gold each and showing the minimum fund required, they were given entry.
As there were still six hours before the auction held by the guild began, Alex told the group to explore the island, recommending a few places to them before he left on his own to check a rumored place.
-------------
'The beggar must be somewhere in these alleyways.' Alex thought as he silently moved, looking in every dark ally, trying to spot a beggar.
In Alex's previous life, in the next yearly auction, a beggar was discovered by a player roaming the city, and out of generosity, he gave him some gold coins, and in turn, the beggar told him to buy a seventh mystery box that would be auctioned.
The player didn't take the information seriously as the mystery boxes were anything but cheap, and when asked about the details, the beggar said nothing.
The player asked about what was in the box but received no answers, so he left, but later on, he regretted the decision not to buy the box and shared his experience on the forum.
In the following year's auction, a similar incident occurred, yet this time it wasn't a beggar but an elderly man in a bar, announcing that anyone covering his liquor bill would be met with gratitude.
Alex didn't know if he would find the beggar or the elderly man, who were probably the same individual, but he wanted to try his luck as he could just miss a good opportunity.
It took some time, but Alex finally discovered a beggar seated silently on the floor, leaning against the wall, which was unusual not only because of the secluded place but because only a few hundred individuals lived in the city to keep it clean and maintained all year around and finding one of them begging was rare.
Alex walked toward the beggar, letting him know of his presence, and taking a moment to look at him without using appease, he took out ten white flame coins and placed them in the bowl.
"May God shower blessings upon your noble soul, and may your kindness be repaid a hundredfold by God as this dying beggar can't give you anything but express my deep gratitude," The beggar said as he raised his head, gratitude and excitement evident in his eyes.
Alex nodded and slowly started to walk away, expecting to hear more, but even after he reached the end of the alley and needed to make a turn, he didn't hear from the beggar.
Alex was expecting a helpful tip for a worthwhile purchase, yet it appeared that either he had approached the wrong beggar or there was a hidden aspect to this interaction that the two players hadn't revealed.
Alex was silently walking, considering doing a bit more searching before visiting the pub, when he heard the beggar running, so he stopped but did not get his hopes up.
"Young Master, I don't know if this will be of any help, but I have an acquaintance who works in the Auction house, and he told me that a slave girl of Dragon Origin will be sold in the VIP section,"
"The Draconic Girl holds some secrets, as not even the Head Manager can see into her secrets," The beggar said, showing his yellowish teeth.
"Thanks for the info, and I would appreciate it if you could tell me anything else your friend told you about," Alex said as he handed him a pouch with a hundred white flame coins.
"Once again, I appreciate your generosity, but I can only apologize as I cannot offer further assistance." The beggar said, a bright smile on his face as he checked the magic pouch.
Alex did not know how he should react to this news as he was expecting info about a useful item, but now all he knew about was a slave girl that would be sold in the VIP section, which was filled with nobles and royals, who were loaded and would be hungry to get their hands on a mysterious toy.
Slavery was banned on the Human, Elven, and Seraphian continents while it was allowed with some rules on all other continents, but even where it was banned, it was only banned for the common folks as powerful figures had slaves and had just given them the name of servants.
A bit disappointed, Alex left the area, and after changing his appearance, he made his way to the bar, hoping that the old man would appear and give him a proper tip.
After four hours of waiting in a pub full of drunks, Alex left more disappointed that his little trip was wasted, but pushing that aside, he met with the group, and they made their way to the hotel, where the Auction was going to be held.
-------------
Alex proceeded in the front, and to his right walked Venedikt, who had the appearance of his persona of Architect, with short dark hair and cold dark eyes.
To his left was Saahira, whose persona name was Pyrael, with the change to her appearance being the color of her hair and eyes that were now pure white, only making her look more noble and pretty.
Andrei walked behind him, with the name of his persona being Ruinov, with his appearance the same as the original because he could potentially do little to change his hulking yet refined physique that had grown to 7.8ft tall but still looked different from the real world.
As the group arrived, they proceeded past the guards, and with their entry, the crowded hall turned silent as many eyes got fixed on them because everyone knew which group they belonged to, as no introduction was needed.
Alex did not need to spend any time answering the greetings of the various guild leaders and elders as an elder of the Ugly Merchant guild rushed to greet them before guiding them to the VIP section.
The auction started after fifteen minutes, and Alex and the group departed thirty or so minutes later, after buying a couple of items and doing so with ease as no guild tried to start a bidding war with them.
There were still close to sixteen hours departed before the real Auction began, and there was a lot for entertainment on the island, so Alex decided to let loose a little and enjoy his life for one, after the auction, he and every one of them would potentially be back in the race of achieving some goal.
Alex took the group to the game area to watch a game named "Meteor Ball," which was similar to American football but under a bit different rules. The players were elementalists, with no restriction of abilities, so they were letting loose their physical and elemental capabilities.
