Chapter 153 - Lost Target
The difficulty of the [Skeleton's domain] was high for Verona. With her stats she would only get herself killed. Unless…
'If she can use her ability properly. She can get out of this mess.'
Verona's class was more of a nuke than she could possibly think! But she was far from its mastery. That was Klautz's intention… to force her to master it. There is no point in giving long lectures explaining to her. She would understand it herself when her life is in mortal peril!
When Klautz was doing his ninja training, it was rarely safe. The instructor was there just to correct his form and not save him in case he messes up and dies. With disciples dying around his daily the fear of death had ingrained in Klautz's heart. That was what drove him to master the jutsu form.
Klautz took out the Tossias's Spirit from his inventory. It wriggled and turned to his beloved sword.
'It would be a harsh test for her. But that would force her to push herself to survive. If she cannot endure it and quits then I guess we were never meant to work together.'
Klautz stepped inside the circle. He released and intense killing intent that made Verona choke.
*Rattle* *rattle*
The skeletons that had gotten alerted of his presence turned towards him. Klautz had no plans to hide himself and intended to draw their agro. They wanted to drive them out for good out of their domain.

*swish* *swish*
The shadow that Klautz had released to fool his pursuer was doing his job well. It took the man towards the opposite direction to where Klautz was headed without even his knowledge.
The man helplessly followed, thinking he was after Klautz. But alas all he was following was a puppet. Even though he was on high alert so as to not lose him it was all for naught.
At the next turn with a blink of an eye the shadow disappeared. Klautz was controlling it with his [Spirit conjurer] Class and could get rid of it whenever he wanted. Klautz just trusted his instincts and made it vanish when he thought the time was right.
"What? Where did he go?" The man squeaked helplessly. "I was surely after it. Did he fly up in the air or the earth swallowed him!?"
The man looked left and right as he hopped from one branch to another. There was no one there. How could Klautz escape his reach in a matter of seconds? There was only one conclusion that he could draw.
"To be able to escape my eyes…" he was lost in his soliloquy. "I was right, this man is not simple."
From the very start when Klautz took Verona on his back he had his suspicions.
'He probably knew of my presence from the very start.' The man frowned as he thought of the possibilities.
From the start the man's goals was to observe Klautz his action. He had a firm believe that only when life is in danger that one begings to show their true colors. For Klautz too he believe the same. He wanted to guage his real strength and his real abilities.
"Even my disciple failed her mission. Shows how much of a hard target he is…," the last night's memory came to his head.

*Slash* *Slash*
The horde of skeletons charged towards Klautz. With a swing of his sword he cracked their skulls only for more to come his way.
[Agility +1]
[Stamina +1]
"Come in. What are you waiting for?" Klautz ordered to Verona who was still standing out of their area. She was in the safe zone where the skeletons would not attack her. Her legs shaking in fear.
*Gulp*
SHe tried to remember Klautz words.
*If you want to survive through this, you must learn how to control two puppets at once. Try to sync their moments as if you were moving two of your own hands. Give simpler instructions to them than complex ones. It might seem daunting at first but remember it is much more easier than you think*
She took a deep breath.
"It would be easy," she reminded herself, turning to the puppets.
*Creak* *Creak*
The puppets moved in a disorganized way signifying that she was indeed having trouble controlling the two.
But Klautz jadn't lied. Armand could control horde's of puppet without breaking a sweat. He might be a natural but Verona should be able to control many as welll as long as she practices.
At the moment it was the beginner's mistakes she was making and these very mistakes could have cost her with her life.
The puppets walked in and slammed their hammers on the skeleton's cracking their skull.
*rattle* rattle*
More skeletons began to appear storming closer to the puppets. Verona took a step back. Even with the puppets it was no less daunting for her.
[Strength +1]
[Stamina +1]
Verona ws far lower in level compared to the skletons. That made the stat drop rate almost 100% for her. But alas it didn't last long as soon her puppets were ripped to shreds.
"Ah…," she took another step back in fright. The skeletons were monstrous strength and she wasn;t sure she had fought anything like them before.
But a push on her back made her stop in her tracks.
Klautz sighed.
"You are not following my orders, Verona. I told you to step inside and fight along the puppets not controlling them from far off"
Klautz understood that Verona's way could be a good option to farm for stats without putting her life at risk. But that was not what Klautz was aiming for. If she needs to survive she needs to hone her foundations too along with growth in stats.
"Look at me," Klautz whispered in her ears.
With a push on her shoulders she turned around. That is when Klautz realized her eyes were turning moist.
'This won't do'
Klautz shook his head.
"Look behind me," Klautz whispered, wiping her tears.
