Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 238: Venue

Zhao Kai was completely baffled by the nonchalant and casual attitude of Xu Feng.

He even began to wonder if his friend had been replaced by someone else.

So what if he was surnamed Zhao at the end of the day?

He held no power or any shares within the Zhao Enterprise. This was equivalent to announcing that aside from his surname, he was nothing.

"Feng, we're definitely going to be targeted the moment we get out of the car." Zhao Kai smiled bitterly, clearly believing Xu Feng did not understand the severity of the matter.

Toward this kind of event, he had experienced thrice in his lifetime.

And each one of them ended on a terrible note. To be more precise, those who wanted to curry favor with his half-brothers were targeting him nonstop.

To make things worse, no one else assisted him until Zhao Xin intervened.

"You worry too much, Kai." Xu Feng kept a calm composure, naturally understanding Zhao Kai's worries.

Nevertheless, understanding and accepting it were two different things. Maybe if he hadn't joined him in the party, then fate might have continued the same, with Zhao Kai meeting some sort of bad ending.

However, with his presence, those who tried so would get face-slapped very hard to the point that they wished they were back in their mother's womb.

"When we hop off, just follow my back." Xu Feng instructed. "You should also stop paying attention to how others look at you. They are nothing but a bunch of clowns."

Flabbergasted, Zhao Kai now believed he had truly lost his buddy. The Xu Feng he knew wouldn't behave as such, especially with such a calm composure. 'Just what kind of drug did Feng take to increase his courage? I want one as well.'

As Vera promptly found a vacant parking spot, Xu Feng and Zhao Kai's safety belt was unlocked automatically.

"We have arrived at the destination, Master Xu Feng," Vera reported.

"Thanks, keep an eye out and update me with anything through the smartwatch." Xu Feng instructed. Ever since obtaining Vera, he had connected the AI system to his smartwatch and phone, making it very convenient for him.

After all, aside from the automated driving, Vera was equivalent to a supercomputer who could always absorb all types of information that he asked for and relayed them back to him. Find your next adventure on mvl

Of course, this was only possible because of the advanced AI system implemented on the car that cost a fortune. Not to mention, the cost wasn't the problem but the identity of the buyer as well, given this kind of car was not sold to just anyone.

Meanwhile, Zhao Kai flashed an envious look at Xu Feng for having such an advanced AI assistant.

"Sister is really stingy and biased." Zhao Kai pursed his lips, his gaze locking on Xu Feng. "She gifted you this to accompany me to the party, but where's my gift for arriving here? She knows how much I hate this type of event."

"Are you seriously being jealous? The birthday is your grandfather, so why should you get a gift for attending your grandfather's party?" Xu Feng raised an eyebrow.

With that said, Xu Feng got out of the car, instantly attracting attention from other guests.

They garnered attraction not because of their appearance, but because no one else in the venue knew who they were.

"Hmm, just who could they be? Another hidden family heir?"

"That's a good joke you got there, Hans Zhou. Don't you think we wouldn't know if they're hidden family heirs at a glance or not?"

Hans Zhou nodded his head upon hearing his companion's words. Indeed, they would have detected some hints if it was true. "I suppose we'll figure it out later on anyway, Lang Shan."

Shortly after Hans Zhou and Lang Shan ignored them, resuming their interactions with other well-known people.

Naturally, everyone was around the same age, with their parents being on nearly equal standings in terms of wealth and status. They were here to socialize and get to know each other well, given that they were the future heirs who would take over their parents' businesses.

Meanwhile, Xu Feng paid no heed to those who were outside the venue. He had heard their discussion and merely laughed at their mindset.

Unlike them, Xu Feng knew why they were outside and weren't allowed inside the venue yet. They might be heirs, but their achievements are disappointing to the adults, prompting them to be forced to socialize outside.

"Let's head inside." Xu Feng turned to Zhao Kai and said, who was clearly hesitating to enter the venue.

His usual composure could not be found at all. "L-Let me notify my sister first."

"No need, your sister already told me to bring you inside the venue. She's dealing with others so she won't have time to contact you."

"B-But—"

Before Zhao Kai could complain further, Xu Feng directly grabbed his arm and dragged him into the venue.

Sometime later, they arrived at the entrance where numerous guards were standing by.

"The party has not yet started, so please wait outside temporarily." One of the guards explained in a tone that was not reverent or overly rude.

Anyone who could attend today's Zhao Gaofu party was people with a huge background. Hence, the guards would be foolish enough to offend any of them accidentally.

"I see… in that case, then we'll just wait." Zhao Kai readily answered, clearly exhilarated to be barred from entering.

Alas, Xu Feng had no intention of trying to catch a cold outside and tapped on his smartwatch, revealing the gold invitation card.

Astounded, the guard's stoic expression finally revealed some emotion as he glanced at Xu Feng in a new light.

"Apologies, I didn't know you were a gold invitation holder." The guard said respectfully and signaled for the rest to allow them to go through.

Nodding, Xu Feng thanked the guard before dragging the very reluctant Zhao Kai inside.

"Damn, Lang Shan, I want a refund of my investment." Seeing the scene, Hans Zhou quickly demanded a refund.

"Your poor eyesight nearly got me ruined. I don't dare to place my money in your investment."
