Her Husband is My Lover

Valentina just kept staring at Xavier until he got into his car and drove off from the driveway. 

Tears started falling down from Valentina's eyes but she tried to control herself and wiped off the tears away from her eyes. She took a deep breath and calmed herself down. She turned around to walk inside but was stopped in a mid-way as she saw Jason looking at her from the door. 

Valentina sighed as walked towards him and she tried to not let her tears fall. Jason just kept staring at her as Valentina walked towards him. Valentina waited for him to shoot the questions about why Xavier is here and what they talked about but seeing him just keep staring at her made her feel uncomfortable with his gaze. 

"Jason..." Valentina called as Jason nodded his head.

"Yes?" Jason asked.

"Why don't you ask me that for what Xavier is here for?" Valentina asked.

"Why would I ask that?" Jason asked making Valentina frown.

"You don't want to know why he is here for?" Valentina asked.

"Val... Isn't it obvious on why he is here?" Jason asked. 

"Still..." Jason cut off Valentina in mid-sentence.

"No!" Jason answered.

"Huh?" Valentina asked.

"No... I don't want to know why he is here for." Jason answered. 

"Why?" Valentina asked.

"Because I am no one between you guys to know about what is going on between you guys and what are you talking about either!" Jason answered.

"Why would you think that? You are my... Best Friend... You have every right to know about what is going on in my life!" Valentina replied making Jason shrug.

"I don't think so... Even though, I am your best friend... I don't have to know everything that is going on in your life... You have your private life... And it would be good for you only if you keep your life private... Whatever happened right now is between you and Xavier... You both need to solve the situation and should find the solution... I can't help you with it but only can support you!" Jason said making Valentina sigh.

"Jason..." Jason cut off Valentina in mid-sentence as he shook his head in no.

"I know, what is going on in your head... You don't have to explain me anything... You are mature enough to take decisions on your own... And I don't have any right to point out your decision... You know what is best for you and your life... Just remember, I will be there for you whenever you need me, no matter what." Jason said making Valentina sigh.

"Are you sure that you will be alright? I might take any decision..." Valentina said making Jason chuckle.

"I have been beside you for the past 6 years. That is without letting you know about my feelings to you... Do you think, I can't be alright?" Jason asked making Valentina look into his eyes.

"I... Umm..." Valentina stuttered.

"No rush... Just think wisely!" Jason said and walked inside making Valentina sigh. 

Jason walked inside the dining room and Valentina followed him.

"Xavier left?" Amelia asked and Valentina nodded her head in yes.

"He was here for business? Is it done?" Amelia asked.

"Umm... No... I said, we will discuss about it together..." Valentina answered.

"Ohh... Was it important?" Amelia asked making Valentina look up at her.

"Huh?" Valentina asked.

"I mean... Was it an important talk that he came here as soon as after his honeymoon?" Amelia asked and Valentina nodded her head.

"Yeah... It is!" Valentina answered a little sternly and seeing that voice... Amelia understood that she needs to stop going forward with this topic.

"Have your dinner... It's getting cold." Amelia said and they both nodded their head and sat down on their chairs. 

"Jason, why don't you stay here for the night?" Amelia asked making Jason look up at her and Valentina frowned.

"Umm... I can't..." Jason stuttered.

"Ohh... Just feel it as your home and be comfortable..." Amelia said making Jason look at Valentina. She sighed as Jason looked at her.

"Umm... I really can't." Jason replied.

"Ohh... It's alright!" Amelia said with a small smile. 

The 3 were soon done with their dinners and walked towards the living room. 

"Alright... I will take my leave now." Jason said.

"So soon? Why don't you spend some time with Valentina?" Amelia asked.

"Umm... We meet regularly... So, it's not a problem and I am just a little tired today... As I went to the company after a week." Jason answered and Amelia nodded her head.

"Yeah... You must be so tired... Alright... Take care of yourself." Amelia said and Jason nodded his head with a smile.

"I will... And you too... Please take care!" Jason replied and Amelia nodded her head and they both hugged each other. 

"I will..." Amelia said and Jason nodded his head.

"I will leave you both alone..." Amelia said and walked away from them.

Jason looked at Valentina and she at him.

"You staying tonight here?" Jason asked.

"I don't know... I might leave in an hour or 2." Valentina answered and Jason nodded his head.

"You going to company tomorrow?" Jason asked.

"I need to... There are a few important meetings I need to attend and I have an appointment with Edward Morgan." Valentina answered.

"Umm... Yeah... I heard you gave him your appointment?" Jason asked and Valentina nodded her head.

"Yes... I gave him my appointment." Valentina answered.

"Do you have any idea why he is coming to meet you?" Jason asked and Valentina shook her head in no.

"No... I don't!" Valentina answered.

"But you just gave your appointment to him so easily?" Jason asked and Valentina nodded her head.

"Yes." Valentina answered making Jason sigh.

"Why?" Jason asked.

"What why?" Valentina asked.

"Why did you gave him your appointment? Don't you know how dangerous he is? Mom was mentioning him telling me to stay away from him too..." Jason answered.

"Well... I know..." Valentina replied making Jason frown.

"Then why did you gave him your appointment? You should have at least ask him the reason for meeting you." Jason said.

"Well... I want to meet him... In the first place." Valentina replied making Jason raise his eyebrows at her.

"You want to meet him?" Jason asked and Valentina nodded her head.

"Yes." Valentina answered.

"Why?" Jason asked and Valentina shrugged her shoulders.

"To know his power!" Valentina answered.

"Huh? What do you mean?" Jason asked.

"I have met him a few times before but... We didn't communicate well..." Valentina answered.

"So?" Jason asked.

"So what? I want to know him..." Valentina answered.

"Why, Valentina?" Jason asked making Valentina sigh.

"I don't have to answer you everything, Jason... It's about my business..." Valentina answered making Jason sigh.

"Alright... I will not ask you more... But be careful with him." Jason said making Valentina nod her head.

"Yeah... I will!" Valentina replied.

"Alright... I will see you later..." Jason said and Valentina nodded her head and they both hugged each other.

"Take care." Jason said.

"Yeah... See you." Valentina replied and Jason nodded his head and walked out of the mansion. 

Valentina looked at Jason until his figure disappeared from her eyes. She turned around and walked upstairs... Amelia saw Valentina walking upstairs but didn't stop her as she was going to her room. Valentina stopped in mid-way as she was about to go to her room. She turned her head and looked at the paintings on the wall... That her father painted.

She looked at them all for one last time before she takes a deep breath and walks towards her room.

Valentina closed her room door and grabbed a file. She sat on the couch and was going through the file when a knock disturbed her.

"Yes." Valentina said and Amelia opened the door and walked inside. 

Valentina closed the file and looked at her. 

"Ummm... I want to ask something to you..." Amelia said and Valentina nodded her head.

"Yes... Please do!" Valentina replied and Amelia took a deep breath.

"Will you leave tonight or staying over for the night?" Amelia asked.

"Ummm... I don't know..." Valentina answered and Amelia took a deep breath as she sat on the couch in front of her.

"Why don't you stay over here with me?" Amelia asked making Valentina look at her.

"Here?" Valentina asked and Amelia nodded her head.

"Yes... Here... Please... Live with me here in this mansion... Until you get married..." Amelia answered making Valentina look at her.

"Umm... I... I..." Valentina stuttered.

"Valentina, I know, it will be so hard for you to get adjusted... But it will be just for a while... Thats it... Please..." Amelia requested.

"Umm... Alright." Valentina replied making Amelia smile brightly. 

"Thank you so much." Amelia said and Valentina shook her head.

"Umm... Can I ask you one more thing? But promise me you will not get angry with me... I know, me asking this question so fast is not right but I want to asl you this question." Amelia said making Valentina frown but she still nodded her head.

"You can ask me anything... Not a problem." Valentina replied.

"Umm... Do you have anyone special in your life?" Amelia asked making Valentina shock.

"Umm... What?" Valentina asked.

"I am sorry... I shouldn't have asked you this!" Amelia answered.

"Umm... No... It's fine." Valentina replied.

"Then... The answer?" Amelia asked and Valentina took a deep breath.

"There was... But... I guess, not anymore..." Valentina answered making Amelia frown.

"Huh? What do you mean?" Amelia asked.

"Umm... Nothing... There is no one in my life." Valentina answered making Amelia smile. 

"Alright... Now... Go to bed... You need rest!" Amelia said.

"I will soon... I need to check these files... You can go to bed." Valentina replied.

"Alright... I will leave then! If you want anyone, wake me up." Amelia said and Valentina nodded her head. Amelia walked out of the room closing the door behind her and Valentina sighed.
