Chapter 152 - Suicide Quest
"Shh!" Klautz slammed his index finger on his lips all the while covering her with his whole hand.
He had to forcefully shut her mouth for fear that his little act might get caught. Just a squeak was what was needed to make the man on his guard.
The air around Klautz turned dark. He glared at her as if piercing her very soul.
*Gulp*
Verona realized that she was more submissive to him than she had possibly assumed. She stopped resisting and closed her eyes preparing herself for what to come.
It was only after some time had passed that Klautz was able to come out of the bushes as he heaved a sigh of relief.
He let go of her as he spoke.
"We had someone spying on us. That is why I had to do that to ensure that you don't get me into trouble."
Verona opened her eyes that were closed shut.
"Eh?" Verona squeaked. She had a puzzled expression on her face as she tried to make sense of Klautz words.
"Oh I see"
Verona nodded as her cheeks turned red..
"Sorry, I didn't know about it," Verona continued. "But who could it be? Why would he follow us?"
Klautz shook his head.
"I have no idea. But we have to be on our guard at all times."
Klautz sat down again, his back facing towards Verona.
"Get on top, we have to move,"
Verona nodded. She was reluctant with her face turning a tint of red but she understood that this was no time to be embarrassed. It was regrettable but she could not run as fast as Klautz.
Every time Klautz jerked her knack couldn't help but squash itself on his back. He couldn't help but feel his member tingle. Klautz, having no other option, had to bear with it for now. Whether he was enjoying it or not was a different matter.
Where is that Selena when I need her? GOsh!'
Selena had become Klautz's release for lust for better or worse.

"We have reached. Get down," Klautz ordered.
Klautz didn't spend a moment to think no matter how pleasurable the experience was.
They had reached a completely different forest than before. In fact it would be a disrespect to the previous one if one were to call this one a 'forest'.
The sun was shining through the whole plain. The soil had a bad rotten smell to it and even the trees had dried out. There were several tombs around the area and skeletons of varying sizes roaming around the plains.
"Just a step and we would be in their domain."
There was a clear distinction between the soil they were standing and the soil just a step ahead. The soil ahead seemed to be infested with miasma. Black bubbles rose from the cracks adding to its ominous appearance.
Klautz had come here to grind to increase his strength as fast as possible. With the strength of the monster available here there was the proper scope for them to grind unlike the forest before.
Every monster had a chance to drop a stat point but the chances were highly dependent on the strength difference between the hunter and the monster. That is why a hunter can always hunt in weaker areas but the efficiency would be extremely slow, halting his progress.
"Klautz what is this place?" Verona couldn't help but ask but worry.
The place had an ominous appearance to it so much so that her legs were shaking a bead of perspiration trickling down her forehead. She had faced tons of monsters the past few days but this pace was different.
'How should I say this? It's like calling me to join them in their graves.'
But for Klautz things weren't as complicated. Increasing his strength was all he had in mind.
Difficulties will always arise. Someone would always be after his life. Some 'Resident' would always try to use him. But does that mean he could back off? He could only focus on putting those troubles away and increasing his strength until he is strong enough to face them… that is if those troubles don't get him killed.
"You don't need to know. Just know that we would be killing skeletons here."
Klautz shrugged. None of the newbies know of this place. This place is only to be explored by the newbie drill once the second gen joins them to grind with them; Leading to a collective increase in their strength and numbers.
Klautz took a look in his inventory. He took out two man sized puppets for Verona.
"You have controlled a puppet before. Now we are moving onto the next stage. You would be controlling two of them at once," Klautz continued, "Know that if you fail in this task you would be dying here."
The air around Klautz turned dark. None of the words he said were a joke. Verona might have a great cheat like class but that doesn't mean he could tolerate her if she keeps being useless. She needs to prove her worth… prove that she is worthy of her powers if she wants to be acknowledged by Klautz.
Even today when he gave her a piggy back was a big exception. It was only because she was just a newbie that Klautz had been lenient on her.
*Gulp*
Verona couldn't help but shake all the more. Their surroundings were scary but Klautz was scaring her to the bone!
For people like him this was the right place for grinding but not for Verona. She had but a [Level 2] score at the check ups.
Someone with Klautz stats could defeat the horde's of monsters that come his way but Verona? She is still too weak for this.
If Verona was so weak why was Klautz hell bent on sending her on a suicide quest? Only Klautz knew the answer.
